To be fair, they're more than a few alright signings. Adams promoted the last three seasons, Devitt top assister last season and we've got the 17 goal striker he set up for most of those.

Some fans might be expecting more disappointment this season but any player with an offer to re-sign would surely easier to persuade to join when he'd seen the likes of Adams, Devitt and Shaun Miller coming in and all saying they're set on getting promotion.

They are shit to be blunt though Kenneth, Smith, Doyle and Lee are nowhere near good enough for Jones stated aims this season.

Well he must like Olly Lee because he handed him a new contract! But I don't know where he fits in to be honest.
You've got to give Doyle a chance - yes he's had a bad season disrupted by injury, but he's a top quality player at this level.

As mentioned above, no fee has been agreed as yet. So for now he's a Mansfield player. But the clubs are talking and will come up with an agreement that suits all parties.

Don't get me wrong it would be a typically "Mansfield" thing to do but our manager is all about the group and on past experience it would be very out of character for him to let someone who had handed in a transfer request to join in training.

He would typically be give "an extended rest" the only way I can see it happening is if we got Ibehre and cash. As much as I don't want to lose Green but personally think Ibehre would be a better fit to play up front with Rose.

I'm not going to be disappointed because I'm not expecting promotion. A push for the playoffs yeah, I expect after 10th last season us to make a serious push for top 7, but while we have this leaky back 4 I can't see anything more. All of our signings have been going forward which is good, but so far we've neglected the back and it's just as it is.
At the moment there are a fair few teams stronger than us.

If we were to sign a really good centre back then maybe I'd feel we would be in a position to challenge for automatic.

Jordon Roberts signs for us. Left sided midfielder. One year deal with an option for another.

He was at Inverness Caly Thistle last season where his time was limited due to a groin problem. Before that he seems to have been at Conference level but I can't say I know anything about him.

Appears we are not splashing the Gwion Edwards cash just yet.

He's your average League 2 player then. Weren't you in the Championship when he played for you anyway?

Lalkovic should be good in League 2. He's a good character and a good player, but just far too inconsistent to make him a viable investment on the wages he wants/thinks he requires for us, hence the 1 year deal and improved terms, but not as good as he was expecting.

Kind of the stereotypical lower league winger/forward. Not strong enough to play as a natural forward, but not quick enough to be totally a winger. When he's hot, he can cause absolute chaos, but he goes out of form as quickly as he goes in. Will pop up with some nice stepovers and some superb goals, but is just as likely to fall over as he is pop one in the far corner. He's a hard worker, bit of a joker and has a contagious style of play.. that can only be compared to playing the game like a kid at times, in that he's head down and his legs move quicker than his mind does.

I wish him well, he should be good in League 2, but equally, he's the kind of player I can see never making the best of his ability and ending up at one of these discrete foreign teams within 2-3 years. It's a big move for him and I hope he does well.
