Jabo Ibehre has turned down the clubs offer of a contract and has left the club :( sad times.
Very sad, but expected. He's been fantastic in both seasons here, huge fan favourite.

Don't begrudge him leaving, and he's supposedly signing for another club soon, so probably is Cambridge.

Yeah no hard feelings toward Jabo. He's been superb for us but it's a ball ache for him commuting from London.

He has a young family to think about so if it is Cambridge then that makes sense for him. Good luck to him.

Yeah sounds like it's a done deal and Ibehre will be announced tonight. Very happy with that signing.

Maybe he just wanted to complete the CUFC hat-trick, having signed for us from Colchester.

McDermott definitely an interesting signing for us. Was excellent a few years ago but understand he has had off the field issues since then. Looked ok when we played Dale last season though

I wonder if he's going back to Orient...

Good to hear a positive about him. I suppose he's got an opportunity now to show that he can do it at this level. He's a good age at 24 and it's refreshing to see the club take this approach in the transfer market which we've been successful at in the past, instead of signin cast offs looking for their last pay day such as Ebanks-Blake like we have done over the past couple of seasons
Yep always looked a handful when I saw him. A nightmare for centre-backs in the air as he really attacks the ball. Wished we'd gone in for him mid-season (although Woking would have been unlikely to sell at that stage) instead of the supposedly similar type of player that we ended up with - Shamir Mullings – now he's terrible.

Non league striker Gozie Ugwu signs 2 year deal with us after joining from Woking. Scored 21 goals last season and been described as a big powerful quick striker.

I've not seen much of him so can't really give an opinion but looks exactly the type of player we've been crying out for since big Steve Fletcher left back in 2008!! Strong, can hold it up, and also has goals in his game... Look forward to watching him link up with Kristian Dennis next season!
Don't get your hopes up as he was released by us for being crap and he's not good enough for League 2.

And whilst i'm sure that's true mate, he's just come off the back of a good season and at 24 still plenty of room for improvement you'd think. By all accounts he's a physical presence, and it's something we're lacking in.

I think that was me trying to be positive, i don't know why i do it to myself........

I think Fatty was planning on hijacking the Griezmann deal to Man Utd had they not made the Champions League so last nights Mickey Mouse Trophy Europa League win put paid to that.

I did think it would be poetic if he returned to Orient, and personally I'd love him to get the chance to play there again, but I guess with all that's going on there at the minute there's not much chance of it> Id he did, he'd absolutely annihilate the Conference. Going home could just mean that he's going to be living with his family full-time again as Cambridge is commutable from London. Laying down his weapons could indicate retirement, but I don't know about that, he's in far too good of shape and skill to be thinking retirement.

So we added David Mirfin and Johnny Hunt to the team recently.

David Mirfin is an expensive luxury since the defence was already sorted.

Johnny Hunt, I seem to remember him from our days in the Conference when we played Wrexham. I always imagined him as a squad player and thought that those more likely to make the step up were players like Chris Maxwell and Curtis Obeng.

Can't really recall anything about Alessandra, but nine goals from out wide for a relegated team is a pretty good return.

Would be fine with Alessandra but it's irresponsible to claim he was one of the best in the division last season. Hardy doesn't seem arsed about opening himself up to ridicule though

Ours was the same when he first started its like watching a toddler learn to walk after a couple of years they crack it but can look a complete sideboard in the meantime.

Alessandra is decent but one of the best in the league is a definite stretch.

Clearing the way for Akinde moving up north?
Nah don't think so. We have no other forwards who aren't aged under 21 or are good enough for this level.

Think in today's market we're looking at£500k minimum for Akinde. Can't see the clubs he's being linked with affording him.

Sam Habergham has signed a contract extension, which means he's contracted until 2019 now.

Cowley calls him 'seven', which is a bit harsh this season because he's been more of an 'eight'. Incredibly consistent for us this season with good delivery from open play and set pieces.

Doesn't seem to allow himself to get into any tricky situations on the pitch. He's not the tallest but doesn't lose too many aerial balls and isn't particularly quick but doesn't get beaten very often at all. A very good all rounder of a FB. 19 assists last season.

He played on loan for us a few years back when we were not very good. I don't remember him contributing much.
