Paul Hurst gives us some top banter and steals Sam Jones from us (though he’s never played under him before). Very disappointed that Jones is gone but I can’t begrudge him a move to League 1, especially with the way he’s been treated this season.

We've signed Jordan Nicholson permanently from Posh and Tin Plavotic on loan from Bristol City.

Cheltenham fans - thoughts on Plavotic?

Not a bad player in fairness, certainly did OK for us last season.

Grimsby fans, unless Suliman has improved markedly in the last 12 months (and being young he certainly could have) then he really isn't an exciting signing. Looked way out of his depth in men's football when with us last season.

Mason Bennett from Derby until the end of the season. Seems he has helped two teams gain promotions already.

I think I’m pretty safe in saying the anti Mansfield comments are more down to Fatty Fat Boy being appointed rather than Mansfield being in the play off places or higher.

Tbh nobody really cared about Mansfield , not even the Mansfield public apparently, when you decided to drop down into non-league Football for the first time in the club’s history. Maybe you were just kinda forgotten by the football league :)

Now that’s what you call having ‘fun down there’ lol

You certainly aren’t bothered are you, Still spend more time talking about Mansfield than I do mind

Vale now nearly £2 million richer for a player sold for 25k three and a half years ago. Happy days...

Hopefully we either see the money and if we stay up invest in undoing the colossal mess on the field that’s seen us drop from a top half League one outfit to struggling in this pit hole or Smurf takes the cash and now asks for a reasonable selling price and we can move on from the failed experiments.

Let’s hope it’s the latter

Just me who thinks Mason Bennet will be decent at this level? Grant had barely played league football but turned out well so willing to give him the benefit of the doubt

Yeah, I’m more than happy with Bennett. People moaning about it not being a ‘proven goalscorer’, but we score plenty of goals. Our main issues are that we can be horribly one paced and don’t have anyone that can beat a man - on the face of it should solve both of those.

We're waiting on confirmation of paperwork before announcing a permanent signing, looking forward to yet more disappointment.

I can’t believe we haven’t signed a left back.

Confirmed Jake Jervis now. Wasn’t expecting that at all.

Seems he is better out wide, wonder if we will look to go 433 a bit more with Cornick on the other side. Might help get the best from Collins.
He won't have come cheap. Hope he gets dogs abuse and has a stinker on Saturday

Which would make a change of Mansfield fans talking about Luton.

You still have that daft mentality that should have vanished when you entered the Conference but nobody cares, at all.

Mansfield, Chesterfield and County were all in for Miller yesterday.

Poor Spireites, was never going to happen was it.

Surprised we didn't get another striker in, but there has been the odd occasion where we've announced someone early the following day although from what our reporters are saying, it sounds unlikely.

Unless we panicked and changed our minds right at the last second, we definitely weren’t. Happy about that too meself.

Probably just as an isolated individual player, but Bennett is much closer to what we specifically needed.

Who's Miller? And how do you know we were interested? Or are you regurgitating bad rumours from your board? Don't turn into Adam now, you're better than that

Giles Coke in after deadline. That looks like a good signing, we're very short in midfield.

Seems that Theo Robinson didn't fancy coming back to L2 and stayed at Southend.

I suspect Sam Jones was also one we were interested in, but he went off to Shrewsbury.

Can almost certainly say we weren't in for Miller. Infact, i'd never heard of him until I read this thread so text a mate at Peak FM who has confirmed we never made an approach - we were after Dodds, Coke and a couple of loanees, which we all got.

The only player we didn't get was the one we had lined up as Dennis' replacement who signed for Cov, hence why the Dennis deal never went through.
