Gwion Edwards has been sold for a six figure sum to Posh! Jokes about it being £1000.01 aside that's got to help our coffers this season. I do not know how much he has actually gone for but that's what the BBC state. An awful lot of money for a league two footballer. I guessed he was off after we signed the Dutch fella who plays in the same position but I'm still sad to see h in m go.

What happened to all the money at Crawley? What is your current budget like in comparison to the rest of League Two?

It's quite shocking that they are selling him behind the manager's back. Adam Murray will feel undermined when this goes through.

I've texted my source again to try and get some more specific details. He's at Glastonbury at the moment so I may not get a reply until tomorrow, but as soon as I do I'll keep you posted.

Oh. Keeper Mitch Beeney signs on a six month loan from Chelsea academy. He is a bit local to us. A bloke I work with went to school with him. Says he is a good keeper but a right J Arthur.
Been on the bench for Chelsea a couple of times but I've no idea how good he is.
We now have 2 keepers and a coach who is registered to play there. Seems a bit excessive for this level but the new loan rules probably mean this is a good thing.

The money man got bored and slashed the budget. He has now sold to a Turkish millionaire steel magnet Ziya Eren who has promised to increase last season's budget by ten percent. We did all think that Yates had a budget in the lower half of the league but words from the club suggest it was actually about middle but he had a lot of legacy pay scales that ate most of it. None of the big earners are left now so we are looking good for the season ahead if, big if, new coach Dermot Drummy gets it right.

Is your source Tom Watson MP?

I also asked my own source about this issue - she says if I don't cut the grass and clean the Windows then I can't go out for a pint at 4 o'clock.

My source (maybe the same as hellogregory's) tells me that Notts will sign Carl Dickinson and Michael O'Connor this week, if those moves happen then lump on the Green to Carlisle rumour being true as well.

I'm told that Portsmouth's Ben Davies signing for us is all done but not being announced until Thursday when his Portsmouth contract runs out.

I expect we will see a large number of pre arranged deals announced on 1st July.

Hopefully we will have some defenders sign asap

This Orient fan seems to have a strange obsession with us, despite them having Ollie fucking Palmer as the focal point of their attack.

Think I have made a grand total of three posts about Grimsby, but if you want to call that obsessive be my guest. Heaven forfend I shouldn't rate a couple of your signings/targets, but I'll assume that I'm getting under your skin because you're as concerned about them as I am.

ps. Ollie Palmer will be fourth choice at best this season, so perhaps he'll be available for you to try to sign him on loan later in the year when you're floundering amongst Crawley and Stevenage in a desperate bid to retain your league status.

pps. Try not to release the celebratory balloons and pitch invade too early this year.

Obsessive might've been strong. Doesn't stop the posts you have made being a bit too focused on us. How about wait until the season starts before making opinions on us, yeah? You've based your opinion on Dom Vose on 3 seasons ago and (I'm guessing) have yet to see him play since. We've rebuilt the team because maybe we weren't good enough to survive perhaps? Or even push for the playoffs? Disregarding the several decent signings we've made is fine though.

For the clamour of your brilliant players and your massive budget last year, you didn't exactly excel last year yourselves.

It appears my source was on the money with the first part. Expect more movement on the Green deal this week. Although it's rumoured a couple of League 1 teams are trying to hijack the deal.

Just a quick update on where we're at with Matt Green to Carlisle. I've spoken to my source again this morning. It seems I misunderstood slightly, I thought the fee has been agreed but it hasn't. The situation is that the player expressed his desire to leave Mansfield to join Carlisle, so Mansfield have reluctantly agreed to that and talks are ongoing between the 2 clubs over a transfer fee. The personal terms/contract etc are all in place so once the 2 clubs reach an agreement, it should go through pretty quickly. They expect a deal to be finalised this week.

So it is happening.

I've looked in to this further too. It seems that Green is actually a massive fan of Eddie Stobart trucks: he collects all of the number plates and the official toys and merchandise - he's bloody obsessed by anything big, eighteen wheeled and green/white/red. He's even considered changing his goal celebration to one that includes tugging on an imaginary truck horn cord - 'honk honk'.

Stags have counted his fascination by offering to secure him a house overlooking the M1, but in truth, everyone will realise that his heart is set on being closer to the illustrious Eddie headquarters, dammit.

My source tells me Matt Green can still run the 100 Meters in 10 seconds

Edit: in all fairness RB is usually on the money with these things

Tom Davies off to Pompey then. Feels sorry for Accrington and their fans. They were the best side at the Abbey last season and deserved to go up.

Saying that, thank you for Piero Mingoia. :bg:

Radio Stoke saying Notts signing Richard Duffy from Vale.

Might as well be calling Meadow Lane "Vale Park East" if they sign Dickinson and O'Connor as well...

Signed for Eastleigh then quit after 1 month to sign for County. Shrewsbury signed three of our players from last season, now Notts! Duffy is experienced but has been very on/off last two seasons.

Now you know how we often feel with you lot signing our freebies! Forgot he actually signed for Eastleigh but that's probably why they signed Dugdale...

I think Sheridan misunderstood it when he was told to build a more valiant team...

We are turning into Port Vale. Expect us to be a thoroughly nasty side next season. About chuffin time too. Sick of seeing us bullied off the pitch far too often
