Carver and SERNWA in the same thread.

Who would have thought we'd see the day?

We're going back in.

£1.2m should get him. We offered more for Lee Gregory in the summer, been waiting to spend £1m+ on the right person for years.

Wouldn't go over £1.2m for Bogle though and we're confident we'll get him for that.

Why would he want to sign for a team we'll be playing in the league next season anyway? :bg:

When you say 'we' I take it you have contacts inside your club who have told you that then?
Names?

Why on earth would I post names on a public forum? Ask around, common knowledge on here I have contacts.

Wait until tommorow for the next bid.

It could well be that Grimsby would accept a £1.2 million bid for Bogle, but I'm sure he would have other suitors in the Championship who are able to offer a bit more stability than a probable relegation. Brentford might be a decent shout if Hogan leaves for example.

If Brentford stump up money for him then everyone else probably will, those fuckers definitely have an eye for a striker.

Others can't guarantee half a season of championship football, if he comes here and scores 8-10 then he could well have premiership suitors come May/June.

Well, using my example of Brentford then should Hogan move on then they'd be looking for a first choice centre forward and there's no reason why that couldn't be Bogle.

It's be lunacy for them to let a proven championship goal scorer move and replace him with a gamble. (They already had Hogan when Gray left).

Can't see anybody better placed in the championship than us or Wigan getting Bogle.

Too much of a gamble for anybody else to take him seriously.

That's more or less Brentfords transfer policy though. Sign gambles, then sell most of them on for very impressive profits. Nothing about the way they operate suggests to me that they'd sell Hogan and replace him with someone well-established in the Championship, it's just not their way.

Never said they would.

They've never stopped as low as signing anybody from league two after half a season and can't see em doing it this year.

They'll more than likely replace Hogan with somebody like Zach Clough.

I don't think we'd sell to Rotherham, a) because they'll be a L1 club next season and b) because I'm hoping Omar himself has his sights set higher. He probably isn't Championship standard just yet but I think another season and he could be.

If our chairman has rejected 850k, I'm thinking that he'll probably accept 1.5million. I'll be honest and say I thought he'd take 750k. So many of our fans are giving stupid figures like 2.5-3 million, because 'Roofe was the same age and Omar will score more than him blah blah blah'.

Considering the amount of players that we're linked with, I do think that he'll be leaving this window.

We may well be League 1 next year but we'll be odds on favourites to go straight back up. I dread to think what the likes of Peter Odemwinge and Joe Newell would do in League 1.

He may well have his sights set higher but the clubs he may set his heart on have to want to sign him.

It's a very important time for the lad in his career, turn us down and come February he may well be stuck in League two settling for mid table mediocrity and if his hot streak doesn't continue then he's wasted a glorious opportunity to further his career.

The lad has scored goals consistently at every level he's played at over the last few seasons. What makes you think he's suddenly going to stop, especially now that Bignot seems to have figured out how to set the team up effectively and has his sights set on bringing in some better midfielders and strikers to play alongside him (our weak point all season).

We hold all the cards here. Bogle is only half way through his 3 year contract, why would we sell him for £1.2 million now when he can bang in another 10 goals between now and the Summer and then go to a much bigger club for a significantly larger fee? He clearly loves playing under Bignot and infront of our MASSIVE away followings which makes me think he'll stay until the end of the season (which is exactly what happened when we first tried to sign him from Solihull).

Why is there something I should know about this Rotherham fan? Does he brag about the size of his dick or something?

I've said it before andI'll say it again HG. I've got the biggest dick around here!

The jump from League two to Championship is huge. Plenty of players have scored loads at your level and then struggled at our level. Matt Tubbs being a great example. Scored 30+ for crawley in league two and couldn't get anywhere near that for Bournemouth. He's scored goals in league two and non league, hardly makes it a given he'll score goals in the championship or even league one.

You really don't hold all the cards at all, you've got a player with the carrot of championship football and 10k a week in front of him, you have to sell while he's hot. If he doesn't carry on like he has been you've missed out on £1m+ and I hate to break it to you but no one bigger than the likes of us and Wigan will want him, you're a league two side, a player scoring goals in this division doesn't alert the attentions of 3/4 of the championship.

Not even biting on your away followings hahaha we're bottom of the league, utterly hopeless and taking 3k to Newcastle on the 21st. Trumps anything Grimsby could ever do.

Who the fuck is this guy and why is he trying to take the limelight away from Carver??

Grimsby don't have to sell. There's no sign that he's going to stop scoring at this level - he's been improving ever since joining Grimsby. If anything he'll outgrow the size of even a MASSIVE club like Rotherham and go to a much better one - like Sheffield United.

If Bogle was a Mansfield player I could only imagine the sort of drivel coming out of Grimsby fans on here.

I think it makes sense to keep until the summer though.

Hmmm, over 4k to Donny the week before Christmas for a mid-table League 2 side springs to mind! Trumps anything Rotherham could ever do!
