We've signed former Bolton keeper Will Jaaskalienen on a 1 year deal. Son of Jussi unsurprisingly. Not sure why we've brought him in tbh. Only logic I can see is that Ben Garratt might well be off in the next couple of weeks and we're getting a replacement bedded in before he goes. If Garratt stays, then Will isn't going to get much playing time. Just an odd signing unless something with Garratt is already in the works.

Why would we sell Garratt when he's just signed a 2 year deal in Summer and been performing way below par for a good year only to replace him with a seriously inexperienced kid in a very important position? There's no logic at all there.

It's obvious that they dont rate Richards. This is the reason we've got this lad on the books which makes me wonder why we extended Richards contract in the first place. If Ben Garratt isn't a Crewe player by the time we play Grimsby I'll eat my hat.

And the latest name mentioned in our quest for the ultimate striker (who when we sign probably will only score 5) is Jonson Clarke-Harris

Couldnt sign a top striker so youve settled for 3? Quantity not quality.

Hirst is off to Rovrum it seems. Worried we will have to put up with Jon Stead forever.

We need another striker, it's not like we need one who will score 20 goals or we will struggle to compete though.

Must mean we've been got a replacement all good to go if he does leave. Unless he's planning on using Bostwick as a 3rd choice CB, but I doubt it.
Risky with only 3 CBs especially with only just back from injury, one a loanee and one who may leave at any moment in the next two weeks.
Either we have someone lined up like you say Luke or Raggett is seeing out his contract?

You sell Garratt if you get an offer you deem acceptable. Someone offers anything north of £750k, you take it and run for the hills in my eyes. Not that I think anyone would offer that at this point. The signing just makes no sense if Garratt is still here come September, which like you I expect he will be.

If signed him because they don't Richards, its just as bad, because they should never have extended Richards in the summer. If they are happy with Richards as the No 2/U23s keeper, then why sign this lad. Waste of budget on either WJ or Richards, whichever way you want to look at it. And they should be concentrating on getting a defender and a midfielder in, especially given Jones' injury is dragging on.

Apparently we are after Dion Donahue. Is he a left back, or central midfielder? Seen conflicting reports Chesterfield fans.. We are short in both areas to be fair

One year deal, probably on the lowest wage. He's just come from a spell at Leek, so potentially is coming on Neil Baker's recommendation, which is no bad thing. Although the links with GK coach/Jussi kinda makes the deal a little fishy.

More than likely just a honest 'year long trial'. Not a waste if he turns out half decent. I don't see Garratt or Richards going. I think we're safely in for a season of fans clamouring for Artell to throw in a keeper who's never played a pro game and has been useless in U-23s the moment Garratt drops one.

We've signed Jordan Green on a free from Bournemouth.

Because after conceding 10 goals in our first two league games what we really need is another winger.

Oh dear. If you thought Jeffers was bad you ain't seen nothing yet. Couldn't get in our team last season which took some doing.

Never worked out for him here. To be fair, it was a poor team he was playing in and the service wasn't good. He did ok at Peterborough when on loan there last season but his legs aren't there any more so his harrying and closing people down that used to bring him a lot of success has gone from his game.

DC's said something could happen this afternoon with Raggett and as it stands, he's not sure he'll be travelling down with the team tomorrow to Exeter.

EDIT - Also got Jordan Slew on trial, who I don't think has done anything of any note since leaving Sheffield United for Blackburn.

Sounds where we sell him but keep on loan for the rest of the season but we have players lined to replace him if not by the sounds of it.
Wonder if this WBA related as I know they watched him and Pulis has been to see him too, with Evans being wanted by Man City.

No doubt that Craig has the ability. He is skillfull on the ball and seems to play with a lot of energy but surprisingly for a proven goalscorer he couldn't find the net. The other problem is just as you asked his injury record. You could never rely on him being a regular first team player not just because of his injuries but the length of time its takes for him to recover not helped by his age. When fully fit he could be a good asset if you have a proven goalscorer alongside him. However I feel his days are numbered and his purchase can be seen a risk, which I think your manager has recognised by offering him a one year deal.

Sheffield Wednesday have loaned us winger Jack Stobbs for the season.

Made 2 apps for them and captained their U21's to the title last year.

Making good use of the loan market this season. Not the attacking central midfielder we need though!

He'll be playing up front with Akinfenwa so hopefully they'll be a good partnership as it looks as Scott Kashket will be out for months not weeks.

Hope he does well he's the captain of our successful under 23 squad and at 17 years old made his debut for us. Very highly rated but a serious injury held him back for a while, of course it'll be down to how he adapts to proper football but he might be a little gem for you.

Raggett is set to join Norwich who will loan him back to us until the end of the season.

Win-win really given he's out of contract at the end of the season.

Now being reported as an initial loan back until January, which is still decent. Pleased there's at least some clarity and we have him for at least the next 4 months so can just focus on signing a striker now.

And initial fee rumoured to be £250,000, of which a percentage will go to Dover.

Maybe we can get a better striker than Slew with the Raggett cash.
