Which brainless L2 side are in for our centre half Scott Harrison?

He's not even Northern League standard. Please take him off our hands whoever you are :bdick:

Carlisle is the word going around our end, was being linked with Spennymoor earier in the week?

Rose, Angol and Hemmings are all scoring at 1 in 3 or better. They’ve all got more than our highest scoring forward. It can’t JUST be that.

We're not taking the chances were creating. Obviously there's games that we've not played well and we've got a draw when we shouldn't have - but 10 draws tells is own story.

Obviously I don’t see them anywhere as much etc etc, but there’s three Mansfield players who I can confidently say would start for Notts - Hemmings, Angol and Rose.

I'd expect him to sign for you.

After last summer SE will be desperate for a goal scoring forward to go with danny, it's the reason we're in 6th and not closer to Luton and county. Though hemmings and Angol have scored 2 each in the last 3.
I'd be disappointed if he signed for you over us and I say that from the view of him being a Lincoln lad, coming through our youth system and his family having ties to the club as well.

If it was either you and other clubs then he'd probably opt for Evans again because he had his most successful years under him.

Woodyard to Luton rumours won't go away. Some saying it's already a done deal with Frecklington replacing him. Not a bad replacement if true, but he's past his best now and seems a bit too injury prone for my liking. Woodyard on the other hand is on the way up and is absolutely integral to the way we play.

So much was promised from this transfer window but if we lose both Raggett and Woodyard - basically our best two players - Cowley will do very well to keep us in the top seven. Re-signing Theo Robinson isn't exactly what I had hoped either.
The injuries wouldn't bother me too much. Marriott came here last season with a bad injury record but, aside from a freak landing in a reserve match, was fit all season andEardley signed this season having hardly played for the previous 2 years (managed to get Matt Rhead playing 55+ games a season as well).

From what has been tentatively discussed on our forums over the last few days, Frecklington's got a head or heart decision to make - Mansfield or Lincoln.
Mansfield will probably pay him more than he's on at Rotherham to get him but if he joins us Evans will go off on one like he did about us signing Bostwick, pot kettle...

Couple of Twitter rumours saying we’ve enquirer about Olufela Olomola from Southampton who has just finished a good loan spell at Yeovil.

Yeovil want him back but I would love us to make a move as he’s just the type of player we lack.

Yep, started the season really well, scoring 7 in the first 7 league games, hasn't scored since in League 2. We obviously bought in Stockley and him and Reid couldn't form a partnership together, with Reuben eventually losing his place in the starting 11.

It's a shame it didn't work out in the end but it's probably the right call, especially with Forest Green paying a fee for him. He could do well for them. He's proven at this level and with the right partner/system he can get goals.

With that and the "bit of a wreck physically" it starts to make more sense why Exeter would let him go, when I saw the rumour I thought - seriously? the guy's got an OK scoring record, why would a) ECFC want to release him, b) why would he want to go into a relegation dogfight?

But yeah, he can score goals, so with FGR's predicament I would say that's about as good a forward signing as they could realistically expect without breaking the bank.

Uninteresting fact - I once sat next to Reuben Reid's dad when he (RR, not his dad) was playing for us, and we got shat upon by Swansea in the Tinpot Trophy in the period when they were soaring up the leagues. It was one of those occasions when you just had to clap the opposition off and go, "yup, we got schooled. next...". Thankfully there were only 37 hardy souls there to see it. Ah, South Wales on a Tuesday night...:pond:

There's nothing wrong with Mansfield's forwards, they score plenty. In fact it's much better to have guys chipping in than one guy scoring 25 the season.

Need someone with some bollocks in midfield for a change. Frecklington would be an outstanding signing but if he is actually leaving Rovrum then I think it will be back to Lincoln. We do have Evans inside knowledge on what Lincoln pay on our side though...

£60,000 for Dillon Phillips is one of the most insulting bids I've ever seen for a player, should be our first choice keeper for a lot of Charlton fans.

Most people would laugh in your face and tell Forest Green to never contact them again, sadly our owner is probably seriously considering it.

Unfortunately for little clubs like Charlton you just have to suck it up when one of the big boys like us comes in :D

In one respect I fully agree with you, but as with all negotiations what information is missing from the rumour?
There may be extra payments to Charlton after DP gains enough points to ensure FGR play in the EFL next season?
There may be extra payments to Charlton after a minimum game number is broken?
I don't know, but that is common bargaining policy these days.

I've always felt when we've got lots of people chipping in that we're not that great going forward. Complaining about how shit we are upfront has been a common topic among the Carlisle fans on this forum, in fact we're currently 7th in the league on goals scored, and before only scoring once in the last two games we were 4th. Still complaining about not having that 25-goal striker though because we don't score when it matters. We've had a few good wins this season, scored 3+ goals in a lot of games where we've won quite easily, but in those games, the goals could have been scored by anyone, and we have a good midfield who can lay chances on a plate against weak opposition. We can't grind out results though because in those games where we don't get the run of pitch, a lot of players who can chip in with goals just isn't good enough. We need someone who we can rely on to score regularly. We'd still be winning the easy games with threes and fours because in those games it almost doesn't matter who you've got up front, but we'd also be getting the important equalisers and winners in games where chances are a little harder to come by.

Guessing Charlton's management undervalue the player and just think they're letting you take a surplus goalie off their hands, which is a familiar story. Not that long ago we allowed a club in the league below us to take Nakhi Wells off our hands because he wasn't getting the game time.

Don't tease me...

He just signed a 3 year deal in summer, would you offer him a 2.5 year deal? I'm pretty sure we'd let you have him for nothing.

My apologises thought he only signed an 18 month deal when he joined you from us last year.

Phillips is a top keeper, there would have to be some ridiculous clauses for it to be worth our while and for there to be negotiations the bid must first be accepted, £60,000 won't be.

Our owner has announced that he's in talks with several parties re. the sale of the club so he certainly wouldn't entertain any clauses that future owners would gain from.

Nope, Phillips is extremely highly rated by Karl Robinson as this article will show you:

The idea was for him to go on a season-long loan but due to the sale of our other keeper, Phillips had to stay as no.2. He'll be our first choice keeper soon enough unless a bigger club come calling.

Admittedly I am biased, but Dillon is such a naturally gifted goalkeeper and I can't believe he's not number 1 for Charlton yet. When we had him, I genuinely don't recall a single mistake he made. He was clever as well, the FGR fans will remember how he wound Jon Parkin up before his penalty at our place, which he then ended up blazing over the bar. That miss was completely down to Phillips getting in Parkin's head. His reactive shot-stopping is phenomenal as well.

I genuinely felt he was better for us than Jack Butland and they were similar ages when they played for us.

£60k is a joke (though if FGR have been led to believe he's available for that then why wouldn't they make that bid) - and Charlton would be absolute fools to accept it.

I and many other Charlton fans feel the same.

Last season we had Declan Rudd on loan who was injured for just over a month. Phillips stepped in and for me, was better. He unfairly lost his place once Rudd was fit again.

Robinson doesn't feel he is ready to be No1 yet, and I suppose at only 22 and with all the unrest at the club at the moment he could be right. I would like to have seen Phillips spend the season out on loan to a league club and come back ready to start for us next season. We and He have been let down by our incompetent board who allowed our third choice keeper to leave and not bring another in.

Maybe we might end up taking him on loan then? That would be just as good imo.

We've been in for him the last two summers, but your board has stalled throughout leading to us taking in inferior keepers on loan and it actually costing us at the start of both seasons. This season, we replaced the loanee with a full-time keeper in Scott Flinders, so any chance of us coming back for him now is all but gone. Gutted by that though.

I would be happy to see him go on loan to you until the end of the season, and perhaps if he does well the whole of next season too. Can't see that happening though as we still have the problem of having no back up keeper.

Alex Woodyard and Conor Shaughnessy (on loan) to Luton? The latter recently signed a 4 year contract at Leeds.
