Decent signing for Barnet that. He's frustrating but he's a decent player, and will get goals. He's really, really greedy though, if he can get that out of his game, he'll be a great L2 player.

I think that's why my reaction was the way it is, I thought he could have done better but didn't seem to do it - and was far too wasteful infront of goal.

Will be interesting to see how he does.

We also sold Margetts to Scunny for about £50k and managed somehow to get a fee for Theo Robinson going to Southend, despite him being on non-contract terms. Something about a 7-day approach or somesuch nonsense.

£20k.

They left it too late (well, very late as in a day before the window closed!) to put in a 7-day request, as you have to do for a non-contract player, so paying a fee was the only way they'd get him. Rather ironic given that we were only able to sign him because Brown sacked him off from a trial down there in the summer.

The problem with a one season financial windfall is that if you fuck it up this year you're in the shit for years to come. Hence why those relegated from the Prem and don't make it back with their parachute payments go in to struggle. QPR, Wigan, Blackburn etc

Well, yeah, that's assuming it all gets thrown into one season. I suspect we'll be doing more of a Cambridge than QPR or Blackburn.

Got a new training ground to pay for, new stadium bits and pieces (bit of a slow burner, that one, but we're moving), new ticketing system etc etc and all other associated costs with getting promoted, most notably with getting back our youth levels back, starting with Category 3, which has come through. Now we can guarantee we'll get fees for youth players, unlike the last six seasons (I think Luton had trouble with that in their NL days Kenneth E End?).

Doesn't seem to be anything in that, there's apparently been no talk of it at Chesterfield's end and also they seem to be in a worse financial situation than us and in no position to sign any high-earners, even if the fee is small.

My guess is it's just one of these rumours started by people who like to claim they're itk, and get all excited when a thread they started on a club forum becomes a rumour reported on Sky Sports transfer centre or somesuch.

It's ok because if Adams goes then we can play Hallam Hope out wide on the wing instead of upfront.

We made the playoffs 5 years in a row when this kid was still soiling his nappies. The club know what to expect from league 2. Let's not kid ourselves it's a very average league, some very good players but mostly average.

He's got 5 teams finishing below 40 points as well. Says it all.

Fair play to him for going through each team individually with his reasons though.
