Always liked Chapman, defended him on our boards when he was played out of position last season as I felt he still did alright. His injury was very unlucky, he was showing his best form for us at the time, felt other than a couple of glimpses this season though he'd lost a certain something, which I suppose he can't be blamed when he's had a bad injury and little playing time.

He seems to have a difficulty with mentality though, before coming to us there was talk of he was too far away from home at Blackburn. So I think we can presume he is a homebird like Vernam, so hopefully he will show his best form for the pools. That said he has had a career in decline and that can be difficult to overcome, so I'm not as convinced as my colleagues that he'll be a success.

Would love Chapman at Pools, hopefully a lot better than that show pony Cooke, total stinker that lad.

All these after Smith, even though he's ancient he would still command a hefty wage based on his performances this season. When he's on form you physically cannot stop him from doing what he wants, no centre back can shift him when he's backing in holding the ball up and he wins everything aerially.

Aden Flint stopped him, he did manage to drift away and found himself being marked by one of our full backs for a cross and obviously scored mind!

What's Ben Whitfield like? Barrow fans?

Just seen he is out of contract and heard we could be interested..
Good player, top scorer (i think) - has been offered a new deal, but if i had to guess i'd say he'll be at Bradford next season if he's not with us as he's from somewhere around that area.

Aye, he's from Bingley. Be surprised if we signed him tbh.

Ben Tozer, Luke Young, Aaron Hayden and Jordan Tunnicliffe have all been released today. Any rumours from people in here (whose usernames don't rhyme with lava) of any heading to their clubs?

Pretty sure we showed interest in Young in January from what i have been told so we may revisit that now he is free.

I could only see him coming to us if Jamie Walker rejects his new contract offer.

Whitfield is a Bngley lad who spent about 10 years with us as a schoolboy and youth player.

I'd be happy if we signed Matt Smith or Paddy Madden, especially Madden.

Na we need a different profile to go along with Armstrong and Kelly.

Pace and movement, someone with a bit of energy.

Is Drummond from Macclesfield a done thing?

Because if it is, and we’re looking at Madden, then surely spells the end for Quig

Can't see us being bothered about Paddy Madden

We are often linked with Raggett. Mainly because he is a local lad.

Strongest rumours on our end seem to be...

Sounds promising then.

Holy for us last year in L2 was quite a solid keeper and he broke our club record for most clean sheets in a season.

He's a great character to have around too and saved a penalty at Wembley in our play off shootout, but L1 was just a step too high for him and he lost his confidence so a fresh start elsewhere will be right for him.

Also he is the tallest football player in England, maybe even Europe too.

Holy is huge (6ft9) and has long arms, so he must be alright. Covers a lot of the goal if nothing else.

He's a confidence player though, if he made a mistake that costed us he could get stuck in a bit of a rut, but if he's keeping clean sheets then on his day nothing gets passed him.

Would be a fairly decent signing for any team at this level.

That's true of most keepers at this level, one or two mistakes or start conceding a few and suddenly they can go from solid to a nervous wreak. Happens a lot with our keepers for some reason...

I remember Holy looked decent against us for Port Vale a couple of years back after he replaced that Brazilian liability they had in goal.
