Great window for us, 3 in although before the last day, 2 loans extended and 2 contracts extended but more importantly no outgoings. With Lund, McSheffrey and ATS due to return in a couple of weeks they will be like new signings and McCullough should be back for the last 7 games.

How did Grimsby get over a million for Omar Bogle when he isn't even half as good as what Charlie Wyke is and we only got something like £250,000 for him?

Fucks sake like!

Anyway I bet all that money Grimsby received will never be put to good use. When do lower league clubs ever put good transfer money to use these days?

It'll go into keeping the club going and paying for the signings we've made, Jones looks like a belter.

Bogle is younger and has scored more goals this season.

But you're right, you got a shit deal and we got an excellent one.

Because you mugs put a shit release clause in his contract, Grimsby didn't.

Bogle is a whole 7 months younger than Wyke.

Bogle is twice the player Wyke is.

Wyke looked like an absolute camel when we played Carlisle whilst Bogle is the best opposition player I've seen all season, if that helps.

Fucking diabolical transfer window for us

Sold off 3 first teamers (albeit not huge misses by any stretch) and replaced them with NO ONE

Except two teenage strikers, which now has us on 727 forwards at the club. They'll never get a game either

The way we sleepwalk every season is a fucking arrogance we need to get rid of, not that our board own the club for any footballing reasons mind.

Apparently there were 2 teams bidding for him for most of yesterday which will have pushed the price up, and also coming so late in the day teams can get desperate which might also be a factor.

But what I want to know is have we got any good wingers in this squad of 33, Bolinwara is a good athlete but can't control the ball...

What about that Nathan bloke at Lincoln - couldn't we sign him...:shut:

Agree with Conks there, or at least not good enough most of the time. He will 100% score against Grimsby, Cambridge and Mansfield next season if Lincoln don't bottle it and manage to get promoted.

There were strong rumours on the Leeds end that they had offered 1.2M for Bogle, so wouldn't be surprised to hear if that was the other team. If that's the case then Wigan must be paying decent wages to have tempted Bogle with potential League One football vs potential Premier League football.

I don't doubt there's question marks over whether or not Arnold can make the step up to L2 but come on, he's obviously better than Bolinwara and Chambers.

Plus, y'know, he is/was a bit of a Grimsby legend after that goal at Wembley.

Certainly better than Chambers- probably why he's been told he can go.

I would've liked to have seen Nathan have a chance in L2 because he was very inconsistent last season (probably due to the death of his mum). Cowley has got him playing pretty well I guess- is he still being used as a winger?

Just because someone scores a goal at Wembley though, doesn't mean they should be kept on. I felt like we made that mistake with Pittman, keeping him on to make amends after the miss. Agree that he's better than Chambers, but the jury is still out on Bolarinwa.

Jean-Marie Ulrich N'Nomo N'Gong's (his name is so much better when written in full) loan move to Paris FC has fallen through because he has played for Chateauroux II and Leyton Orient this season. Orient blame Paris for not knowing the issue. As the parent club Orient should fucking know more than Paris...

He's a likeable lad but Arnold isn't good enough for the league, you'll be in for a long struggle if he's a main player.

He'd be one of those of where if you do come up you'd be looking to bin off, or at least getting another player in for the same position

Has he ever been given a proper chance at L2 though? I'm not sure how often he played at Cambridge. He's been given this tag of not being good enough for L2 quite unfairly I think.

He's already score 10 this season from the wing and it's only February. He offers so much defensively as well. If, and right now it's a big if, we do get promoted then I'm pretty sure we'd keep him as part of the squad.

Whether this is true or not I'm not sure, but I was told he asked Paul Hurst a few weeks after turning down a new contract that he wanted to sign on for us but Hurst refused as we'd already (supposedly) replaced him with Tom Bolarinwa.

I'd have liked to have seen Arnold sign and stay on, he needs to prove he is good enough which I think he is.
Certainly better than some wingers in this league or above like Jack Mackreth!
Bolingwara has had that much of a chance yet and has potential, agreed on Chambers.

That said we don't even use wingers right now so don't need Arnold anyhow.

He was a product of our youth team so I'd want and wish him to do well. He certainly wasn't good for us but that was a long time ago.

The quality of the league is certainly a step up though as Cheltenham has experienced.

As said in the conference though, (and I can't speak for all Mansfield fans) but I wish you all the best on the quest for promotion.

You've served enough time down there and it was always a good derby. Grimsby, you and county (if they stop up) along with Chesterfield if they came down would be like the days of old.

You not really see it until you get promoted, Rhead too. Don't forget how much of a step up it is despite L2 is quite a poor standard currently.

Arnold will be in same boat as Meikle and Briscoe was for Mansfield I imagine.

What I always liked about Nathan Arnold was that for all his inconsistency you always knew that in a big game he would turn up and play his socks off.
So even though Lincoln look good for the title, should it go wrong and they end up in the play offs he will be a huge player for them in them.

Being lectured about the step up to L2 is almost as tiresome as the lecture we all received when we dropped down to the Conference.

That was a fucking short lecture, which university did you go to?

When you get promoted (hope ya do) you'll figure it out after a dozen games.

I didn't mean it anyway...

But I do think he'd be better as an option off the bench than Bolly or Chambers...Paul Hurst's fault...

I don't know why I'm continuing to make an issue of this but here goes...

It didn't work out for Arnold at Cambridge or Mansfield, fine. I accept that. But he's better than Bolarinwa and Chambers (in my opinion anyway), who are playing for mid-table Grimsby. So why can't Arnold do that?
