Non league striker Gozie Ugwu signs 2 year deal with us after joining from Woking. Scored 21 goals last season and been described as a big powerful quick striker.

I've not seen much of him so can't really give an opinion but looks exactly the type of player we've been crying out for since big Steve Fletcher left back in 2008!! Strong, can hold it up, and also has goals in his game... Look forward to watching him link up with Kristian Dennis next season!
He played on loan for us a few years back when we were not very good. I don't remember him contributing much.
Lewis Allesandra is supposedly our new signing
I always had a lot of time for him. He created a good partnership with Reid, he got the penalty and Ruben put them away! He looked very good on the ball until he had to shoot at goal. He is exciting, but a league two player for a reason. If he could, shoot he'd be above league two.

Rumour that Jabo Ibhere is off to Barnet

Isn't he a bit old to fit into the typical Barnet profile at 34?
57 year old Kevin Lisbie played for you fairly recently....

Yeah, but that was the Martin Allen regime, not the current manager who already said he wants to reduce squad age....

Fair enough, Jabo would do a job though. Wouldn't be disgusted if he came down the Gas as a back up. Still good for a few over a season.

Sparkes is a fairly basic Conference winger. You can probably get someone better on loan.

Though we seem to like going for the random, I find it a ridiculous concept that someone a) offered £250k for Alex McDonald and b) we rejected it for a player who didn't do that much that we signed for a free in January.

Sinclair doesn't feature in Cooper's plans and is a quality midfielder for the conference, even occasionally passed forwards rather than sideways latterly. For a right old scruffy hippy he is a bit of a Tory boy on twitter.

Seems to be, pro-Piers Morgan and slating Labour at least. great footballer though and I wondered if you might want him, teams with brothers always a classic.
I think probably no. Good player though. I love stu. My wife kissed him at our promotion party. He looked embarrassed, I was ambivalent. Shame his brother is a Tory weirdo tho.

Spoke to Cooper before our game at Sutton (league not cup IIRC) and he said Rob had refused to play on the 3G having picked up an injury on an artificial surface before, suspect that was when Cooper decided he didn't want him as I would have thought of the squad we had he was one of the ones capable of making the step up.
Hope I'm doing him a disservice on the politics but as I say his tweets have been a bit dodge.

Macca is one of the best wingers in the division... He wasn't match fit and still looked a very decent player. Hes quick and intelligent, you won't find many better widemen than him in this league next season. He was class for Burton and for Oxford and with pre season he will be just as good again.

Had it confirmed, Donal McDermott has turned down a contract offer from Rochdale and signed for Chesterfield this evening, due to be announced tomorrow lunch time.

This guy is ridiculously good when managed right and in-form and rexkon he's probably as good if not better than any left winger currently playing in this league...

Welcome back Donal, hopefully your second spell here is as fruitful as your first was back in 09/10 season... You blues!!

Thought he was good about 5 years ago.

I reckon he'd be good for us in the National League at least!

He would be a great signing for you, no doubt about it.

Unfortunately for us we thought we were signing a player we all saw five years ago but when he turned up his legs had gone and had a torrid time. On big wages we thought he'd be gone this summer but it turns out he triggered a one year extension due to a number of appearances made.

He lost his place a long time ago but I've heard nothing but good things about his professional manner whilst being out of favour.

Overall a great guy but needs to play now he only had a few years left.

Like someone said, sign him and he'll probably end up being your manager one day.

To be fair to Roberts he completely unexpectedly came in and (finally) struck up a great partnership with Legge when we were bottom after 8 games and then proceeded to be rock solid for the next 3 months, but then tailed off a bit again and got shown up for his weaknesses once more when Wharton (and even Taylor) took his position. Overall though in his two years it's impossible to say it's been anything but a disappointing signing and not value for money for the seemingly decent wages he came in on during the great Richard Money spree of 2015.

Would be a decent signing for a year in the Conference for Orient but as mentioned, I imagine he'd be your manager by the end of the season as that's clearly what he's looking for now.

If his heads right, it's a quality signing. Worrying what's happened to his career the last few years, but he's not exactly old yet and here's hoping we can get the talent out of him again. Should embarrass many a league two defender

Jabo might not fit the Barnet age profile, but the manager would be mental to pass up the chance to sign him, has the fitness of someone half his age.

Well Donal was up there with the best in league 1 in 2015/16, and having seen the other two play for Rotherham and Swindon... I know who I'd rather have

Would be fine with Alessandra but it's irresponsible to claim he was one of the best in the division last season. Hardy doesn't seem arsed about opening himself up to ridicule though

Alessandra blows hot and cold, when he's on he's really good but when he's off he really is off, definitely not a striker, more of a wide man, the lad's arse falls out in front of goal as we saw many teams this season, he could be through on goal and look to pass it instead.

Wish him well, too good for non league, he's under contract so I imagine we'll be accepting tuppence for him
