I know of him via one or two people at the club. It's also common knowledge he helped out at training.

So because he puts some cones out and calls the lads in, we will suffer?

Yeah alright, no point taking this any further if your only comments are facetious ones. Maybe get yourself over to a Facebook group where your kinds of replies are the norm and will get the responses you're apparently fishing for :fish:

All three players that we have let go represents good business for us. Togwell is the only one that I would have hesitated over, but £20k for a player that probably wouldn't have started now is too good to turn down.

Togwell is a big loss but £20k represents good business given his age, recent fitness record and short remaining contract. Hoyte and N'Gala will not be missed so getting them both off the wage bill, with £60k coming in, is a fantastic deal.

Allen can come back for Tomlinson, Batt and Muggleton if he wants.

Wouldn't be surprised if he comes back for Muggleton.
He took him to Barnet from us and we know Allen loves a long throw.

Tominson's stint at Barnet hasn't worked out, has it? Now out for the season I've just read!

We've sold a kid called Jack Bearne who has only just turned 15 to Liverpool for £150k plus add-ons.

Ambition.

I wouldn't say that lacks ambition. 150k for a 15 year old that "could make it" is good business.

They've bought for the future, I'm not so sure you can afford to be so patient.

if the money was being reinvested then maybe but it's not, it's going straight in a chairman's pocket so he can pay off some debts he's incurred. £150k isn't actually a lot either when you consider the money being thrown about these days. Maybe not totally relevant but we sold Pennant at 15 for £2m and McGoldrick at 16 for £500k.

Yeah, but the EPPP rules are now weighted so heavily in the Premier League club's favour that they just hoover up all the best young talent into their development squads for absolute peanuts. We got about £50,000 for Tammy Abraham who is ripping up the Championship for Brizzle via Chelski. We've lost England age group internationals like Michael Obafemi (Southampton), Jay Beckford (Arse) and Kaziah Sterling (Spuds) over the past two years because they can just get stolen for half of Per fucking Mertesacker's weekly wage and there's nowt we can do about it. Just glad we're starting to hand out pro contracts to our other young stars (watch out for 16 year old Sam Dalby) so they're a bit trickier to kidnap.

We're supposedly looking at Carlisle's Charlie Wyke, I presume he's not a bag of shit like Karl Hawley?

Somebody mentioned this on our forum a few weeks ago.

I really like Wyke, signed him in our first season down here and he's improved his overall game a lot. He's a bit similar to Hugill I think, strong on the ball and a good eye for goal, scored quite a few headers for us.

I don't think he'd cut it in the Championship yet though, a year or two in League One would probably be more beneficial for him. I'd be gutted if he did leave.

We seem to be targeting these low risk, rough diamonds such as Hugill, Barkhuizen & Robinson with a view to improving them over time. Steve Thompson gets a lot of praise for his work with the strikers and he gets credit for turning Hugill into an effective player in the Championship despite his lack of obvious technical ability.

A move for Wyke wouldn't surprise me, we can't afford proven talent.

not similar to Hugill at all then

Hugill is a tank, 6 goals to his name this season in the second tier, not shabby but he's not exactly clinical.

Would bag for fun in the league below though.

Wyke runs like he's got a caravan attached to the back of him.

Jordan Hugill was the cat's pyjama's for us, great to see him scoring in the Championship.

Wyke is in the same mould as Danny Graham when we had him.

He doesnt move around a lot, he hasn't got the pace to run in behind the defence and he doesn't create loads... but he's always in the right place at the right time. Which is why half of our fan base won't be too bothered if he goes for money and the other half who actually appreciate what strikers are meant to do - score goals - will be.

I hope we don't cash in but we're desperate for money. :ffs:

I wasn't aware Carlisle has money problems? Interesting you may be under pressure to sell if any offers come in Jan.

Well, it's getting to the time if year to write the shopping list out.
Forward wise we have a decent one in Collins but with Harrold out injured for 3 months and Yusuf due to go back to Mansfield we have to get someone in. It would not surprise me if we asked to keep Yusef.

In midfield we have Dean Cox coming in and that will be it but we may extend Henderson's short term deal.

We only have one right back at the club and he is a converted winger. He's doing OK but someone to cover is needed.

Left back! Please someone let us get a left back. When people on here said about Blackman and Arthur I thought they were exaggerating. If anything they were being kind. Last year we had A few left backs come in, and do well, who have gone to nowhere ville and Macclesfield. What I would give for one of those.

Someone sign Alex Davey so he leaves us.

We don't have money problems, we've just apparently used up all of or nearly all of our wage/transfer budget for this season already, so really if we are to strengthen in january they'll have to be outgoings.

Personally I'd sell Wyke for 400k if that's what's on offer. I have enough faith in our scouts and manager to find us someone at least as good to replace him.

It's whether they can find that replacement in January. inflated prices and clubs not willing to sell. 400k is a good price but it could end up costing you promotion.
