He's not shite, he'd be an excellent signing at this level. I just don't think we're trying to sign him after he rejected us a year ago.

Anyway Chesterfield hav just sacked Wilson so that may change Liddle's situation there

Decent player for us 6 years ago, not sure what he's like these days, think a big chunk of Chesterfield fans can't wait to get shot of him.

Last time I saw him play was last season with Bradford and he is still a good player. He'd definitely be an excellent signing for any club at this level, although his wages are supposedly quite high so that may be a stumbling block for some clubs in this league.

Some people are putting 2 and 2 together and assuming we're signing him because we went for him last season. I highly doubt it.

We are about to sign some midfield chap called something Berry for 10k, but Im just not sure which L2 club we are getting him from.

Anyone know of some Berry fella playing in L2? If so what club is he at?

Hell of a lot of reporters in Yorkshire and the north east now reporting that Gary Liddle to Carlisle is almost done.

I don't believe any of it to be honest. It goes completely against what Keith Curle said post match yesterday.

Until my trusted source confirms it to me, it isn't true. I've asked him the question, just waiting on the response.

The Matt Green ship has sailed. Once that fax machine broke on deadline day we moved on.

There was rumours that green had been in touch with Curle last month to ask if anything could happen in January, but I'm led to believe that we are not interested anymore.

Liddle was very good for us overall (in central midfield at least, never really rated him in defence) but never seemed quite the same after having his ankle snapped in two. Career seems to have drifted a lot since then as well.

So this Berry guy is a Cambridge player? It makes sense coming to us because apparantly he wants to move to a bigger and better club and 10k is a lot of money for a club that has just recently moved up from the non-league.

How good is he Cambridge fans?

I think Alex McQueen is enough evidence though that Curle doesn't hold grudges.

You've got your wires crossed Carv marra' - Luke has put his old boots up on Ebay (coz he's gone off the colour combination - who thought "Berry Slime" was a good option?) and the price has gone ballistic. Also, I don't think Lukey fits the physical profile that KC is looking for.

Whatever happened to black footy boots?

We want MEN not babies.

If Berry is a wimp then we'll go after our other target, that Wycombe player, what's his name? Basket?

Local rag reporting that we've turned down an offer of £850k for Omar from Rotherham.

Therein lies the value of giving him a 3 year deal when we signed him, so now we can hold out for a better price and if that price doesn't materialise then we keep him, delighted that we have turned that one down. :)

I wouldn't believe that rumour to be honest. It came from the unreliable HITC Sport, not Grimsby Telegraph.

Two signings confirmed today.

Scott Brown from Wycombe on loan

Will Boyle on a permanent transfer from Huddersfield
http://www.ctfc.com/news/article/20...ddersfield-town-will-boyle-signs-3510276.aspx

Delighted with the Scott Brown signing, one of my fave keepers to play for Cheltenham, and crucial experience for a struggling team. Russ Griffiths is a talent, but he made too many basic errors that Scott ironed out of his game years ago.

I know nothing of Will Boyle, other than that he was on loan at Kilmarnock for the first half of the season.

Jay Simpson has offcially been sold to MLS side Philadelphia Union.

Not a huge suprise, the money he was on here was extortionate. He was never, EVER going to get anyone in the UK to match what he was on here - because for various reasons no one would pay that much for him.

Thats our hopes of survival all but gone, what with no players expected to come in.

Sammy Moore is due to return from Dover though.

Relax Orient you will be fine, probably find that there are at least 2 other clubs who are more worse than yourselves.

We're going back in.

£1.2m should get him. We offered more for Lee Gregory in the summer, been waiting to spend £1m+ on the right person for years.

Wouldn't go over £1.2m for Bogle though and we're confident we'll get him for that.
