Yep so if Touray is contracted will Rydel get chopped? Is kind of what I was getting at. Bit of headscratcher for DC or a costly exercise for the owners. I think the most likely/logical scenario is Touray gets paid up and is on his way going off what you've said in your previous post?

Anyway, quite why I've decided to not just weigh in on but start a Stockport left back/wing back debate, I don't know. We won't end up with any of them!
I think we’ll keep probably keep Touray, sign Rydel to a new contract and add someone as well. We started the season with a 3rd LWB in Hippolyte (though he can also play in midfield) but spent most of the campaign injured as well. He and Bristow will both probably leave.

Interestingly we’re in a very similar situation at RB/RWB. MSH is currently out with a serious injury and is incredibly injury prone, is out of contract in the summer but is our best player in that position when fit. Knoyle like Touray hasn’t been at his best this season but is in contract. Between the two of them you have one who’s quality but can’t stay fit and another who you’d worry about being asked to start regularly in L1 unless their form improved next season.

Not many. Moore-Taylor is still decent but injury prone and Stevens is still here but he's crocked and not the same player, Bernard was a back up when we went up but isn't the best. That's it, everyone else has gone.

As for the rest, do we have any good players? Well we finished 17 points adrift of 23rd in L1 with even less points then you've got this year and are now almost certainly finishing bottom of L2. If they're good they aren't fucking showing it, even under a top class manager like Cotterill.

I suppose a few L2 clubs might come in for Inniss, McCann, Osadebe & McAllister. Possibly Doidge too. Tbh I'm not bothered if the whole squad leave.
Agree totally with this, the only players that I would really want to keep are those you name as being attractive to others. My main worry is that our shambolic method of signing players has brought some in on long contracts without relegation release clauses...Fankaty Dabo on what is reputed to be nearly £5k per week could be a bit of a noose around our neck financially in the National League, there will be clubs operating a whole squad on a couple of times that amount, to say nothing of some of the other members of our squad.

I am pretty much with you on hoping for a total rebuild, I think Cotterill will have an idea of who he wants to try and get us back to the Football League and I don't see too many of the current squad featuring in his plans. Whatever happens, we need to sort our act out quickly, we cannot afford to arrive in the National League in a state of disarray...or our business model of the last couple of seasons could well repeat itself.

Confirmed an hour and a quarter before kick off... Max Stryjek from Wycombe.

One of the goals he let in today looked like a shocker to be fair, but he’s generally pretty good. He’s actually been our #1 keeper for most of the season and only lost the top spot recently.

Apologies if this has been requested/posted elsewhere, but is there a post/thread outlining which players are out of contract this summer - per club/league.

Just a compiled view as opposed to trawling through a load of posts?

I've been meaning to start a retain/release opinion thread mate, might get on that today/tomorrow. If anyone else reading this wants to though, please go for it.

Don't tempt fate by starting it before we are confirmed as being here

I think my thoughts would be the same for every one of our players regardless of whether we'll be in L2 or the NL tbh.

Yes DA has got his stencil set out preparing his big BOGOF poster - buy Alex Hunt and get Abo Eisa free (or vice versa)

Odd about Tunnicliffe at Wrexham being injury prone.

He was pretty much ever present for us for two seasons and for Solihull Moors before that. Definitely and decent centre half as well.

If you do release him and Moors come up I reckon he may end up there as its pretty much his home town club.

Wouldn't surprise me if we might look at him also seems a decent player from what I know.

Ronnie Moore was at our last two home games. Scouting for someone. No idea who.

I’d keep Chapman, Alexander has given him next to no chances but even from the bench he’s got more assists than most starters.

Wrexham fans, what happened with Jack Marriot? Did he ever play for you after you signed him and how long did you sign him for?

Contracted till 2025.

Chapman is a good player but Alexander didn't fancy him. Mind you, he didn't fancy Pointon until a few weeks ago either and that made him look like a clown.

Heard we’re after a couple from Morecambe - Farrend Rawson and Jake Taylor.

Rawson seems eminently sensible, local lad and big centre back with loads of games under his belt at this level. Just what we need really. Taylor is apparently a technically gifted but injury prone midfielder which makes sense because we are simply never going to learn.

Elliot Watt confirms he’s leaving Salford.

Could be a good signing for someone, but maybe he’s looking at League 1 now after some good years at this level.

We had Taylor before he went to Morecambe last season. Pretty much as you described. Good player with a nice passing range but gets injured tying his shoelaces. Scored a few goals when he initially came to us on loan from Forest but hasn’t replicated that since. Wouldn’t have minded him staying at Vale but DC always seemed pretty reluctant with him even when he was fit.

You're right about Taylor, hasn't played a lot for us due to numerous injuries, which is frustrating because he's a tidy player. He had just started to find his role with us in the last couple of months, sitting deep and moving the ball around nicely, but then he gets injured again.

Rawson is a typical league 2 defender and looked rock solid when he first arrived, but again has totally gone off the boil recently. Sounds like a top bloke off the pitch too, heavily gets involved in the Community stuff.

Head on a stick kind of centreback, not the best in terms of playing out etc. Hearing the ball smack off his slabhead is one of the purest sounds you'll hear in League 2.
