Started off ok then got injured and wasn't the same afterwards. If he spent as much time trying to win the ball as he does complaining we wouldn't be able to afford him but I think you guys warned us of that. He's transfer listed not released.
Classic Williams. Arms outstretched wondering why the world is against him.

We've signed David Amoo on a one year deal.

Looks like a squad player who will be back up to Mingoia. Any good Carlisle fans?

Signing number 5 for us, goalkeeper Liam O'Brien. Don't know much about him but we probably needed a keeper.

Why would any manager sign back up players? Why not sign players to improve you? I.e players that are better than what you've got or will at least challenge for a first team place. I can never understand that managerial mentality.

As for the player, he's fast and alright in the air, he'll probably get a few goals but hates the physical side of the game.

Amoo will frustrate Cambridge fans, typical lower league winger. I wouldn't have wanted him back here, but he'll get a few goals from the wing.

Amoo did win our player of the season and was top scorer while we were in League One (admittedly the best of a bad bunch), as cufc17 says, his inconsistency is pretty much par for the course at this level, he's a big confidence player, when he's confident he has pace and beats his man and also has a decent finish, but when he's low on confidence (and he is easily upset if he starts to get stick from the crowd) he becomes anonymous, not going past his full-back at all.

Saw Mansfield signed Mirfin from us, think that's a very good signing for L2. He was one of our best players last season and most of us can't really understand why he's been released. He'll be different class in L2.

Mansfield fans on Stagsnet think they tried to sign Marquis :fl:

I'm fairly confident that it's not exclusively the only football fans forum which has its share of dreamers, wafflers, doom merchants and knee-jerk grumblers.

Wouldn't be totally crazy to believe we put a bid in for Marquis, Afterall we did try and rob Exeter for Watkins in January with a bid that was miles out

Anyway Chris Wilder has said he's expecting Sheff Utd youngester Louis Reed to sign for us.

We've rejected three bids for Sean Raggett - West Ham (£120k), Posh (£250k) and Oxford (£250k).

I dunno who you support but there has been absolutely nothing on Mansfield end suggesting he's going.

The Mal Benning to Carlisle rumours are made up. There's absolutely no truth in them.

6th signing confirmed, Dominic Hyam on a two year deal from Reading. Goes into the U23s and will primarily be a back-up this year.

ow this view isn't shared by all U's fans but I consider Piero Mingoia to be a very good right sided player however we don't have any real cover there. So it's a sensible signing in my view.

Did he ever play on the left side too?

Don't think so, but he played as a striker quite often.

It was fun while it lasted.

Going by Curle's comments yesterday, we were looking at the two players Mansfield signed.

Are people fancying Mansfield to do well this season? Noticed they've made a lot of signings, some of them seem like decent coups.

Nathan Jones confirmed today that we'd be shipping out another three players shortly. Two of them seem very likely to be Josh McQuoid and Jonathan Smith, the third is harder to call - guessing the likely contenders are Mullins, Lee or Jake Gray (would happily lose either of the former, be disappointed if it is the third but for some reason Jones has seemingly not taken a shine to him this season at all).

He also confirmed we'd be looking to add 6 players - 2x keepers, 4x outfielders. He also confirmed that one would be a striker, another a right back (probably young as they will almost certainly be second choice)... but he refused to confirm we would look to sign the one thing we've needed for the last three transfer windows, a midfielder who can actually tackle. Fully expecting us to sign another two lightweight wingers to shoehorn in to central midfield roles now.

I don't understand your League Two bantz
I believe it's a reference to one of the Cheltenham fans last summer who was confident his team were going to piss this tinpot league. It's then been a running joke all season about who is going to join already-promoted Cheltenham in League One.
