Callum Morton recalled by Salford. No surprise but bit of a loss for us.

I've seen a couple of Rumours our end regarding Sam Dalby from you in the last week or so not heard anything in the last few days however so probably nonsense.

I like Dalby myself, but as you can see he splits opinions.

Doubt he'd be cheap.

You don't need to upgrade your strikers because someone on your forum claims that Elliot Lee would be the best player in L1 and Mullin will be a nightmare for L1 defences.

And as we all know one fans opinions on a messageboard is shared by the entire fanbase.

Although tbf Elliot Lee would be one of the best players in League one.

Losing Okonkwo would kill us.

Can't see Dalby going anywhere, if he did I'd imagine it would be a loan. Has potential just can't score in the league. One of our highest assisters, Parky loves him. I wouldn't be against a loan

We've signed 20 year old Preston midfielder Lewis Leigh on loan. Looks like a tidy, ball playing CM which we badly need more of. The worry is this is the precursor to losing Joe White, as rumours around his future continue to circulate. I doubt, with Joel Tabiner and Matus Holicek coming back shortly(fingers crossed they do anyway), that we are going to run with 4 CMs under the age of 20 and Conor Thomas. I would expect White to go back to Newcastle and hopefully we find the budget to sign another experienced option in there.

Will be gutted if we end up losing White, but today's signing looks like a replacement. The Preston lad seems decent very good reviews from his loan spell at Bromley that he's just been recalled from. But losing White will hurt as he's levels above. Especially if he goes to Stockport, if he's recalled I hope he goes to a higher division.
I'm no expert on Leigh, only seen him play briefly but he's more of a ball winner than a playmaker by all accounts, although he's technically good. Takes a very good corner and set piece.

Only doubt is his fitness, he seems to struggle to get a run of games going and to last 90 minutes. If it wasn't for that, I think he'd be involved with our squad.

SF looks as if you were right in respect to Whiteman, any chance you will offload him for less than what he’s worth this month before getting bugger all in the summer?

Apparently we are signing a midfielder tomorrow, more than likely it will be a young kid on loan

I'm ecstatic that Stockport have apparently accepted our bid for Joe Lewis. Am I being greedy in wanting Conor Lemonheigh-Evans to remain with us on loan for the season? I doubt that we could afford him having apparently paid for Lewis but there's still a place for him which he couldn't get at Stockport.

Can't believe you signed him from us thought he was done at this level 2 years ago
Absolute world beater in friendlies. He’s had an easy ride stemming from his leg break in his first ever game - ironically, against Doncaster.

I couldn’t tell you what his best position is, or even what his best attributes are.

Cracking lad off the pitch, by all accounts.

Does he still run round like a bit of a headless chicken? He doesn't seem to have kicked on after his Northampton loan spell (not helped by a year or two of long lay-offs).

L2'ers (are there any Colchester fans on here?), it sounds like we're signing Joe Taylor on loan after his Colchester spell was cut short - thoughts?

Be a novelty to play with a striker seen as we've basically had to play without one for September, October, November and December.

From his point of view, i'd guess it could be worth waiting till the summer, as he could likely command a good signing on fee and negotiate a decent wage. I could see the club trying to cash in for half a million or so this month, but it's down to the player at the end of the day.

We've been linked to a few midfielders on loan who would seem a direct replacement.

I'm not sure if his stock is as high as it was a year ago, so i'm not sure what type of move he'll get. I'd guess another mid-table Championship side who pay bigger wages than us, rather than a parachute club.

For somebody quite short, he's very well built/stocky so more than holds his own physically and he is rapid too - his goal at Accrington here is a good example of his pace:

He's got an excellent, powerful strike on him and positionally he is very good in and around the box so is in the right place for a few tap ins too - we tweeted all of his goals yesterday which show a bit of variety: https://x.com/ColU_Official/status/1744381919427547188?s=20

Over the past couple of months he's seemed to become visibly frustrated with the rest of the team as we've regressed from some early season promise. Initially we often had two up front and were creating plenty of chances but more recently, probably due to injuries more than anything, he's been playing on his own with less and less service so he's appeared to become quite fed up.

He's clearly shown he can more than cut it at this level though and I think he'd make the step up just fine. Noticed talk of him maybe going to Bolton too. And, as I write that, I see he was confirmed at Lincoln about an hour ago haha!

He was quite good against us in our 5-3 win.

Pereira the 2nd loanee to return to parent club so far following Mellor. Showed a bit of promise but didn’t really play enough. Morison looking for quality over quantity in the loan market so we’ll see what he can bring in. It’ll likely only be loanees in this month.

He does yes. Although at times he looks dangerous/causes a few problems. Was great against Crawley, more of that and he'd score a good amount at this level I reckon.

Biggest issue is injuries, can't seem to stay fit for long, arrived injured and then missed another two months this season. Although of course now he is actually fit and has had a run of games he'll probably go back and score a few for Salford.

We've signed Archie Mair (GK) and Gwion Edwards (Winger) so far, whilst we're losing all our loanees, so will be down to the bare bones by the end of today probably!

We've lost our Manager, Assistant and Head of Recruitment in the space of a month and then hired an inexperienced new gaffer. Ged has a big task on his hands and sounds like he's running around doing everything himself behind the scenes.

Cleary our dire ownership situation is hitting us hard now and I'd take staying up as a target for the rest of the campaign. It's sad to see how much we've regressed in the last 3 months. One normal campaign is all I ask for!
Gwion was an absolute star for Crawley. Out and out winger but also has a decent finish.

I'd lost track of what he was up to and it seems a bit odd that he is at Morecambe (no offence). If you get the player we had you will be in for a treat.
