Keith Curle set to be announced as our new manager according to a couple of sources.

A solid if unspectacular appointment I’d say.

They'll get a big windfall with Eisa/Pell going out. All sound pretty reasonable to me given they'll probably be well over £1.5m up before the transfer window has opened. Luton fans are probably the ones to ask about all the net spend stuff though they're the experts on that front

This basically.

We’re getting £100k for Pell and we’re looking at £1.5m for Eisa -confirmed by the club secretary on the radio on Saturday.

Eisa will practically be 4 times our current record sale.

Stage one of Legge to Stevenage complete. We've announced he's leaving early so that he can get a proper (and well deserved) send-off tomorrow. Would it be optimistic to suggest that announcement of his new club is being delayed until the season is complete and he's handed back his amber & black shirt? That would be too classy wouldn't it?

George Taft staying as a replacement would depend on Mansfield confirming they don't want him. He's 24 so there would be no fee as I think his contract ends in June.

Stage one of the coaching set up is complete, with Joe Dunne announced and doing another great interview alongside our rather full of himself, Welsh Windbag, Director of Football. King's Lynn play Slough in their PO Final on Monday, so we'll only hear where Culverhouse is heading and whether he has a role at the Abbey (I suspect not) after that. Potential good news is that Barry Corr is doing his coaching badges and plenty of U's would like to see him mentoring our strikers whilst making a few appearances next season. I'm more optimistic about that bit of wild speculation.

Rumours going around that we are signing Legge.

Heard the Legge rumour, he was quality I recall for Gillingham in their promotion season but seems to have found himself back here, why has he left Cambridge? Would have the experience we crave at the back but believe he has an injury issue?

He's probably sitting on a decent profit on the house he bought in the village, so why not?

Main reason for the move will be he'll be on a top salary but couldn't get back in the team after returning from injury. That assumption depends on George Taft moving from Mansfield in the next couple of weeks.

Getting on a bit and we have youngsters coming through (and in our sights?) that will be cheaper and have a chance of being worth a bob or two down the road.

He'll be a good influence in the dressing room and solidify the defence provided he has a bit of pace alongside him.

Forget who, but someone in the NL forum mentioned Legge to them, so he's going to be a busy man!

He's in demand, probably because he's good and he's free.

At the moment he's due at Stevenage, Barnet, Orient (unlikely but best fit) and Vale.

Shaun Miller and Paul Green both been released by Carlisle and Oldham. I'd be shocked if we didn't sign both. They have both done a decent job over the last 3 months.

Another name(s) to potentially throw into the mix for the Bury job...

Salford have just sacked their management duo, both are local to Bury and one is a big Bury fan.. could it happen? Would they cut it in the FL?

George Maris linked with Sheff Utd, Burton and Barnsley, and we've been linked with Luke Hyam from Ipswich

Stevenage have signed midfielder Jimmy Ball from us for an undisclosed 5 figure fee.

Fully deserves his chance to be a full time professional. He's a tall (about 6ft 4" I think) athletic midfielder with an eye for goal. Occasionally goes missing in games but the focus of full time football should easily see to that. Hope he does well in League Two.

Gutted to lose Jimmy - though I didn't think I'd be saying that at the start of the season

First saw him for Stalybridge against us last season, he was playing attacking midfield and was their stand-out player. Reminded me a bit of Rickie Lambert during that one season we used him in his proper position. Then last season Gannon tried to make him more of a defensive midfielder, to replace Montrose, and he did struggle at the start - remember often getting frustrated at him for shying out of challenges, but that disappeared over time and he became much more solid. Ended up at his best in more of a box-to-box role. Surprised he's gone to play League football now, he's still a bit raw and IMO could've done with another year to develop his game properly under JG, but from his perspective it's probably too good an opportunity to turn down.

Best of luck to him.

Keep seeing rumours Port Vale are interested in Alfreton Town winger Brendon Daniels.

Perfect if you want a free kick specialist with an absolutely shocking attitude and poor work rate. Certainty not much of a team player and very selfish. not sure he is cut out for the football league.

Port Vale wanting a former Crewe Alex academy graduate? Some things never change, their crop of Ex-Alex players is running a bit low.

Joel Byrom has left Mansfield. Central midfielder, did well until got injured earlier in the season. Works well with pacey midfielder next to him. Easily league 2 standard, expect to see him somewhere here next season.

Not heard this one but Aspin is obviously well aware of non league players so may be someone we’ve been scouting certainly.

If he was signed and had a bad atitude he wont last long though... Aspin doesn’t stand for that at all!

Not sure if already mentioned but Lincoln are after former Latic Carl Winchester from Cheltenham.

Oh I do miss Winiesta.

We'll miss him as well. Apparently he's been made an offer of silly money (enough to make him rule out moving up to League One) and the big money is on him going to FGR.

We've given Stuart Nelson a two year contract which is great news. He might be 36 but he made a big impact when he came in as cover a couple of months ago, started to sort the defence out.

This puts Artur Krysiak's future very much in doubt as we already have Johnny Maddison contracted.

Harry Pell to Col U has been confirmed.

Really do wish him all the best and sad to see him go, although £100k really isn't to be sniffed at.

Interesting move, am I right in thinking he has flattered to deceive a bit this season after being linked with a couple of bigger moves last summer? Also, surprised at ColU spending £100k?

He should have gone to Blackpool in fairness - he turned them down, got a new deal but then didn't really push on. He's then been played all over the shop as his position has been taken by Atangana, who is much the better player.

As a person, Pell is fantastic though. He became one with the fans, and kids absolutely adore him. He's probably the last real link the fans had to the club and they're going to have to do something big this summer now to get that back.

Paul Green signs a 12 month deal with us after his release from Oldham, plus the option of a further 12 months. Great signing, what we needed at the start of the season just gone.

It wouldn’t be a transfer window if Vale didn’t sign at least 4 former Crewe players. Couple of people are saying that we’ve signed Dagnall.

I'd take Dagnall alongside the Pontiff as an option, he scores goals at least and at 32 although another in his 30's we would probably get a good year from him, maybe two.

Not sure about the Alfreton winger although he looks like he has a wand of a foot with free kicks, although guess he would be a low earner so may be an option as a squad player with a gamble that if it pays off great, if not he will be loaned out and we wouldn't lose to much on it.

Not a transfer per se but we've given Phil Brown a permanent 2 year deal.

Ended the season badly but need a bit of stability and hopefully we can back him to bring in players to push on stronger next season.
