No player coached by Cowley will ever be shite for long, Palmer will end up playing for England and Green will go on to follow Adam Woodyard in winning the Ballon D'or.

The Cowley's are just too good AND clever. They should put Lincoln straight into league 1, they'll ruin this league.
Well duh, they proved this last season.

I didn't think Lincoln spent money and had a tiny budget? No where near ours?? I just thought the cowleys inspired players so much they just got paid with bread and water!
I don't think anyone has actually said that, have they?

Daily Mail reporting that we're on the verge of signing Blair Turgott from Bromley. Seems to have had a half decent season last year just have to make sure you don't leave your credit card unattended when he's around.

With McAnuff in discussions with the club and Pett on the transfer list I guess this signing would mean one of them is off.

I'm a bit confused about where he plays. Listed as a midfielder but played RB at Exeter. He won't be ahead of our present RB, James Justin who is probably our biggest and most promosing talent. I suspect he was bought to give us options in defence and midfield.

He'll be our second choice right back I think, simple as that. Justin is still a teenager so won't play every game. Jones made clear that whoever we brought in would not be first choice which meant getting someone in who was young enough to develop, whereas someone like O'Donnell in his mid-20s wouldn't be happy to only feature in maybe half the games.

The fact that he can play in midfield is an extra bonus that will no doubt get him some extra appearances throughout the season but it's clear from the comments today that he is primarily there as a right back option.

You're a level higher now, try to stop being a colossal turd for one moment of your life.

Another thing to add is Green I imagine will still be on massive wages just like he was at Mansfield, not a cheap player at this level either.

Green - Pleased with that and will probably get 12-15 goals I'd have thought. I can recall Green saying Rhead was his favourite strike partner and vice versa, too. We didn't have a settled striker at all last season, probably using 6 or 7 loan/short term deals, so it'll be nice to be settled up there, although it didn't really harm us doing it that way.

Palmer - I'm assuming the Cowleys came across him when he was playing in the National South at Havant when they were at Concord so will have come up against each other down there a few years back, which turned out to be the most prolific of his career. Given his size, I'm assuming he's a more mobile, but worse, version of Matt Rhead. Of the very limited viewing I've seen of him, he doesn't look a terrible squad player and one who appears hard working and willing to put himself about.

Ginnelly - A proper winger in that he keeps the width and none of this 'inside forward' malarkey with him. Suspect, like last season, we'll see him rotated with another winger. Gets into good positions but decision making wasn't great. Unusually for a young winger, he doesn't mind tracking back and doing the ugly side of things.

I think you're underestimating the gap in quality. Cheltenham absolutely smashed the conference and nearly went straight back down. Over the last few years, pretty much every team that's been promoted except Bristol Rovers have been mid table at best. You'll realise that the gap in quality is larger than you think in your first few games back.
It's not us you need to be telling, we know what it's like.

League Two was basically the Lincoln City League until our relegation.

From a pic someone has on Twitter it looks like one of our signings will be Dean Moxey.

If that's the case then that is one hell of a signing.

Talking of John Akinde. I've heard Blackburn have made a bid for him.

Jake Gray has signed for Yeovil. Cracking signing for them I think, I would happily have kept him here but was for whatever reason in Jones's bad books seemingly from day one so right move for him to leave. Given a key role in the team he will give you plenty of goals from midfield.

When's Akinola signing?

Glad to hear it, he sounds promising. Undisclosed fee but that's two players we've paid money for this pre-season. Unheard of.

Raggett and Woodyard offered new deals. Slim chance of those getting signed, I think. Woodyard the likelier because he follows the Cowleys everywhere.

I imagine both will want to have small-ish release clauses in there to extend, which will get us some money but probably not what we'd like for them. However, if that means we can keep them for a season and get a fee rather than losing them on frees or losing them this summer, then that's what we'll have to do.

Turgott was really bad for us. Scored one screamer of a goal v yous and that was it really. His movement and intelligence really killed his game. Only saw him the once for Bromley last season v Sutton and he looked exactly the same as the Turgott I remember. He had that purple patch at the end of 2016, hope that was a glimpse of what he can do, but all accounts seems to be a good kid.

Good luck to greenie, he'll score a few hopefully if he stays fit. Lost his pace and was never the player he was and he's guaranteed to miss loads of chances that he once would easily tuck away but I wish him the best. Him and Rheady will cause some teams problems. Also he won't be cheap.

"Matt scored 29 league goals as Mansfield won the National League in 2012, and another 25 goals in their first season in the EFL saw him move to the Championship with Birmingham City"

Who wrote this? Totally false. He scored 15 in the conference when we finished in the playoffs then 25 in the conference when we won it then went to brum. He didn't score 25 in league two in our first season back in the lague. He scored 16 and then 10 once he returned to us two years later.

Palmer, you'll see how shit he is. A panic buy that never should of found his way to league football

Probably the same person who did the Lee Angol write-up on your site about his time with us. :bg:

He scored 29 league goals the season we finished in the Play Offs and 27 the season after (25 in the league)

I genuinely wish all the best to greenie, will always be liked and respected at Mansfield for what he did in the conference.

Got really unlucky with the injury at Birmingham, but for me he just wasn't quite there in the 2nd spell. I think after a lot of soul searching Mansfield fans realised green isn't the forward damn we need if we're going to be serious about promotion.

Will get a warm reception from me, that's for sure.

As for Palmer, he's just a complete fruad of a footballer, I can't put it any fairer than that.

Just wanted to echo what JD said really. I really rated him and personally think it's another one where he has been really harshly treated by Jones. Didn't get many chances here at all but usually made an impact when he did including with a few goals.

How we have let him go but kept Cook I'll never know, the quote by Jones saying he "couldn't see him impacting the team" I find particularly laughable with that fact in mind!

Genuinely hope he does well for you.
