I can sense a new rivalry developing. Haven't you lot got enough friends down you way?
We can always make room for another ;). It doesn't have to be this way, give us the lad back and we shall never speak of it again. :)

Tubbs 2 grand a week. Ha ha we payed him 3 a week on loan last season and that was 50 percent of his wage.

Collins from Oxford.

Cancelled his contract today, Murray loves an Oxford connection and I'm pretty sure we were linked with him this time last season.

Isn't he still playing in Spain? Assume he must have left
Almeria, but the club have said he can leave if he wants and he apparently fancies a return to the UK. Trained with us during the winter break in Spain. Whether we can afford his wage demands is another thing.

Only two decades after everyone else, then. Figures.

Looks like we might be interested in ex-Oldham wideman James Dayton. Which is a shame, as he's a bit crap.

He'll fit in well with the rest of your useless bunch then, as you continue your slide down the table.

Hes stated before that we are paying him less than dons offered though and that he wanted the move for other reasons

I didn't even know who that was.

but looking at his career he's played at Rangers and Sunderland so Carlisle area wouldn't bother him in slightest.

We've signed Mark Ellis from Shrewsbury on a 2 and a half year contract.

Decent signing. He's been solid most weeks, consistency in defence with him and Raynes now.

Joe Thompson has extended his contract with us until the end of the season. I don't think he offers an awful lot.

They're skint i read earlier this week.
Don't post on here very often but thought I'd mention the reason as to why everyone's leaving us at the moment.

We're not skint, we've actually got the 9th highest budget in League 1 according to our CEO. When we got promoted last season, almost our whole squad had a 20% pay rise which Mellon didn't even know about, I know BIZARRE!!! That limited us to signings in the summer, so we ended up scrapping the barrel e.g. Junior Brown, Matt Tootle, Shaun Whalley etc.

So now we have to sell some of those players that had a pay rise, such as Collins, Barnett, Ellis and Lawrence in order to actually sign some decent players to get out of this mess that we find ourselves in. After the embarrassment last weekend, we've allegedly placed our whole squad up for transfer or loan as we want to start fresh, wouldn't be so bad if it was May, but we're in January ffs!!

Don't get me wrong, our team is absolutely shambolic, but starting from fresh in January is either going to be a masterclass or a complete disaster (most likely the latter).

Anyway we shall see, a huge month in the clubs history with what's happening but we're certainly not in any money trouble (one of the few clubs in the FL to own their ground) for a start.

All the best to all teams in League 2 for the next 6 months, just hope that we're not joining you lot next year

He's Mellon's golden boy having played in every game so far this season and probably would have continued to do so until he got injured at Chesterfield last week and will be out for a few weeks.

Personally think he's one of the few players that has been consistently 'ok/good'. Great defensively but not so great going forward but he's certainly one of the better signings from signings from the summer. One of the very few players I'd keep during this rebuilding job that's going on.

Huge risk indeed!

Collins is a great signing for Northampton!! Not the quickest player but he certainly has an eye for goal. The only main issue for him is that his goals come in patches, he'll go scoring 3 games in a row then won't score for the next 3 for example. A massive confidence player but nonetheless you won't be finding to many better strikers than him in League 2, lucky to have him for your promotion charge.

Some Oxford fan posted on Exeweb that they've offered big bucks for our young CB Jordan Moore-Taylor.

I'd be surprised if we sold to another L2 club and, as he's been largely fantastic for us I'd be disappointed with anything under 500k and a sell on.

Hopefully when he doesn't score Marc Richards can!

With regards to you not being skint -- Thank god for that. I hate it when any club goes to the wall there fault or not. I can see what your club are trying to achieve but it seems very risky. Was LL any good for you recently or was it simply get him off the wage bill ?

Cook on record today saying that with the form of Lavery and McNulty, Tubbs' playing time isn't going to be great and wouldn't stand in his way if he wanted to leave.

Would there be a fee involved? I know we were interested before.

He's contracted to us until summer 2017 so yeah, you would have to pay for him.

I don't think we'd pay for Tubbs. If DC is interested in signing him I think it would be a loan until the end of the season. We were definitely interested before as Aber says, so I wouldn't rule it out. Reckon Gaffney is still the main striking target though.

Loan with wages paid and a recall clause would be ideal. Wouldnt want to play against him this season

We'll have him. Surely it's better to give him to one of us shit teams and try to take points off your rivals.
