Not being funny, but signing a Cambridge bench warmer to play in our first team is a bit of a joke

Will he be likely to start then? I'm personally quite disappointed we've let Gaffney go on loan and I know a lot of U's fans feel the same - in short, we'd pretty much be playing him up top with Corr (aside from Tuesday which we're still getting our heads around).

The reason he's not known is that we signed him in January but he was injured then almost regained fitness and Luke Chadwick injured him again, this time in training. He finally got back to some sort of fitness this season and has been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise poor season.

Frankly, he's the most naturally gifted central attacker we've had since Adam Marriott and I hope this loan isn't the fore runner to him joining you permanently.

Interesting to hear, admittedly, I looked how many games he had played since joining, so my immediate reaction was why? Although he still hasn't played that much - although like you say, it could be due to fitness.

We will wait and see, he can't be that much worse than Blissett who has just gone on loan to Lincoln so I guess its not the end of the world

We had Nathan Blissett too a few years ago and he was awful. Gaffney is a much better player.

Until Williamson came along, Rory would have been my clear first choice to play with Corr in a front 2. I hope he gets his chance and shows he can do the business - it would be like getting a decent new striker in Jan to replace Williamson if it comes off.

It may also be a sign that we'll be going with 1 up front and Berry being used in a lively supporting 3, home and away.

Gas, talk to me about Blissett.
Big Bliss is the nicest guy you will ever meet... but that's part of the problem. He shows little to no aggression on the pitch, so despite being quite imposing he doesn't bully defenders in any way, shape or form. For his height he is really poor with his head too, which sort of renders him a poor big man option. He can't really play as any other type of striker though. Finishing isn't his strong point and his all-round awareness isn't great.

However, Bliss did play his part in our return to the FL at the first attempt and had a few really good games. He scored half a dozen(ish) goals and did set up a couple of important ones too, so despite what I've said he can definitely be useful at Conference level. He won't score one-on-ones very often, but he is so tenacious that when a goalkeeper tries to smother the ball it will often deflect up on to his knee and then into the back of the net.

He's a top guy and I hope he does a good job for you. Good luck Imps.

We've signed Danny Galbraith (ex Hibs). And he's not a loan signing for a change!!

I think thats 6 or 7 new players this week.

I think we had him on trial earlier this season.

Is there a thread for un-transfers.

Earlier this year we loaned Micheal Collins to you with a view to a permanent transfer come January.

I understand you have just sent him back as surplus to requirements.

We don't want him either.

Yep, apologies. Rovers should thank their lucky stars then, from what I've seen Gaffney is a terrific player. Carr, not so much.

Do you know whether he will be any good for us in the conference. Personally I am hoping he will because we aren't exactly free-scoring at the moment...

Carr, to be fair to him, has only played a couple of times for us since signing and the team as a whole was hardly setting the world alight so it wasn't easy for him. But that said he was utter shite.

He might be more suited to the Conference, he's got plenty of pace so I think could be effective if used correctly.

He was average. McNamara basically doesnt like anyone he inherited except for about 3 players. He's definitely not keen on experienced players on the downhill slope which probably applies to Collins. Youth, energy and hunger is his thing at the moment, which will probably last until he realises that having a side full of teenage loanees doesnt work. Not wanting to be negative or anything.

I didn't want to post this before matchday in case it changed;

So this week we have signed;
Stefan O'Connor (Arsenal)
Jordan Lussey (Bolton)
Mark Kitching (Middlesbrough)
Bradley Fewster (Middlesbrough)
Kenny McEvoy (Spurs)
Danny Galbraith (Unattached)

First five on loan, I personally think it's not a ridiculous move- bringing in some new enthusiasm who haven't had their confidence shot and haven't been around for the rot to set in...

Mark Ellis has extended his loan with us until January 2nd.

I'm still unsure about him, he's looked a bit dodgy in some games but at least it's another option.

Steven Rigg will be out for six weeks after picking up an injury in his first game for Barrow, he has returned for Carlisle. This is disappointing as the loan could have really helped him.

We need to stop loaning people to Barrow... I don't know how they do it, but they always seem to manage to injure them.

We're signing Addison Garnett from QPR.
19 year old and a defender. That's all I know.

Some early January rumours from down here, Chris Dagnall has just finished his spell in India with their season coming to an end and apparently we're interested in re-signing him, but Wycombe are also interested.

Isn't Tubbs injured at the moment? Before that he was starting and scoring.

I would be surprised if Dagnall came back. I'd imagine he would have a number of League One offers.

Also means Ollie Palmer might have limited game time :(
