Ryan Lowe signs for Crewe, and on a 1 year deal as well. Really not sure why he turned down Bury to come here, think he needs his sanity testing. In all seriousness though, it's a solid signing for us I hope. I'm hoping he can have an influence of the other forwards we have as they desperately need some mentoring and advice from someone not named Davis or Collins.

1 down, 3 to go now.

I imagine some kind of coaching (management pls, jk) role is in the offing for him.

Good to have him back (again).

We've signed left-back James Jennings from FGR. Pleased with this, arguably the best left-back in the NL last season.

Good lad Jennings was surprised when we let him go couple of seasons ago but when we have Mal "Jairzinho" Benning at full back it eased it a bit.

Great left peg, has a wobble positionally every now and again but that's the level we live at

Happy with the signing of Jennings. Seems to have done well at FGR but not going to pretend I know all that much about him.

Pretty much confirms the exit of George McLennan though.

George Taft seen leaving Field Mill today and we are about to announce a signing. Don't know much about him but I'd imagine he's Taffazolli's replacement.

Jennings was average for us in a very poor side. He's conference at Best Buy a likeable character so good luck to him.

We've signed George Taft from button... Very good addition to the back line

He played at left back and (less frequently) on the left of a 3 for us. Big enough and just about fast enough for both jobs and has a pass as well. Good signing.

I'm part of the supporters trust so yes I'm aware of a lot within the club.

But surely you must admit that this level is the natural/historical league for your lot? It's sure as hell is for us.

Jennings and Taft have both been with us. Jennings is decent going forward but seems to lack any positional sense at all from time to time. He's got a good left foot when he chooses to use it though.

Taft is ok though I wasn't that convinced by him when we had him on loan last season. Josh Coulson is a better player and I don't even think he's a world beater. If we'd retained Taft, he would have been behind Legge and Coulson, fighting for a place on the bench with Mark Roberts. Taft is also definitely a centre back and not a full back.

Do Barnet still do the 'give it to Akinde and hope he wins a pen' tactic?

That tactic still works, although unfortunately a lot more defenders and goalkeepers tend to have something between their ears at this level.

I think it was only just about double figures for penalties earned this season.

I'm actually genuinely struggling to think of a ex-Crewe player currently playing who hasn't been suggested as a potential signing in the last few weeks. It is tradition every summer, mind you.

Zane Banton signs his 1-year contract extension with the option for another. Just Pelly Ruddock to confirm his presence with us next season.

Sordell from Colchester linked as well. Think we are in for any one that could kick a ball last season

Like the sound of O'shea and Williams but personally would avoid Sordell, he's not progressed like I thought he would.

We're in talks with Scott Wagstaff according some random poster on Exeweb. Surely bollocks as he's pretty good isn't he?

Russell Penn from York on a 1 year deal. Can't imagine he's been brought in with any big expectations, just one to make up the numbers I guess...

We were linked with him. Can't say I'm too devastated to have supposedly missed out.

Squad player I presume. Captain at York so not too bad a signing in any case.
