Hey no hatred on my part. Having spent half a decade in the NL, faced down regional football and nearly lost our club, supporters trust ownership etc, there is some parallels. I'm happy for and even a bit jealous of the success they've had. We all know what it's like to have a shit club in the lower leagues. I just always found the 'what an underdog story' line hard to swallow as Parky dives into his pit of expensive signings like scrooge mcduck. It's success found with money, but more power to them for it.
Oh yeah it's complete nonsense. The Americans love it though.
It was interesting to hear a lot of US Bournemouth fans last weekend who started following them after a documentary was aired in the US. They seemed to want to follow plucky little teams punching above their odds (ignore Bournemouths billionaire owner). The EFL should heavily market itself over there, because one thing the Football league isn't short of is historically down on their luck teams from crappy towns.
