We're being linked with loan deals for Tottenham youngsters Jack Roles and Japhet Tanganga.

Roles is a midfielder who scored 20 goals for their U18 and 19s last season and Tanganga is a defender who played for England U20s at the recent Toulon tournament.

We need players in both positions so would be pleased.
If Tanganga is the player who I'm thinking of from last week, he is a man mountain and would be a terrific signing for Exeter.

Been told Matt Taylor is off to Swindon, didn't play against Charlton and Edinburgh pretty much confirmed he was leaving, seems Swindon is his destination.

What position does he play these days? Have his legs not gone yet?

He's alright. Not really got a position though IMO. 'OK' left back, but positionally (word?) suspect. Not a left winger. Can play CM, but I'm not sure what role he does there because he's not a big tackler or overly attacking minded. Ordinarily I wouldn't mind him going, but we have no left backs now, so we're up schtuck there.

Thanks Spireite. We need a left back but word is that we'll be playing him in midfield so I guess time will tell. We do need an energetic, defensive midfielder so he'll be straight into the team next week I reckon.

Looks like you didn't miss him at the weekend.

I'm sure you can already afford a better striker, the problem is actually finding one.

We are willing to break our club record transfer fee but can't get one!

Slew ain't that bad either to be honest, you would of been better signing him than Palmer.

You'd be better off signing a brush than Palmer, at least it would be offside fewer times

We've signed Sid Nelson on loan from Millwall until January. Would've preferred a more experienced player but we certainly need another defender.

Good promising young player - decent centre back but struggled at right back in our 4-0 home defeat against Orient. All in all did well for us at end of last season. Shored up our defence along with O'Brien and Demetriou. Should do a good job for you.

Matt Taylor deal as good as done. 35 now, doubt he'll play every week though.

Can play CM and LB I think so handy enough signing. Presume it will be a short term deal until the end of the season given his wage.

Him and Hussey will be fighting over the set pieces!

Matt Taylor was a bit of a hero of mine I must say, still got a picture with him that he signed from when I was pretty young knocking about somewhere. Cant remember him having played against us since he left so will be good to see him when Swindon come in a few weeks.

Think his versatility and experience make him a decent signing. Guess it all depends what he's got left in the tank.

Right now I'm not at work I'll give my two penneth on Matt Taylor.

When he started he was what you'd expect, technically good and contributing via set pieces. Unfortunately due to a clause in his contract he had to play pretty much every game, and by October time his form had dropped off massively. He looked shot, and his game fell apart. The clause he'd negotiated has probably been his downfall rather ironically. One of his biggest faults is that people simply run past him, we were very shoddy defensively last year and part of the reason is that Taylor didn't 'screen' the back 4 well enough.

If you can keep him fresh he'll still have something to offer but he just can't get about the pitch anymore. You'll have to weigh up whether he contributes enough with the dead ball to warrant almost carrying him in certain games.

I wish him well as he scored some cracking free kicks last year and did show glimpses of the old Taylor, but I think he's a bit of a gamble if you want to play a fast, attacking style.

Is he fit or is he injury prone 34 or 19 like the rest of the shit we have? Can't believe how many signings we have made since July 2016 46 players I think it was of which only about 4 were any good.

Mid to late twenties and played 40 games last season I believe! Unusual for us but should be a good signing if it is him and we get it done.

Evans confirmed we attempted to sign James Collins, but wouldn't/couldn't match what Luton offered.

Doubt it would have made a difference unless we significantly improved on their offer Considering everything like location. Not in a million years he would of picked Mansfield over Luton.

You're also relying on Stevans telling the truth once in a while. Nothing to do with Saturdays game in mind with his comments.

Surely he'd have been flattered about interest from us. And it's hardly inconceivable that you would be able to offer more than us, you've money in the bank and get much higher gates than us
