Close to signing a left back Patrick Brough or Calum McDonald I imagine.

Clough did not seem too confident about getting Harbottle back looks like he may be getting a L1 loan which is a shame.
Callum McDonald didn't sign a contract with Tranmere hoping for a club in a higher division. 4 months on the dole later he is back in League 2. A decent player but clearly not as good as he thinks. A lot better than Ridehalgh though.

The Calum MacDonald who played for us this season?

Solid enough, quite unspectacular. Seemed calm on the ball. Not the most physical of full backs both in size and pace.
he signed for us for the remainder of the season.
Id echo what you said. Decent left foot which you would expect really but I wasnt bothered that we didnt sign him longer

solid defender, very good at crossing the ball as an overlapping left full back - but had a slightly disappointing (by his high standards) last season. Also takes free kicks from the right hand side ahead of Ben Whitfield which tells you he has a good delivery. Didn't score last season which was unusual as he usually gets 4 or 5 from full back.
Cheers, he doesn’t sound spectacular but still an improvement on what we have. Left back is a key weakness of ours.

Some website reporting that we’re interested in Macauley Langstaff.

Time for a £££ dance.

I hope he stays, but we’d probably be mad not to sell him this summer, he’s not actually that young and will never be as valuable as he is now realistically.

Brough would be a reasonable signing for anyone in this division.

McLaughlin is our #1 LB but unfortunately he’s been out most of the current season and is going to miss the first month or two of the second.

They’ve also linked us (Wrexham) to him which I think must be nonsense.
Going to be a long summer with every media outlet linking us to players for clicks.

Parky has even said in the last couple of days that we’re only looking at “one or two” to improve the squad. We’ll be dormant until July I reckon. Could do with a striker and LB IMO (aswell as a keeper) but apart from that we’re all quite happy with the squad.

Calum Macdonald supposedly had an offer from Derby for this season, which was rescinded after the management/ownership changes there. So get why he didn’t re-sign for Rovers. Decent enough left-back at L2 level.

I think you mean The Rubbish Elliott Hewitt (player of the season).

I think you mean the Hewitt we obviously brought in to play at CB NOT RB with the amazing Menayese together they did a great job playing a part getting Grimsby relegated.

Regardless of the semantics, the fact remains that when you signed Hewitt we told you he was decent and you said he wasn't and here we are with him winning your POTY in a season when you'd have won the league at a canter if you hadn't have been decimated with injuries, so essentially we called your best player in what would have been a title winning season if the footballing gods hadn't have decided to punish you for all that Radford stuff.

We've been linked with 3 midfielders, Grant Savoury & Jack Thompson of Queens Park and Fuad Sule of Larne.

Big Dunc went to watch the Queens Park duo the other week but Thompson got injured in the warm up and Savoury was carried off with an acl. Sule has interest from St Mirren and would reportedly much prefer a move there so not sure any of these players will actually come here, but still.
Is he mad.

We are still interested in Danny Johnson but so are a lot of other clubs our Manager Matt Sadler has said today.

How could I say someone isn’t decent that I’ve never watched or heard of before? My argument was purely that we did not bring him to the club to play with Menayese at CB because he’s not very good actually, I was correct obviously :D

Calum Macdonald confirmed on a two year deal.

From the area, I imagine not expensive and got good experience at this level at 25 so makes sense On PaPeR.

Yep exactly what I've been saying since before they even had the title confirmed. People seem to be of the opinion that the current Wrexham squad is going to do the same and rack up another monster points tally. No chance. They'll be up there as they are, but they'll need to do more than one or two if they want to absolutely smash it again.

Well you definitely had a lot to say about him back when you signed him!

No I had a lot to say about how you thinking we brought in him in to have him and Mayo together at centre back was ridiculous.

Capable enough at this level and from the midlands so should settle ok. Prone to the odd rash challenge, but better defensively than going forward,
