Akwasi Asante sent back to Solihull, the club making out like it's to get fitness up but 3 months strikes me as a long time for that. If he gets fully fit and is in our squad again and Slade doesn't give him a chance, that'll be another one on the ever growing list of nonsensical decisions.

Stop worrying because

Paul Hayes signs for Newport County after having his Wycombe contract cancelled "by mutual consent".

A 6/10 signing for me, this one. Good footballing brain for sure, but the legs have gone and seemed to be permacrocked towards the end with us.

I wouldn't write him off totally though, I reckon if you give him service in the right way, he could still be a good poacher.

And I thought Akinfenwa would be a dead mediocre signing for us, so just goes to show what I know.

Either way, good luck to the lad.

He can't shake off that achilles problem i imagine he'll miss more games than he plays. I hope he hasn't pulled a fast one over his pay off from us after saying he was retiring then signs for another League 2 club.

Depending on who you believe, we're interested in bringing in Andy Cook from Tranmere in January and currently have Matty Fryatt on trial, who had spent the summer with Walsall.

Murmurs that we're signing Cameron Stewart, who looks to have been without a Club last season, presumably down in injury. Has been with us for the last month or so and prior to that on trial at Charlton. Spent the majority of his career in the Championship.

We've signed him until January. Do we need another winger?

If he pops up on the far post/penalty area and puts away some of the chances we've been creating I dont really care!

Jonathan Douglas (ex Brentford, Ipswich) has been training with us with a view to earning a contract apparently.

Can't really see the point of signing another midfielder, we've got loads already and are now playing one less than we apparently originally planned to. Might mean that McCormack is crocked long term but even then we've got Glen Rea and Pelly Ruddock for the holding role, seems odd reducing their opportunities for a guy with maybe a season or two left of his career.

Of course we might not actually be interested at all and just helping him get fit, probably knows McCormack well from his time at Brentford.

The amount of players we sign is a joke. I hope we get rid of about 10 of them in January. Wilson Forrester pyke and a couple of these keepers can fuck off for starters.

I'm assuming that's a youth loan and isn't covered by the transfer window or something?

Emergency loan as our two keepers are injured and our current emergency loan keeper then got injured we could replace him... Boot is the only fit keeper we have who has made less than 5 appearances so you can make that move... I’d play Boot though especially after the new lads horror show yesterday!

We will.

Wilson will probably go as his atitude has been awful. Pyke isn’t getting a look in so may as well go. Forrester won’t go as he will be injured in a five minute cameo. Like him just can’t get fit!

Need to keep Whitfield though!

Got injured second game and then had a couple more games a few weeks later and got injured again!

Crawley played a senior cup game last night. As usual all the players who haven't played recently were given game time....except Dean Cox!

If he can't even get a game in this competition then he really has no chance under our current management and I would expect him to go in January.

I've no idea what the row is about but for gawds sake kids. Grow up!

Neil Eardley is close to triggering his appearance clause. Initially on a deal until January because of his previous fitness issues but he seems to be over them and when it happens he'll get a deal until the end of the season.
Nothing on the OS, but he confirmed after the weekend's game that it's been triggered.

In other news, Norwich want to play Sean Raggett in third FA Cup Third Round game. If he plays that, we're the only other club he'd be able to play and it sound we're still hopeful of getting him at some point at the back end of January. All depends on how he does in their games.

What was the point in them signing him if he's going to spend virtually the whole season with you?

Well he got a 3 year deal so there's no real rush for him.

They and him, rightly, thought a jump up from NL to Championship was a big one and that he'd be better served stepping up a league with us where he's already settled and knows the squad and management. They also signed a guy from Borrusia Dortmund as someone to go straight in at CB as well so I think they're quite well covered.

It was sorted late in August, so he had spent all of pre-season and the beginning of the season with us anyway.
