We supposedly offered to match the wages a player was getting in League 1, then Mansfield came in and doubled it.

As I said... the PSG of League 2.

If you have loads of cash it makes sense to blow your rivals out of the water. We might not use Mirfin as we have lots of good defenders, but doubling his wages to prevent him signing for you, a potential rival is worthwhile.

If other clubs are run by peasants, that's their problem.

One Call insurance made mega bucks last year, and JR said he wants championship football, if he's got the money then do it but i don't think he'd put the club in trouble.

'Supposedly' is going to be used a lot regarding Mansfield summer transfer dealings.

It appears even League 1 clubs are peasants compared to Mansfield.

I've heard that Mansfield have drawn up plans for a Tunnel Club restaurant. It's basically a restaurant with a huge glass window so that guests who enjoy the finer things in life can fork out hundreds of pounds to eat their meal while watching the Mansfield superstars lining up in the tunnel area of the stadium.

'Supposedly' will be used regarding all clubs transfer dealings. Whatever intel us supporters get, we don't know it's 100% true unless we see the actual contract.

I am amazed how many different sets of fans know exactly what we are allegedly spending next season is going to be fun I think we should just go Drew Pearson style and just bathe in the hate.

Have Carlisle fans got bored of calling themselves shit, and now focusing on us?

Mansfield are one of the most L2 clubs there are, for us to so unfairly lose transfer targets to a club like that is a right kick in the balls to us.

I bet losing in the playoffs was too.

Shit happens

To be fair it does not get much more Division Three than Mansfield Town Football Club.

Reece was quality when he played for Notts a few years back. I thought he'd go onto bigger things so not sure why he's playing for FGR in League Two. Must have gone down hill somewhere

He was alright but if it was off the pitch - must have done something pretty wrong as Derry terminated his loan because of it and then slagged him off the day after in an interview

That's the thing for us though, we're only likely to get talented players who could be playing higher if they've got some sort of an attitude/discipline problem, otherwise why would they drop down to us?

Liam Noble's been an example of that sort of risk turning out really well, sorted out his discipline and was too good for the National League. Hopefully Brown realises this could be his last chance in the Football League if he doesn't knuckle down.

We had him on loan last year. I can't remember a single thing about tbh and I'm not sure he even played. Whether that was because he showed nothing in training, or whatever other reason I don't know. Could be he just needed a chance.

In other news, I'm really not going to enjoy watching Mansfield bang out the back of everyone this year (including us)

Seems Raggett has a £350k release clause (although that's come from Norwich's end), which is less than I'd hope we'd get for him but having said that, without that clause in, the chances are we'd not have been able to get him here in the first place.

He also made us a few bob with that header at Burnley!

So as well as the Mansfield and Lincoln fans thinking they're gonna piss it next season, I think we can now put Crewe into the same category as well.

Certainly not getting that carried away, just hopefully more competitive with the top half clubs rather than the bottom half.

The difference between a summer with Davis at helm and Artell though is probably enough get people a little carried away, I don't think you blame ours fans for that, after the turd we've been served up for about 4 years.

Don't talk down Mansfield its got... err... a cracking bus station

We've got shite because all our council tax gets spent on the upkeep of the golden paved metropolis down the road.

Mansfield has nowt: no jobs, no character, no flare, nothing to shout about. However, the locals realise this, understand their place in the world and thus have no airs and graces or any Billy big-bollocks ideas of grandeur. I quite like the fact that the town is full of folks that don't look down their noses at others - it's what makes Mansfield folk tolerable.

The fact that our team has been shite for 120 years doesn't seem to bother us either. Though clearly the threat of us having the possibility of doing something for a short spell irritates some.

How long until Mansfield are put into administration and end up like Stockport? Their fans do not seem worried at the slightest with all these new signings they clearly can't afford.

We should have signed Mirfin and possibly another couple they stole under our nose, but of course Evans offers more than what he really has, the crook.

You need to look for the mansize tissues next time you pass the supermarket. You'll slip in all that dripping snot and tears.

Mansfield Town is a very strange club to have a deep hatred for, especially when you live 100 miles away from it.

We've apparently agreed terms with Scott Brown but are struggling to agree a fee with Wycombe. Hopefully it can be sorted soon though because Brown is definitely a Cheltenham legend in my eyes.

Heard Billy Waters might be heading our way, is that likely?

Possibly. Johnson's resigned to losing him apparently, his agent's touting him around as he apparently gets more money if he signs for a new club (I only glanced the interview tbf).

Lincoln also rumoured to be in for him.

For our Player of the Season, I have to say I wouldn't be all that disappointed if he went. He's a good player, no doubt, and 16 goals (in all comps) for a poor team last year is no mean feat, but he has a habit of running into dead ends, his greed is often detrimental to the team, and I'm certain that if Dan Holman gets fully fit and back to the player who fired us to promotion then Billy struggles to start.
