I think you Donny fans are in for a bit of a shock if you think signings players and winning the league on paper. We had an "excellent" summer of business this time last year. On paper we were going up. The rest is history.

That sounds just like the Conference plus with shit refs thrown in for good measure that let teams get away with it!

It isn't that bad. Accy, Northampton, Oxford, Pompey and Rovers played some nice attacking football last season. There was others too. You get some negative teams full of cloggers but that's no different to any other season.

Yer not the only ones.

We did play the most fun football in the league for half of the season, mind.

Donny fans could just copy and paste what all the Notts County fans were saying this time last year and save time.

It's only one fans opinion, I'm impressed with the business we've done because normally we don't sign anyone until a week before the season kicks off. I'm also well aware that promotion is won on the pitch not paper.

Someone on twitter who called pretty much every one of our transfers last summer is saying we have signed Glen Rea on a two year deal.

Would be happy with that. Great young player, Jones knows him well. Can either plan CB or as a defensive midfielder. If its accurate, then I reckon we need a GK and an Attacking midfielder. If its true of course...

I saw this article earlier: http://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/14547192.Blues_boss_Brown_expects_to_miss_out_on_signing_Rea/ which seems to imply Southend wont be signing him and he'll be going to a club in League 2.

Good signing for Inverness that, reckon he'll score goals up in Scotland.

I don't know too much about about him. He'll hopefully prove to be a good signing.

Says on factual webpage Wikipedia that Rhys Bennett's middle name is Gordon. I hope that nobody has managed to slip through their jailhouse doors security to breach that beauty.

Looks a decent signing though.

We need 2 bloody wingers - we've got no front line, fit wingers on our books (I don't count McQuoid as one particularly)

Murray seems to be recruiting very well this summer. Tafazoli or whatever he's called will be a big loss though.

Will Norris has signed a new three year deal. This kid is the real deal between the sticks and apparently Premier League clubs have been scouting him.

I would be surprised if he's still here in 18/24 months time.

True, Think that was always to be expected though. Mind you that Taft seems a good replacement. Time will tell. On paper we've made some good signings but it's never that simple!

I'll respectfully disagree. Primarily because Nathan Jones has done nothing to suggest he intends to play with out and out wingers. He has tended to either play a central diamond or a sort of 4-3-3 with wing forward. McQuoid, Marriott and Banton are more than capable of that.

Increased budget makes it easier for Murray.

Good to have a keeper we can rely on. I presume there's a release clause, I just hope we've got a substantial one in place.

Rumours on our forum linking us to Shaun Miller from Morecambe.

I'd be fairly happy with this if it came off. Another goal scorer to go along with Wyke and Ibehre.

Pelly has also pretty much made the transition to winger now as well, so we have a couple of players who can play those positions.

Personally think central midfield needs a major looking at, Smith and Lee are not good enough and Doyle i dont think will be around all that much longer after some pointed comments made a few weeks back and whilst I liked the look of Bakinson I would be shocked if he played a significant starting roll next season at any point. Plus we weren't banking to lose McCourt. Even with Rea signing, who is more of a defender who I can do a job from what I understand, I think we are missing at least 1 decent central midfield player at the least.

Not sure how this is all going to work with Jones stated aim of 20 players.
