Surprisingly not too fussed about McDonald leaving. He was good for us and deservedly won our POTS. But our season was a wretched season. Harrogate have offered Rod a wage we were unprepared to pay for a player with considerable injury history and gave him 2 years compared to our 1 year.

Considering fans have long since criticised the club for giving injury prone players lucrative contracts, then I'm glad we haven't in this case. We have too many well paid crocks at the club as it is. We must replace him and I'm confident we will. People forget that Rod was on the scrapheap this time last year, now he's earned a payday off a club prepared to pay what I'd regard as over the odds for him.

I wish him all the best at Harrogate.

Couple of interesting rumours:

Jonny Williams and Charlie Wyke

Would love Williams here. What was the reason for binning him off Swindon fans - wages?

Loved Charlie boy first time around at City, however, wouldn't risk having him back due to his heart condition.

Williams is definitely a class act at this level, however, the only reason he was down at this level recently is again surely concerns about his fitness?. If I remember rightly he was subbed off in both games against last season?

84 app in his last 2 seasons - 15 goals - 10 assist

If he’s available, chuck some moula at him.

Foulds has left for Harrogate permanently.

A lot of our fans crying because he's a local lad and fan which always makes our lot overrate a player. That said, he's competent enough and a better player than Ridehalgh imo.
I've never been really that impressed by him. I hope Mr Weaver Jr sees something in him that I can't.

How much are we paying him? I can't find this information online.

Big signing. Important you keep Langstaff and Rodrigues now surely? Although softens the blow if either of those leave I suppose.

Ruben all but gone I think, possibly in the opposite direction. Not a bad replacement though.

Langstaff just depends on if anyone offers us the money. We’d sell him for seven figures I think but no pressure to listen to lower offers with his contract.

Is Wyke partnering Cole Stockton with Cook in behind? Ryan Giggs on one side and Mr Tumble on the other? Who makes this guff up?
We couldn't match Mr Tumble's wage demands.

I'd be more inclined to hold onto Langstaff now if the price isn't exactly what we want, but that depends on the other signings really. You'd basically be betting that there's a good chance to get into L1 and the risk of him losing value is worth that chance. Equally if he really wants to go then I don't think it's worth trying to keep him if our eventual model is to break even by selling players on.

Someone will panic and put up the money for Langstaff. To be fair he's probably worth it too. At 26 he doesn't fit most recruitment models but he's got it

Didz is an incredible signing. Nice to have a youth teamer come back

Great signing for us obviously. The homecoming thing is all very nice as well but presumably he wouldn’t have signed if he hadn’t thought we’d have a decent shot at it in the next couple of years.

Interesting to see if it has any affect on either new players wanting to join, or persuade reluctant re signers to get stuck in. Ruben and Nemane look gone with unfortunately.

We don't really know. According to the release list we never actually offered him a contract. I suspect we probably couldn't get anywhere near his new wage demands. I suspect he may end up at Wrexham.

What has Old Man McGoldrick got left in the tank at the age of 39 though?

Jonny Williams flattered to deceive. Personally i'm glad he's gone as he spent more time on the deck than on his feet. The massive expectation when he signed was never realised
