I don't think it'll be Morris after this "If I am being brutally honest, I think the way it was handled was really unprofessional” Morris added. “Just in terms of the communication and other bits and bobs that I won’t go into but it left a bit of a sour taste to be fair" on his Pools snub, for want of a better word.

Anyway, sestonpoolie has just cock teased us all and gone for his tea, can't blame him :fl:

And Peter Hartley signed officially till the end of the season.
I'm back from my tea.
It's not Green or Gav.
He's a good player,but always fecking injured.

We've been linked with Ethan Bristow from Tranmere, in the market for a left back which I understand he is?
Yes or wing-back. Bought as a development player, played just about every league game so far, he’s got pace but still a little raw defensively. Peterborough also interested allegedly.

I’d expect the Moxon wheels to start moving now. This is clearly a replacement. Stockport and Swansea two of the clubs I’ve heard are willing to meet our valuation.
Rumour mill is in overdrive - Bristol City, Swansea, Blackburn, MK Dons... I'd not heard Stockport mentioned till now though.

Selling him at this point would be idiocy - he's under contract for another season, and his value is only going to continue to rise. He's also pivotal to our success, and flogging him off would poison the well of goodwill that is slowly building for the first time in a decade and a half.

No brainer to me - either a club pays a ridiculously inflated fee, or we wait until summer.

Of course, the victorians in charge of the club will likely get shot to the first team that offers 6 figures. But let's wait and see.

McCalmont is quite possibly a direct replacement for Hilton, or cover for Charters.

Tonight’s rumour down in Kent is that there are three arriving from Charlton tomorrow, Stockley and Jaiyesimi with a third (not sure who that is).

Well if you get the Stockley we had in L2 he’ll be outstanding. He’s the master at scoring at either the near or far post and is a beast in the air. Love him.

I was told before Xmas he was not going back to you, so I was surprised he was on the bench for the FA cup. Not sure where he is going to go next, but presume NL. Frees up space for you.

He didn’t really fit in to our system, we rarely play with wingbacks. But from the times he’s played I can’t say he’s impressed, I do wish him well though and hope it works out somewhere else.

Fingers crossed then!

Colchester transfer windowing their way out of danger

FFS! That’s supposed to be us Gills making signings now. Very impressed with their last 2 signings. Connor Hall and Matt Jay both have recent L2 promotions on their resume.

Hopefully the rumours down here of 3 or 4 players in the next few days turn out correct. Stockley would be a huge in.

And DJ from Charlton sounds a pretty exciting and quick player. Can any Swindon fans tell us much about him?

Chicken, mushrooms, peppers, tomatoes, stir fried in a caramelised onion sauce, topped with sour cream.
I'm still eating the turkey we had for Christmas. 30 pounder, it's all they had left. This week it's turkey nuggets with boiled veg and homemade cheese sauce.

DJ is an absolute bag of tricks and one of my favourite players of recent times. One of the rare players that gets fans off their seats with ridiculous skills. If you get the version we had you'll absolutely love him. Not sure he's the type of player you want in a relegation battle but that remains to be seen. Fans and defenders have no idea what he's going to do next, sometimes it will look like he doesn't either to be fair!

We had him in a relegation battle and he was utterly forgettable. One of those players who we've had who has looked crap then gone on and been great at other places at the same level or higher. In fact when I look at that side on Wikipedia we had Jaiyesimi, Siriki Dembele, Charles Vernam, Jamille Matt and Mallik Wilks. How the fuck did that team finish 22nd and only survive on the penultimate day?!

Good luck to the lad.

I don’t dislike him, but I just think his options are limited when he doesn’t want to move away from the East Coast.

Apart from Grimsby, Mansfield and maybe Doncaster, which other club could he ply his trade at next, if we base it solely on location.

Scunthorpe if he dropped down 2 leagues?

He needs a new agent and a back hand before he finds himself in non-league.

I was only being tongue in cheek with the podcast comment, I don't think that means it's a done deal at all. Agree on the limitations of our area but if it works in our favour here I won't be complaining as it works against us more times than not. If he moves this window I think that'll be 4 transfers in 3 seasons for him which could be happening for any number of reasons, but funny you mention a new agent as I bet his current one loves him for moving so often.

Chesterfield and Notts County probably more likely destinations than Scunny right now if he's dropping two levels.

I maybe in the minority of that i wouldn’t take him back, don’t get me wrong he’s good on his day but before the last few months it was few and far between and he’s injury prone. When he came to us he made excuses that he couldn’t settle at Burton then leaves for similar reasons, I don’t want a player who’s scared to leave Lincolnshire.

Hughes has his critics but he gets the best out of forward players, Vernam, Wright and Cook have had their best scoring runs in their career under him and I trust him to do the same with the next guy even if he’s underperformed at his previous club as Wright had. They usually repay you by pissing off first chance they get like, but that’s the price you pay being in league 2.

Yeah, that's all fair. I'd be worried about signing a player that was always wanting to get back home to West Yorkshire or Lancashire for example. We basically need more players who are scared of leaving Lincolnshire though. Come back home Charles, it's scary over there. Too many cities and hills.

One thing I would add is that Vernam's best little patch of scoring was surely under Holloway just before COVID. Think he scored 6 or 7 in the 10 games before that season ended early. We had some kind of super Bradford Rejects front line of Billy Clarke, James Hanson and Vernam (who admittedly hadn't been with you at that point). Vernam was looking red hot then and the fact that we failed to trigger the option of additional year in his contract is something I'll never forgive Holloway and John Fenty for.

Think he had a similar record under Hughes, he scored something like 9 goals for us and most came in the last few months although I might be remembering wrong I tried to block last season out!

Ah fair enough, sounds like the Jan window is the time to be signing him in that case!
