Craig Sibbald from Falkirk.*

*possibly. Definitely someone from Falkirk.**

**probably. Absolutely definitely Scottish.

Never heard of him. A quick google suggests he is a technically gifted but small and weak midfielder, so does sound like a Jones player... not exactly the type we are in need of unless he is a class above our other options.

We have Jordon Richards ex poolies on trial. Doubt he will sign though. Indicates to me we probably won't sign Hunt

You had Elliott Hodge playing for you today as well I read?

Doubt that one will happen. We released him having spent all season out on loan.

He was fucking shite. Some of our fans liked him because he lambasted the players in public after getting tonked like 5-0 by both Carlisle and Mansfield but seemed to overlook the fact he managed a team getting tonked 5-0 by Mansfield and Carlisle. He was no better as a Notts County manager than Fullarton and it was absolutely mind-boggling that some fans were annoyed at us 'messing him around' and 'letting him go'.

Whilst we're on the subject, I'm all for Weird Dale putting an end to the Noble saga - fuck paying 6 figures for that moron.
1. Coops kept doomed County in Football League
2. FGR promoted in his first season in charge
3. Dale Vince is a self-made multi-millionaire so entitled to be a little eccentric.
4. Both sets of fans are pleased the Noble sage is over.

I mean you're not losing out by having a look but he is a bad defender, couldn't get his game for us and ended up at Alfreton last season, half expect him to be playing in the Northern League this season.

From reading the Falkirk forum (yes I have nothing better to do on a Saturday night!) it seems a fee would be due for him, with someone suggesting 250K!

From the sound if it he is the exact type of midfielder we do not need but that Jones loves.

DOOMED?!

We were 13 points above the relegation zone with 10 games left when he took over. Build that man a statue.

Interesting about redundancies being made by Ecotricity recently. Maybe all is not as rosy as Dale Vince would have you believe regarding green energy.

It may well be bitterness on the part of the person I spoke to about it, but the money being thrown at FGR hasn't been seen as overwhelmingly positive. Like I said though, that could well be down to sour grapes.

Yeah another google reveals he was linked with moves to Rangers, Celtic and Championship clubs in January but because he'd been offered a new contract the compensation would be pushing £200k. Can't see it being him because a) if those clubs were interested, he would surely have better options than us and b) no way we'd pay that kind of fee for a player we don't actually need per Jones's own admission, surely?

Does seem to be the popular rumour on here, Outlaws, twitter and even the Falkirk forum though so maybe it is him... guessing the fee would have to be half that for us to consider it, really can't begin to imagine us wanting to pay that kind of fee for a luxury addition.

Thinking again though - would we need to pay any compensation? Isnt it if a player in the same scenario goes from England to Scotland the English club doesnt get anything -so thinking the same may apply here?

Greg Moorehouse, an Irish striker we have on trial, previously of Glenavon, scored in our friendly today,
Ex-Liverpool youth and Bolton Jordan Lussey also played 45.

Hmm that does sort of ring a bell actually, didn't we get O'Donnell on a free despite being under 24 and offered a new deal because it was an international transfer?

Although Falkirk fans seem to think he would fall under the FIFA legislation of a set development fee based on years trained at the club etc. No idea which is right to be fair.

If those clubs linked were really interested then he must have something, but reading that Falkirk forum you mentioned he really does sound like exactly the type we are overflowing with so not bothered if we get him. Unless it means Cook gets forced out, but I won't be getting my hopes up on that front!

Here's our goals from yesterday.

The lad who scores the 4th definitely looks like Ronan Hale (and his first name is definitely Ronan, heard Lee Dykes calling to him clear as day), but according to Birmingham City's website, Hale went away with their U23s to Portugal yesterday.

Yeah doomed is ridiculous. We were in a far worse situation this year when Nolan took over.

Notts will likely still negotiate over Noble. All this stinks of a club trying to get more money. Noble himself either hands in a transfer request or sticks to his lucrative contract.

We also have Kevin Foley on trial by the looks of things, he didn't play against Rolls Royce though.

Hardy has indicated 2 players will sign next week. My guess is a RB and a Center Back

I can confirm our triallist scorer is Ronan Coughlan, released by Huddersfield in June. I'm at the open day and just asked him so there you go, straight from the horses mouth.

seems to be the only trialist, I think the other numberless players in yesterdays squad were youth. The left wing back was Portuguese youth Papa Belchior.

I thought they said Belchior was the forward who came on during the second half? The left wing back looked very comfortable on the ball, definitely worth a further look.

The second half team sheet on Twitter said there were 4 trialists, surely they'd name them if they were youth players.

We've signed striker Olufela Olomola on loan from Southampton. Looks good in his youtube video, but doesn't everyone.

oh maybe. The LWB isn't at the open day, but then again neither are Bonham, Joyce and O'Sullivan

From memory (and I'm quite happy to be corrected) it was a lot closer than 13 pts which was probably the points difference from bottom club. I seem to think County were 5th or 6th from bottom when he took over.
It was common knowledge that Cooper was given a short contract with the condition that he kept County in Football League.
I don't think promoted FGR are building a statue to him so would not expect same at Notts County.

If this is true it means (If it weren't known already) that we're going all out for promotion this year and spending big. It would probably push our budget up towards £3m!

Swindon still spent more than that when they spent big under Paolo in fairness. So I don't think that's too bad...

Decent ground considering the level they play at. You can buy drink from a club, which is practically inside the ground, and take it onto the terrace during the match.

Did notice a few people sat on the bank, it was only a fiver to get in!

It was the first time I'd been, Celtic Nation used to play there, hence the green. Nice place to enjoy a game of footy and a gorgeous day... I got mild sunburn.

The West Coast Mainline runs just across the top of that bank. It's only a matter of time before a wayward shot hits the side of a Pendolino, and that will truly be a great day.

We were 19th and 13 points clear of the relegation zone - with 10 games left, we took 11 points from those 10 games and ended in 17th, 17 points clear of relegation. We started the season well enough (best home record in the league at Christmas or something daft like that) whereby no matter how shite Fullarton and Cooper did, we were still never really in danger.

He was on a short-term contract with a points target (which although undisclosed, I believe was 12) which would trigger discussions for an extended contract (not contractually, it was all very informal). Some seemed to think he'd done enough of a good job (I wasn't one of them) whereby we should keep him anyway but he played dumb and clearly already had offers from elsewhere (hence some of the irony currently).

The way he acted regarding Noble was a bit sneaky but I'd sound a bit weird complaining about that when I was very much in favour of us releasing Noble anyway.

Anyway, I don't follow this thread that closely (it's a nightmare to filter through all the Luton & Mansfield stuff) but we're linked with Cook from Tranmere - which would just make re-signing Jon Stead even more of a farce.
