Always thought JCR was pretty effective. He often turned back as there would be nothing forward to pass to as we'd play one up with Curle and have not been blessed with pace throughout the team in years under loads of managers.
Pretty much our problem at the moment, though for most of our time under Curle, it's been the opposite. At the moment we're still lacking a big domineering man in the box to replace Jabo.

A few reasons why someone would leave Yeovil for us :-
1. Ambition
2. Darrel Clarke
3. Bigger crowds
4. More money ( hopefully )
5. Live in a nicer place ( I should know I worked in Yeovil for 4 years )

Touched a nerve there

Stevenage's Chairman has said us and Mansfield were after Alex Revell, which ties in with DC saying location was an issue for a target.

Turns out Theo didn't reject us, but the Southend Chairman had given his word to Colchester that they could have him on loan but he wanted to re-sign here. We upped our offer to beat Colchester's but they wouldn't accept and Theo decided to sit tight.

Probably loyalty -- something around 7000 of your fans don't have. You know he wasn't first choice though.Kyle Bennett who earlier had said no changed his mind and joined yesterday.

I'm back on here after a few years gap . I use to post a lot of information regarding signings and players exiting which was always correct but I got a slap on the wrist from my very good contact at the club for letting out info so I came of here . I thought I'd wait to the transfer window was over before posting again lol .
It's nice to be back though .

Not bad signings for us . I'm hoping Miller can recapture some form but if he doesn't I'm not too worried , we have enough good strikers in the squad . I'm more excited about the signing of Penney. He was very high on Evans wanted list . Left wing one position we needed back up .
It's going to be an exciting run in .
I expect Us , Wycombe , Luton , Coventry and Lincoln to be in the mix .
Swindon are finding some good form and I think County season will depend on if they get any injuries .
Talking of Lincoln . One of my close contacts at Linciln has told me that Arnold may be joining Salford on loan .
He had interest from Colchester , Chesterfield and another club I can recall but Lincoln didn't want him joining another league 2 club
Lincoln done well hanging on to woody .

Who is jumping John ?
No I was on here years ago . I don't know if the lad Stoney is still on here but I'm sure he can recall my messages . I use to post things on Stagsnet at one time .
I was the only one who knew that we were getting the three owners in ..that was before Radford was on the scene . I put on here that We were getting Jake Speight from Wrexham Wat before it was announced . On Stagsent . I put we were letting Gary Silk go . The mod ,says this is untrue . A day later Silk left and the mod deleted his post lol
I'm just fortune to know people who are at Stags and a few other clubs .

What happened with Nathan Arnold Lincoln fans? There were strong rumours he was rejoining us but that didn't materialise and I can't see that he's gone elsewhere.

I can't see him being very happy stuck in Lincoln Reserves team!

Sounds very petty. Poor given his service to the club.

Ah right.

Jumping John was a Mansfield favourite over on TFF a few years ago.

We don't have a squad big enough for a reserve side!

The ITK'ers this end never even mentioned you - only Chesterfield (and that was mid-January). Whether that fell through because of the Dennis thing and that knocked everything else out, I'm not sure.

I know that he was at one of your games a week or two back, but Hawkridge and Muldoon were at our on Tuesday and I don't think they were coming back!

He was set to leave on Wednesday, on loan, and it never got announced. Yesterday DC said that any players who need game time, and Arnold will be in that bracket, will potentially go to NL sides.

What I will say is that Arnold has, apparently, been struggling with his anxiety again. Apparently. There were suggestions that he didn't want move at the minute because he wasn't quite right and that's understandable. We've always been happy for him to take time out as and when he needs it and this is perhaps one of those times. Loaning him out to Colchester we probably didn't want (but he wouldn't move there anyway IMO because he's spent 95% of his career local) and Chesterfield aren't going to impact us this season.

Sounds very petty. Poor given his service to the club.
There's a lot more to Nathan Arnold than just the footballer, as explained above. He gets a huge amount of support here from a personal point of view and I doubt we've told him where he can and can't go.

Arnold was at our last home game against Luton last Saturday (I don't think you had a game) and was last seen being ushered downstairs by our non-chairman. Seems some may have put 2 and 2 together and got 5 but it was very strongly rumoured on our forum that he was about to sign for us.

What I heard is that he don't really want to leave Lincoln . He loves the club as he does Grimsby and Mansfield . I think you could be right about his issues but I was told he just wants to play football . Maybe the loan to Salford if it goes through will be good for him . I believe he's contracted with you for another season isn't he ?
I'm glad to see Rheady and Green doing well for you . Although I think it was time for Green to move on , he will always be a legend in my eyes .
I'm hoping to catch up with Karen Rhead if she comes along to watch us against you
Regarding Grimsby . 100% rumour

Must have changed his mind...
Yeah saw that thread as it was quoted on our vitals MB.
He's been a coaching role with our academy sides along with Sam Habergham.

Our genius manager at the time released Sam in 2010...
Chris Sutton never managed again after he left here in a mardy can't think why..

What must Sutton have been on. Too small apparently...the kid must be well over 6 foot!

Not that TalkSport should ever be regarded as anything but utter guff, but they were championing Sam for an England call up the other day

He got rid of all youth players and brought in ones from prem teams who were no better.
Wasted the budget on crap players and sowed the seeds of our relegation out the EFL, which tilson finished off by telling those they weren't required then having to go back to them when the players he'd brought in on loan either went back to their teams or got injured, pair of clowns!

To be fair, Clucas showed no signs of being a professional footballer in his short time here, never mind a PL one. He was only 17 as well and you just get some who are late, late developers.

Sutton gets lots of stick for it, but it's all in hindsight. No-one raised an eyebrow when he was released. Yes, maybe we/he could have held onto him a little longer than we did but at the time our finances were going into trying to stay in the league - we couldn't afford to keep hold onto the young lads for long.

The turning point for him was getting a place in the Glen Hoddle Academy. It wasn't until 3 or 4 years after he left us that he started progressing.

Paul Cox bought Clucas to Stags to replace Matt Green when he boggered off to Birmingham, but it didn’t work out as Clucas was too lightweight and was muscled out of it by big arsed League Two defenders.

You could tell Sam had it in him to score goals when he scored a hat full against St Albans in the FACup but that we against shite defenders.

Unless we panicked and changed our minds right at the last second, we definitely weren’t. Happy about that too meself.

It was us who made an approach about Miller but didn't want to pay what Mansfield were offering.

Not sure what we are paying him but Peterborough’s owner claims we tried for him earlier in the month but Radford didn’t want to pay whatever it was. Imagine us letting Butcher go has helped as he’d of been on a decent wedge at this level.

The parent club continues paying the loanee including tax and N.I.

The loaning club pays the parent club a loan figure either in a lump sum or every month which is agreed between the clubs.

And there is nothing to stop the loaning club paying more than the loaned player's wages. Hilariously Reg Holdsworth did this to earn us some cash back in the day, bringing in a free agent on peanuts and loaning him straight out for more than we were paying him. The club who loaned him (Boston, maybe?) were not happy as we had told them they were just paying the player's wages.

Loan fees are also pretty common and I'm sure we paid one for Angol last year.

Think it was Bradley Barraclough to Gainsborough.

Loans fees are basically just as northstandexile says - just an agreed lump sum per month towards wages rather than necessarily an additional sum.

Wasn't it Conner Robinson too? Gainsborough were paying one or the other weekly what we were paying them monthly!

Arnold gone to Salford for 3 months. Sounds like there's an option for them to buy him at the end of the season.

Best outcome for all parties, I think. From a selfish point of view, we'd probably have him around the squad but he probably wouldn't have had much, if any, game time for the rest of the season.
