We've signed Gerry McDonough on loan til the end of the season from Forest. He spent the first part of this season at Wrexham.

Beware.

Mansfield have apparently offered Liam Lawrence a deal. Out of the picture here and well like at the Stags so makes sense.

Gowling falls out with most managers.

Did it at Bournemouth, did it at Gillingham, did it at Carlisle, did it at Lincoln. Not sure he left Kiddy on good terms either.

Incredible player in his day, might ruin it having him back now.

I think we are mad getting rid of Mitch Rose, good chance it will bite us on the arse.

Not sure... He hasn't performed really, but wasn't really played in the correct position either.

I'd have preferred to have farmed him out to Newport on loan and see what's what.

Evans obviously has higher aspirations, and will probably just get someone better in, so I guess I'm alright with that.

Mitch Rose really didn't have anything to offer. He put effort in & he got about the pitch well but he's pretty rash in the tackle, and can't pass at all. Also never sure what position you could play him?

Hold on, hold on. I got pelters when I said Rose and Henderson were shithouse at the start of the season... Still, sure the 4 goals he will score for Newport will see them above us by the end of February.

We've loaned Sean Clare out to Accrington Stanley for the rest of the season, young midfielder who got a bit of game time in our pre season trip to Portugal, good luck to him expect if he does well he will sign on a permanent.

Rose is not a shithouse though.

Mansfield have bid £300,00 for a player according to the CEO and then Steve Evans in yesterday's post-match interview. I don't know who would command that transfer fee and be interested in joining the club.

Forgive my ignorance about the Stags, how do you have £300k, have you sold players, saved money, got a sugar daddy or what?

When he took over he did play the role of 'sugar daddy' in the conference but cut that down hugely after the first season back in the league.

Club is well run now and is helped by his company via sponsorship which means we have been running near even recently with a competitive budget for this level, but no way we have 300k spare without him funding it.

I can't claim to have looked at the accounts or anything, but I would be very surprised if without that sponsorship the club would be close to breaking even. If we were being run prudently and there was no sponsorship, there's no way we'd spend £300,000 on one player. The money would be saved for a rainy day.

Patrick Brough re-joins Salford on loan till the end of the season. So far this January we've brought in one player (2 including a loan extension) and got rid of five (2 short-term contracts, 1 loan).

Some rumours today that Bradford are interested in Charlie Wyke to replace the outgoing James Hanson.

We've signed Charlie Clough from FGR. Never heard of him.

He is quality to be honest, one of the best centre backs in the National League last season and thankfully for us missed an absolute sitter in the play off final when he kicked fresh air instead of the ball from 6 yards out, as I've just mentioned on the non league transfers thread! :gr:

We were GOING to sign a player last Friday BUT surprise surprise apparantly his wage demands were too expensive for us.

So I wonder what our managers next excuse will be, probably the classic "Oh we were about to sign a player but a L1 club came in at the last minute".

That is a very bold statement to make Carver.

Surely you could afford Matt Green's wages

Hearing on the rumour mill that there are still transfers yet to be finished by us. Absolutely mental window!

As discussed in our match thread, Curle still wants 2 or 3 new faces in, but will only be able to afford 1 unless our next home game sees an additional 1500+ on the gate.

Someone on our forum has created a crowdfunder page to raise some funds for Curle. I'm not sure it'll be a success.

That's bull shit from Curle. No way does the budget work like that "Oh this week we got a good attendance, let's sign a player." Not having that at all.
