Yeah, the ages of McDonald and Taylor are concerning considering we badly lacked energy and pace last year.

We had a pretty small team last season, despite a few opposition posters weirdly calling us giants. Think only three players were over six foot? Maybe four. If we bring in McDonald then we definitely do need some pace elsewhere. Still hoping we bring in Agyei or someone similar.

McDonald has had a very good playing career including premiership experience. He would be a class act at this level if we are indeed signing him. The rumour has come from the same source that called the Ash Taylor signing 3 hours before it was announced officially

Fair enough, you never know, but my experience with Notts has been that this kind of signing never works. Once an older player has had a couple of years of not playing regularly it’s really hard to get that back, whatever their quality. Sometimes there’s an exception to the rule though, I guess.

Looks like we're signing Ibou Touray from Salford on a free. Very good left back in the division. I imagine he may be converted to a LCB for us if it's true. I'm pretty sure Salford will have wanted to keep him, no Salford fans on here to confirm or deny.

Really pleased with this one. The wide CBs are the most important part of our formation and with Wright and Touray in the team we can push them really high and create overloads regularly again.

Very strange signing indeed. I'd be looking to move him on. Third choice here and I don't think he'd be happy with that.

Yeah I’d agree with that generally. Did a decent job for us but I think we’ve significantly upgraded in Touray.

He’s definitely not got the legs to play LB or LWB effectively anymore.

Oliver started last season first choice with Cook on the bench, however, Oliver struggled to make any impact and was soon replaced by Cook who immediately started scoring for fun and was undroppable until Hughes 'rested' Cook after a few quiet games in December. Oliver was recalled to the starting line up at the end of December, scored a couple of goals but then dropped to the bench again after a month. Cook was recalled again and went on an incredible scoring run.

Oliver also got injured in training, I think it was, and missed the run in altogether.

Be interesting to see whether he still has a future with us, or whether he will want to move on

Other way round. It was his brother who donated a kidney to Kevin. Kevin was diagnosed at 20 years old with a kidney disease
