Great signing but I imagine a expensive one, should be worth it though.

He was on about professional career.

Green was converted to a striker at Mansfield, something people like to forget ;)

From Newport county in 05 to today he's played upfront as a striker. Cox didnt convert him to anything.[/QUOTE]
You've already been corrected on Stagsnet about this and you still keep banging the drum, why do you care so much about being wrong?

If an Oxford fan says he played as a striker then I'm happy to be wrong but I'm very confident he was a winger before joining us.

Those who saw Green play in the Conference will know why us Staggies are over the moon with him signing. He didn't break through right away with Birmingham and didn't get injured until a way into the season before last, so it isn't like he's been injured for 2 whole seasons. He got fully fit towards the back end of last season but obviously with the change in manager didn't get a look in. It's different to Hearn's situation as he had relapsed before leaving Grimsby whereas Green has only had one long-term injury.

Get Lee Holmes fit and he's a classy, classy player. Sadly, the getting fit part is a huge issue.

He was utter class for us in his loan spell at the end of the season. We offered him somthing and he was keen to sign but he said he had to sort things with his family as obviously, they are northern based. Gut says he'll sign for us.

He played few times for us on loan earlier in the season and looked cack. Like has been said above he needs to be fit to get the best out of him.

He's off to Mansfield, He made contact with the club as he wants to be home with his family and an offer is on the table for him.

Lee Holmes was great when Exeter beat us at home this year, played quite central behind a striker. Would have him here as a replacement for Guttridge, seems a similar-ish player.

Have to wait and see.

Even if he wanted to stay up north, there are better teams, even in this league than Mansfield who he'd be able to walk into.

Nah, Mansfield aren't going anywhere. I trust the bookies and they think it's Dagenham and Accrington, just like they always do, so I'll believe 'em as they're very consistent ;)

It doesn't take a genius to know that you won't be pulling up any trees next season.

You might be a genius, some sort of psychic Exeter supporting genius with Lee Holmes as a sidekick.

Accrington could be in trouble this season seeing as we've just nicked their best player for free - them and Mansfield to go down i'd say.

I can remember Oxford turning up at Field Mill the season they were unbeaten until they played us and Green was played as a right forward that day. I can't really be arsed to go over it though, If he flops then he flops but if he scores 15+ then happy days.

Hearing that Lewis Price is a done deal.

We had him on loan in the -30 season for a little while. I'm pretty sure he only made one single appearance, and it was in the semi-final (or southern final, whatever) of the JPT vs Brighton. It went to penalties, he made two brilliant saves, we went to Wembley, and he never played for us again. Not a bad way to make your mark though.

It would fit in with what Adam Murray has allegedly told Studer that he wanted an experienced keeper who was about 30. He won't come cheap though!
I reckon they'll be clauses in there like bonuses and promotion wage increases or something. I reckon our budget is higher this year.

It's certainly increased, hence why Murray pointed out he doesn't want to talk about it :cool1:

Mark Roberts will prove to be a great signing if he's anything like he was when he left us. Can't believe he's gone to Cambridge though, surely he can remember how those c*** acted after the play-off semi final, now he'll be playing for them against us, some sort of sick joke.
Ah go bollocks. You were celebrating like you'd won the World Cup after the first leg then played typical Westley anti-football in the second leg and deservedly lost. Not often a side turns around a 2 goal deficit in the play offs, hardly surprising we celebrated it.

Now run along and pull out your Tottenham banner with "Destiny will always take over"......

It's hardly surprising you celebrated the win by invading the pitch, but most headed straight to our end of the ground, goading the fans and one or two thought it appropriate to confront a couple of our players. Not sure how you can justify that. I suppose these big occasions always attract the scummy element of society, unfortunately there were a few thousand in the home ends of the Abbey that day!

Pretty quiet on our forum rumour wise, both signings so far weren't mentioned prior to signing but one that is is Keith Keane, I know he used to be half decent but I've no idea what he's like nowadays.
