Which is therefore my point that you've got a huge budget for this level and so should rightfully be up there as joint favourites.

Definitely need a ball winning midfielder still. Would take a decent striker if one is going as well. Hopefully the number 11 shirt being left free is a sign that someone decent is going to come in. Won't be amused if its the new "Bee Army" number.

Whats the record signing cost at this level? 400k must be pretty close.

Our record signing was 65k for Tony Kellow in 1980...!
I think it is still Hreidarsson in 98 for Brentford for 750k

Schmeichel is possible but it was undisclosed

Pope should do well this season and think Wilson is one of the divisions better signings this summer. Wilson should stand out for us.

We've signed Liam Walker after his trial. Pretty happy with that, has looked decent enough and is something totally different to what we have, but his missing international weeks will be annoying.

Seems a luxury 'on his day' player but we've got the sort of team whereby you could probably have one of those with players like Hewitt, Milsom and Thompson alongside him.

I think montano is our best signing but most fans will probably have never heard of him. Wilson should do well yes but not sure if he will stay fit all season and that maybe why he has dropped down to league 2.

Yes, Wilson stood out for me too, if he can recapture his form of 3 or 4 years ago. And Porter's a decent acquisition as well, proven goals at this level.

Ah yeah, forgot Cov - McNulty, Vicenti, Doyle, Kelly and Grimmer, I'd say they've probably done the best business so far this summer...

Right now I'd be happy with that.

The lack of firepower in this squad concerns me. A lack of goals + a leaky defence... It's a combination that could spell disaster, god help us if we sold Adams to add to our weakness.

It's an absolute joke mate.

Lo and behold, 2 trialists in our squad for the friendly today. Who'd have thought? :bdick:

We've signed Richie Bennett from Barrow after triggering his £50,000 buyout clause.

Hopefully he'll give us the firepower we need to cover our losses.

Still, if Adams goes we're fucked.

Jordan Lussey is one of our trialists today. Correctly identified on a FB group

I know the second one but I'm not allowed to reveal them...

Really happy with that signing, as long as we don't go back another step and lose Jones or Adams I'll be much more optimistic for the season.

It would be such a Carlisle United thing to do, announce a player like him then follow it up with the sale of our best goal creator.

Monty should be good for us at Vale Park on our wide pitch. We've done well with wingers who have been average elsewhere such as Marshall, JMW and Vincent so he's one that could turn out to be a real good signing for us.

Think Brown has slowly built a decent outfit but crucial we sign a left back and attacking midfielder before Crawley if we want to challenge at the top 7.

Already had an unsuccessful trial with us this summer.

On the topic of best signings, been very happy with pretty much all the players we've brought in. Think Grimmer and McNulty will end up being the standouts though.

Monty is going to rip up league 2. You'll love him.

The Colombian Myles Weston. This will be his 5th League 2 club - probably wouldn't be still in League 2 if he'd ripped it up.

Less said about Montano the better I think anyway. Interesting character.

He was very good for us and is only 25. Perhaps this will be his second year of ripping it up.

And now I've seen the second one mentioned - it's Kyle Spence, ex-Coventry.

Not sure which one is on the pitch currently but he's tearing it up - goal and an assist so far

Jordan Lussey is the trialist that scored and set one up. Already written off by one supporter as he only played 12 games for Southport last year.

Yeah I resisted the urge to log onto my long-ignored account on OB to reply to that tool. If I give in and reply to one I'll be there for months replying to the others like him...

We're signing Karleigh Osborne, been on trial a couple of games and then tonight came on as sub with his named and numbered shirt on which sort of gives it away!

Right back Daniel Alfei was the only trialist to start for us against Bristol Rovers tonight so would imagine that Way is interested in signing him.

There's still time in this transfer window for Mansfield or Lincoln or someone to find out we've allowed a 40p release clause into Bennett's contract and swoop in.

Kyle Spence was highly rated here but never made it. Also, he's about 5'4''

Who cares? Fair play to them. Lincoln were brilliantly successful last season and are now reaping the rewards. Good luck to them (for 44 games, lose to us twice if ya like)

Half a million on one player, but Cowley keeps a tight budget remember. That's about the same amount their entire squad was being paid before he arrived.

Take what Evans said, divide it by two, take more off, and then you're about there for Bostwick. Nowhere near a £400k fee.

Suggestions otherwise are laughable, and quite frankly, incorrect.

As I said earlier you don't know, we don't know even anyone who is in the know don't know. Only people who know won't let anyone else know.

Adams is rumoured to be going to cash strapped Chesterfield for a measly 75k.

As for Bennet he must be good as the fans on the Barrow forum are very bitter towards us getting him saying stuff like they hope we get relegated and that we should join the Scottish league.
