He was lauded on his return in January. But because he wasn't the Charlie Kirk of his peak, fans went off him, which I found bizarre given he was clearly nowhere near match fit and coming into a group he didn't know midway through the season and trying to bed in.

He was a bit disappointing, but he still had 3 nearly assists on goals against Notts County, Morecambe and Colchester and could have bagged a couple of goals as well. But they never showed up in the stats column.

Honestly, I'd have kept him over Chris Long any day of the week and I genuinely think with a proper run, he could return to what he was in his peak years. Use him on the left wing and he could easily be a 15 G/A player.

But, he could also be on the slide down into non-league irrelevance if his next move doesn't work.
Would agree with most of this, it was always going to be tough for him - he hadn't even had a club for 6 weeks when we signed him - but we got a few glimpses of the real Charlie Kirk. He put in an absolutely magnificent solo performance in the second half against FGR but it tends to get forgotten because we lost in embarrassing circumstances.

He's very much a confidence player and I suspect he needs to feel loved - I'd love to see him do well wherever he goes next.

He wanted more than we could offer him in Jan, so I do wonder if wages are proving to be a bit of a stickler. I'm still in two minds about whether I'd want him here, he's a risk but you'd probably say a bit of a calculated risk. Problem with us is that our other options in the wide forward roles are Vernam coming off the back of an injury ravaged season and a completely unproven (in England) Icelandic international. Throw Kirk into the mix and it has the potential to be anywhere from amazing to falling flat on its face. No idea if we're genuinely in for him but it's a rumour that hasn't gone away all summer.

We have just signed Tom McGill on a season-long loan from Brighton.

Thanks. Having seen the match clips, it definitely wasn’t Kirk and there is a suggestion he’s currently on trial at Oldham.

I thought you guys loved Taylor Perry?

I'm very meh on the signing - it's experience, which we need, but it's not exciting.

You've also got George Lloyd - lovely lad, hard worker, doesn't score goals.

He started off well but has gone so far downhill I question how he’s a professional footballer at times. Seems like he has an attitude problem. Rumours that we’re looking to offload him but can’t find anyone to take him unfortunately.

'some injury issues' is a bit of an understatement!

Got injured v MK Dons and was out for well over a year and only came back for the final few games of last season, before swanning off without so much as a goodbye.

Very good player though, we wanted to keep him, but has been ravaged by injuries all his career so I was glad to see him gone.

Was on trial at Stockport the other week so I guess they opted not to sign him.

Went to Spain with us for a training camp too, not sure we were ever thinking of signing him tbh. Can't remember the last time we signed a trialist. Our Assistant Manager Clint Hill and one of our coaches Andy Magnan knew him well so probably just trying to help him get as fit as he could to help him get the best move he can possibly get.

He had two spells with us on loan from Wolves. The first one he was brilliant, really looked a prospect, but picked up an injury and it was cut short. The second one was a disaster. Just didn't seem interested anymore. A shame if it has gone south for him, because he seemed to start like a train with you guys last season.

Nothing our end - I'll believe it when I see it.

Ryan Bowman is set to be confirmed and that gives us Bowman, Taylor, Dulson and Keena, with a couple of first year pros. Don't see us splashing out for another forward unless we let one of them go, and two of them are summer signings.

Jordan is a very good player. If it was'nt for his injuries ( He's had lots ) He would still be playing in the Premier league for Liverpool.

Ben Heneghan signs for Vale on a 2 year contract. Formerly of Sheff Wed and Fleetwood. No doubt we need to strengthen what looks a really flaky defence so will get every chance to earn a place in the team.

Can't say I'm over familiar with him but Wednesday fans seem to rate him. He seems like a big head it and kick it type defender, which is what we need. Bit of pace in full back/wide areas and I think that’s us done.

Jordan on Bantam Talk. He usually gets decent rumours.

Just seen his posts. Hope we can move him on. Nothing against Oliver - he seems a decent lad. Don't rate him and he's on really good money apparently.
