Gary McSheffrey to be confirmed next week and Mathieu Baudry on a two year deal.

Our ex. Captain Mathieu Baudry has joined Doncaster.

A good signing for them, a ball playing centre back who did well for us, although the last two years his form hasn't been as good - but he wasn't the only one who has suffered from that here since the Italians have arrived....

Prone to the odd brainfart of giving the ball away in bad areas, but an all round good defender.

A change of club might mean he gets his form back, which he had in 2014 when he was excellent for us.

Good to hear as our defence has been bloody awful for 3 years, the main reason we were relegated.

Most underrated player we've had that I can recall by certain sections of our fan base because he doesn't go in for crunching tackles, which is because his reading of the game is so much superior to those around him. Strong in the air, excellent passing range... Shouldn't be in this league.

Infact I'd go as far as to say Mathieu Baudry would get into my best Orient XI since I started watching them... (Tamika Mkandawire would be the other centre back, and in fairness he was better than Baudry in probably every way)

Craig Disley is the first of our players offered new deals to sign it.

Obvious one this one, I suspect this season will be a bridge too far for him mind.

Disley still plays? Feels like he's been around forever

Is it just me, but has this place suddenly been taken over by Grimsby, Doncaster and Mansfield fans?!

Something to take into account for the first time this season, is the closure of the "emergency loan" loophole. No longer, can teams after the summer and winter transfer windows sign players for between 1-3 months to bring it into line with the rest of Europe.

Interesting to see what sort of impact this will have. Deadline Day will become a lot more meaningful, with teams potentially stockpiling players for a rainy day.

I can see the positives and negatives of this. On one hand, it enables fringe players from the higher leagues to get meaningful match time under their belts, as the development league clearly doesn't offer this. But on the other side of the argument, it could be said some clubs have been able to survive with a small squad size, relying on loads of loan players from other clubs. Some teams (like Gateshead for instance with Newcastle) are regionally advantaged, being an unofficial 'feeder' club.

I'd imagine Penn will mainly be a squad player, another solid player with L2 experience. Some fans are complaining we're signing too many midfielders, can't win with them. Others are complaining that we need to strengthen in defence and attack.

We only have 5 midfielders including the 3 we've signed this week. And that's if you class Adams as a midfielder, to me he's more of an wide attacker.

Russell Penn should be a good squad signing for us, one of York's few better players. He might not be the most glamorous midfielder but he is hard working and a leader, that's what you need in this division.

No they won't because they don't take this league seriously enough and that will bite them so hard in the arse.

What a load of bollocks of course we do. The fact that we are making signings and building the squad this early so that pre season for the first time in 3 years will enable us to gel before the first game is enough indication that we are.

I don't necessarily subscribe to the theory that if you sign hoards of 'highly rated' players early enough, it has such a positive influence. We did exactly the same last season but it never gelled and ended up 11th.

I'm not saying it will work, I think you will find most Donny fans are unsure about Fergie. I was just pointing out that we are taking it seriously.

Yeah but you were signing the likes of CMS were signing genuinely good young ish players who've proven themself in this league recently. Rowe is our only highly named player and judging by last years performances it shouldn't be an issue.

Not a transfer, but Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu has signed a new two year deal. Spent the pill of the last two years injured however before that fantastic for us. Seems to be filly fit now so hopefully he can get back to his unplayable best.

We don't all have £4.5m to spend on players! Surely you don't meet the wage cap rules with such expenditure?

Very happy with this. Up to 13 first team pros + 7 development players + 2 transfer listed.

We won't be breaking any wave cap rules
So Doncaster will be turning over £8m this year? I don't think so.
We'll be getting similar (if not bigger) crowds, yet will turn over less than £5m, even with transfer income.

Surprised at this. I reckon we will turnover £5m this year, Just your ticket revenue must be over £3m, plus TV\premiership money, merchandise etc..

But don't Barnet have other ancillary revenues at your stadium complex? If that's not the case, with 2,000 crowds, you'd turn over less than £2m a year.
