Rumours on our FB page that we've signed a keeper from Southampton. Not sure who, could be Jack Bycroft who's on loan at Oxford City currently. Seems the most likely candidate as the others are playing much further down the pyramid and I wouldn't be confident of them making the jump up.

He was at the Alex game today. I don't think it means anything - Ashley Westwood, Matt Tootle and Callum Ainley were all there as well and I don't think we're signing any of those. Kirk has had a tough time of it at Charlton and he probably needs to go somewhere where he'll be looked after a bit while he gets his confidence back. I think being back in the North West would help too.

Thanks. I'm unsure but his time at Charlton may have overlapped with Adkins. If Apter doesn't return and Hawkes goes, we'll definitely be needing a wide player.

Their owners are just throwing everything at it instantly to climb up the leagues when it should be a marathon not a race. So there will be no sympathy for them from me if they go bust.

the whole fanbase? really? if you were doing any sort of due diligence then you would clearly see that most are still realistic, and every time someone signs that is unexpected it blows our minds. there is certainly no entitlement or expectancy from most on RP.

Ainley is injured at the moment. Was probably just back home for Christmas so went to see Crewe with his old pals. Hasn't looked anywhere near as bad as has been suggested from what we've seen. Jury definitely still out, but he's certainly not the no hoper we were led to believe.

Ah I should've known he was suffering his annual winter injury around Christmas. Think this is the fourth or fifth season running for him now!

He can't stay fit at all that's why he's finished at this level in my eyes. He misses at least 15-20 games a season usually and, when he's fit, the goals and assists return from him is pretty insignificant. Clearly technically gifted but not sure he has the application to play the role he's supposedly best at playing and these fitness issues will haunt him for the rest of his playing days given they happen so regularly.

Kirk was probably his favourite player he ever managed. He always defended him when a certain section of fans were constantly giving him shit and Kirk repaid the faith in him with the best performances of his career in 2019-20. Artell will desperately want him but I'm sure Kirk will have plenty of options closer to home which will be more appealing for him.
