Some people have an incredible ability to allow something unbelievably mainstream to pass them by, and I've never quite understood how. Same as people who've never seen an episode of Friends - almost impossible seeing as it's been on about 5 channels for the past 25 years, and I'm pretty confident you could find an episode at any time of day.

You can't scroll through a TV guide without seeing it there. Never understood the hype about it, outclassed by numerous sitcoms, especially Brooklyn 99.

Danilo Orsi signs for Crawley for a fee.

A shame because most people liked him and he ended the season quite well, but the fact is he didn’t score enough goals for somebody who didn’t contribute a great deal round the pitch. Watch him score loads now.
What we need in a forward is someone who can hold the ball up, run into channels and bring others into play. We have Telfotd who is capable of getting a fair few himself if he has someone to do the donkey work.

In other news Brandon Mason has he contract mutually terminated. Back up left back who occasionally got asked to do a fish out of water as a right back. Decent player but never going to replace Tsaroulla in the team.

That will be me but that’s more to do with me finding American sitcom humour an oxymoron

He'll certainly run the channels and bring others in but not from a position whereby he's holding the ball up. He's more tricky than he is imposing. He's quite selfless which could suit a partnership with Telford but I think they'd struggle against a proper mean towering defence. He's a tidy player Orsi, I think it could be a shrewd signing. I'll be watching with a bit of interest.

Man City development midfielder Rowan McDonald appears to be training with us. Not sure if he’s set to sign or just on trial.

Craig Clay from Orient by the looks of things.
I really liked Clay when he was here I was gutted when we released him after promotion and he seems to have got even better since he left.
Also one of the nicest guys you could meet, chatted to him for a while at a service station on the way to an away game at Southport in 2015 (insert cool story bro gif here) and he is a proper top bloke.

Someone on our forum mentioned Keanan Bennetts. Pretty underwhelming if you look at his stats.

James Daly to Harrogate. I thought that’s one we might have been keen on. We need some wide players, one or two might be loanees but you’d think we’d sign a couple in the next few days.

Fantastic bloke on and off the pitch and a sterling servant to the club. Was hoping he’d get a League club, but he’ll do a steady enough job for you. Plays with plenty of heart and effort and does the dirty work; not a great deal of quality in his feet but he always tries to keep it on the deck. Prone to nosebleeds anywhere within 30 feet of the opposition area. More likely to score with a tackle than a shot.

Never heard of him, but I’m sure he’ll be a Rolls Royce.

Seems he’s had his most productive years at LM - replacement for Jake Young?

Looks like Richie Wellens doesn't follow who announces what judging by the tweet he put out wishing him all the best at Sutton

League Two is his level, was more of a squad player for us last season but still did a good job when called upon. Reality is there are players out there better (and younger) than him who can play Wellens style of football, Craig did it ok and got better at it but he was always likely to be released when we went up.

6 years service including winning 2 leagues and was our POTY when we won the National League, best of luck to him. A very good signing for Sutton this, he's also played with both Harry Smith and Lee Angol in his time with us.

Good signing for them, one of the best players in the National League last season.

Yeah decent player is Daly, very quick and direct. Not sure he's much better than top end National League personally but certainly a player that catches the eye.

Do you just watch a lot of NL or do you have some kind of vested interest in someone at that level? Just curious as you seem to have a decent knowledge of players down there which isn't the norm for someone that doesn't support a side that's slipped down into the abyss.

I'd agree with that. He was a pest but needs to develop his end product. That could always develop of course given his age.

I'd have been fairly disappointed if we'd have signed him.

I think I recall Joe saying he scouts at non-league level? King's Lynn jumps to my mind but (as with a lot that goes through my head) that could be absolute baloney.

Yeah I scout at NL level, have done for a couple of years. Watch far more of that level than anything else these days! Hopefully able to give some useful info for players coming into the league for those who haven't been able to see them before.

Bang on, I was with KL for a while but have been working for other NL clubs for the past year or so. Now spend my time between Norwich City academy and NL.

Fair play that mate. Did you see much of a young lad at Gateshead on loan from Boro called Kamil Conteh?

Saw Gateshead twice last season - once with and once without Conteh. They were definitely better with him, he's a good combative midfielder who can disrupt attacks nicely. Got a fair few yellows without getting a red, so suggestive of a player who knows where the line is in that regard. I can comfortably see him stepping up to a League Two side for this season, might even get a League One club taking a punt. I think he'll develop, in the nicest possible way, into a bit of a bastard.

Daly looked like a conference player for us after starting well, and didnt seem to do much better at Stevenage in the EFL.
Palace fans rated him though and im glad for him if he has improved enough to be a league player

ITK on Red Passion says we're after George Johnston of Bolton.

Probably opens the door for Cleworth to go out on loan.

Jack Powell confirmed signing from Crawley on a 2 year deal with an option of a further year.

Seems another good signing on paper, Crawley player of the season, sounds like a good passer and abit of a creative spark were missing in the midfield.

Scored a peach of a free kick at ours last season.

Crawley were/are a decent footballing side. They were just weak and flimsy. Some of their players are probably good pick ups. Crewe could do well this season, they finished last season well.

The only big thing against us is our away form. 5 wins in our last 46 in the league is a disgrace. Bell has only won twice away from home in the league since he took over. I'm willing to let last season under him slide as he didn't have the personnel he wanted but after two wretched years of away performances we need to massively improve if we want to compete for Top 7 next year.

Personally I think we'll be well clear of trouble but need another season to clear out the final remnants of dead wood and develop the likes of Tabiner, COR and Holicek further this campaign.

Signings like Jack Powell are excellent though and will really help us to push on. Also weakens another team in this division so I'm all for it.
