That Collins looked quite classy when we played Orient. With our transfer dealings I wouldn't mind going in for him

Wishful thinking I know, but just trying to think of a League 2 midfielder who's been an ever present for the last 2 seasons.

Chris Clements at Mansfield would fit in with the Mickey Moore connection.

A lovely, cultured 'footballer'. Very comfortable on the ball, but is the quintessential 1 performance in 6 player. Scores goals from set pieces but his dead ball ability seems to have gone off the boil this season. He's probably taken 200 corner kicks, which we've failed to score from.

Clements divides the support, and probably would yours too. With time on the ball he shines with his very able feet, however, too often he can disappear. The future for Clements would be as an advanced midfielder; there he can drift in to the penalty area more, where he is quite handy to grab a goal. Three managers at Mansfield have enthused about Clements, but none have managed to find a consistent tune out of him. His natural ability should see him playing in a higher division; his lack of stringing two good performances together keeps him in League 2. Although, he's certainly a much better player than the two lads which you bought in from York, in the summer, as a midfield option.

So Plymouth have signed Rhys Healey on loan from Cardiff.
Nothing official from the club, but what Warnock said live on BT sport last night rather suggests he is coming "They are short of forwards, I am lending them one of mine next week".

I heard about Clements to Grimsby a while back, imagine it will be confirmed soon.

Talented player but inconsistent and likely always will be.

Disappears most games unfortunately, be nice to get a fee for him.

Agree with everything said about Clements.

Technically up there with the best in the division but woefully inconsistent. He doesn't have the mental ability to stamp his authority on games like he should.

He will impress you at first and even wow you with a few hollywood passes but you'll soon realise he's far too inconsistent to ever have a real impact in the long term.

Not upset he's leaving, should free up a good chunk of wages to bring someone else in.

It's a shame it's came to this, but echoed above, he's just not consistent enough. Probably more a top conference player than a decent league 2 player with how inconsistent he is - his ability could see him in league 1 if he were ever to push on.

Likeable lad, can take a free-kick, but as said above not good/consistent enough if we really are to push on.

Byrom, who we've had from Northampton has started every game since the new year in his place, and is a class above, and then some. It was quickly clear that Evans didn't see him in his plans

Again though, wish him all the best - he seems a decent guy

Clements has the potential to give a lot of assists to Bogle and Yussuf.

He's been with Mansfield since the conference, so is a long serving player and I hope a new club helps his career because the talent is evident.

Hopefully Clements is not on a massive deal going from what we're being told but we're always willing to give players a chance if they've got the ability. Similar things were said about Jon Nolan last season and he turned out to be our signing of the season, in my opinion at least. Above all though there is absolutely no way he's a downgrade to Berrett or Summerfield.

Was just saying in the Shoutbox that there are comparisons to be drawn between what you lot are saying and what the Stockport/Lincoln/Wrexham fans said about Jon Nolan when we signed him last January and he went on to be probably our best player in the second half of last season. However, I do think that a huge part of that was down to Paul Hurst. One of his better attributes was taking an unfancied player and getting them to perform beyond what they'd been doing at their previous clubs. I have no idea if Bignot will have this ability, but if he has then it sounds like Clements could be a coup. I'm also not sure how/if a midfield with both Disley and Clements will work. Going off what I have been reading, it might have to be one or the other. However, Flaxman has to be right about his assessment that anything will be an improvement on Berrett and Summerfield.

Edit:

Beat me to it.

Clements is a strange one as i swear we've played him in the wrong position since we've had him. He always looked a better player getting higher up the pitch with more time & space rather than as some sort of deep-lying playmaker we've been playing him as.

He's good on the ball. Can pick a pass, and is a very clever player. Always tries little one-twos, and deft touches which are beyond alot of players at this level. Not one for a battle though, and gets a lot of yellow cards because of poor tackles & shirt pulls etc. Does tend to go missing in some games too. Think he might do alright at Grimsby though, no other reason than i've got a feeling he'll do alright.

Here is our current squad:

Blimey, I fear for Orient as that squad looks very light on quality and not the sort of players needed for a relegation battle.

As above sounds like Nolan going off the Lincoln/Wrexham and Stockport fans views from last season ended up being excellent before moving to lge 1. Also Bignot keeps saying we need players with better tecnical ability and sounds like Clements has that at least.

A few Mansfield fans seem to think he will be better with a good player next to him so a three man midfield with Osbourne (if hes as good as Solihull make out) and Comley doing the defensive work behind could be excellent.

Seen a YouTube vid of Asante's goals and he looks absolute class, certainly has an eye for goal and looks a natural finisher.
I remember thinking the same about Marcus Haber from his YouTube clips.

If he were 'absolute class' I doubt he'd be going to Grimsby in L2.

We have signed Shaquile Coulthirst from Peterborough, loan with a view to make it permanent in the summer.

Coulthirst signs!

Looks a good signing, and always has done well against us in the past. Not scored loads of goals which is a little bit of a worry but hopefully a long run of games will help him.

Turned you down last week because he wanted to come to Orient. Then Frankie The C*nt blocked the signing.

Possibly so, frequently under Murray he was played far too defensively (like most of the team) and it didn't really allow for this true attributes to show through (as Hamez has mentioned) frequently his cross field balls or little 1-2's would be in his own half - given a more free position further up the field he could be a different player. Like most attacking minded players at this level, sometimes his defensive responsibility lacks...

Clements didn't help himself though - he played 2 cracking games - and scored in a 3-0 home win over Crawley in Evan's first home game, but then went AWOL. It's clear what the agenda was after that, and it's rumoured he was on a decent wage also...

Another couple of departures for us today, Kevin Wright and David Atkinson. Should free up wages for one or two incomings.

Appears maybe not. Local paper cites Warnock as implying no, that he wants to give us someone exciting that is highly "sought after" next week if he can get someone in. Whether Adams wants this person I don't know. Implication is that they might be a winger. Or maybe it is just smoke and mirrors.

What a strange player he is. Occasional glimpses of real technical quality but most of the time you forget he is actually on the pitch. I still have no idea what his best position is or even the strengths and weaknesses of his game, 9 times out of 10 he is just sort of there making up the numbers. Madness giving him a three-year deal.

NJ also confirmed another one is probably about to leave on loan but not quite over the line yet (Banton? Maybe even CMS...).

Also confirmed that we are still in the market for one other player, a "bit different" to what we have in one specific area. 99% of Luton fans will be praying that it is a midfield general, but knowing Jones and his aversion to real central midfield players I'm thinking it might be a striker (with CMS heading out on loan - that might be why NJ said there is still some thinking to do on the possible outgoing is my guess, probably completely wrong).

FInally, NJ rubbished twitter reports that we are after Adam Coombes from Welling, who has scored a shit-ton of goals at Conf South level this season. Jones said he didn't actually know who the player was so that rumour is definitely out!

I knew the way McQuoid was going to go when he signed. Back when I lived in Bournemouth i used to watch them on occasion and I was always massively unimpressed with him, technically sound but just never did anything really. Was disappointed when we signed him especially on a long deal and am glad he is on his way now.

According to our CEO we have placed a club record 300k bid for someone.

Ridiculous.
