Brought back David Pipe on loan. Not sure if he'll still be able to do it, but time shall tell.

David Pipe Pipe Pipe. Didn't realise he was still playing let alone only 33 - I loved that bloke, I think I was young and he was pretty much the only non-terrible player we had at the time so seemed better than he was.

He also made the most tremendous red card tackle I've ever seen a Notts player make. I wish I could find the video.

Still rumours of Charlie Wyke to Preston. Somebody initially stated 400k (buyout clause) but apparently it's less than that, I'd say Bogle is worth a fair bit more than him.

Honestly can't see Grimsby letting him go for that little, wouldn't be surprised if Rotherham came in for Wyke instead.

No interest from North End according to our local journo, never known him to be wrong before.

Yeah he's since mentioned in a club interview that there's been no offers for him yet, and he's happy to stay.

I did say when the rumour first came out I couldn't see it being genuine, don't really think you need him either to be honest.

Yeah, not the type of player we need judging by your description of him.

Cambridge fans, is Sean Long any good?

Only got a deal because he pushed the chief exec's car to a petrol station in Holland when it had run out of fuel, categorically awful in the pre-season game I saw him in in Germany and lived up to that pretty much whenever he played for us in the regular season, awful.

Lawson D'Ath to Luton?

Yep he's on his way. Disappointed he hasn't been given a chance, we've been lacking pace and movement behind the striker and that's exactly what he brings. Very effective when bursting through midfield and snapping at defenders legs when out of possession. V good signing for League 2.

Can't honestly say I remember him from the games with you last season.

What kind of player is he? Does he play as a #10 type or deeper? Ball-winner, creative, box-to-box? It'll be interesting to see what type of player Jones is looking at in the wake of the McGeehan injury, although I suspect we would have been in the market for a deeper midfielder even before he got crocked.

We were about to sign him then it fell through for whatever reason, we got Byrom instead, or maybe we wanted both. Very good for league two, well better than what we have

Mark O'Brien has left us to join Newport County.

I had actually forgotten he was still our player as he hasn't been seen or heard of since last seasons 4-3 defeat to Carlisle where he was particularly awful. Had a few cup games where he played in midfield where he didn't look terrible if I recall, but another poor Still signing im afraid.

Was really disappointed when we didn't sign D'Ath, looked good against us last season. Will be a good signing for Luton.

Any Luton fans any idea of the fee, I assume it was only a small amount.

No bad feelings towards Lawson at all. Played a good part in our success last year and has a good attitude on and off the pitch. Often played in a 3 behind the striker out wide, worked well when he would switch with Holmes and Adams. Has good movement and energy, chips in with the odd goal as well. Not quite at the same level as Adams and Holmes in particular but hes still pretty young. A good addition I think for Luton. Seems a real shame to see our title winning squad disappear!

No mention of possible fees from our end yet, just undisclosed.

Sounds a decent player but I have a slight nagging worry that Jones has just signed yet another primarily attacking, fairly lightweight midfielder and will now ask him to play as an actual central midfield player in the diamond system, which is what he has been doing all season and leads to us losing the midfield battle most weeks. Hopefully I'm wrong, I'd be all in favour of a system change at this point so maybe I'm doing Jones a disservice and he intends to use D'ath in a similar way to Cobblers last season.

I fear similar to JD, seems like a we have a wealth of similar players to him, although he may be the direct replacement for McGeehan whilst he is out, so you can understand from that perspective.

We really need a proper holding midfield player, we cant keep picking Olly Lee there almost by default because there isnt anyone else.

He dosnt fit the bill if its a Mcgeehan replacement your after. Different types of players.

I didn't realise no midfielder in the whole Football League scored more goals than McGeehan in 2016. Almost impossible to fill those boots.

Why do Hartlepool United never disclose contract lengths?

Craig Reid has signed for Newport from Gloucester City I see.

From what I can tell, he didn't impress at City so surprised Newport have taken a punt on him.

One of the worst striker I've ever seen put on a Harriers shirt. I'd like to meet his agent cos he must be a genius. He wasn't even good enough to get in the Gloucester team.

No it's not impossible. The reason Berry and McGeehan (don't know enough about Carey and Plymouth) score loads is only down to the way Cambridge and Luton play. Not saying they're not that good, as they both are probably too talented for this level, but it helps a lot having our sides setting up the way they do.

Re. the amount of goals Cam and Luke got in 2016, I couldn't help but notice that both are on 10 this season, so that means that McGeehan only got 5 between Jan and May, with Berry only getting 4.

Jon Stead actually plays quite deep behind Forte so please add him to your goalscoring midfielders lists

Newport 100% going down... Signing players not even good enough for the conference?

Cheltenham need 5 quality signings that are up to league standard or they're going too, Girolamo and Onarisase won't do much.

Ill be surprised if the bottom too change from now until the end of the season, maybe newport will be in 23rd for a while or something thats about it.

Jason Kennedy also has 10 goals from midfield this season, no penalties either :bg1:

He's obviously not as good as those two technically, but his positioning is a level above.

I wonder if Grimsby called Bogle a midfielder it would add a zero on his value.
