Ah yes, John Fenty. Great bastion and publically appointed patron of all Grimsby fans, famed for his press releases that are so laden with humility and integrity that he no longer needs to walk the streets of Cleethorpes for he is carried everywhere upon the shoulders of his fanatical admirers.

Well everyone already knew that, I mean just look at this video. There's only one John Fenty.

I'm hearing if Jay Saunders gets appointed that Zavon Hines will be his first signing for us. Tore us apart last season but not done great at Chesterfield.

We're linked with Otis Khan, aswell as Swindon.

Looked good in the odd bits i've seen of him, what's your opinion Yeovil fans? Heard anything your end?

On Hemmings I'm completely on the fence if he had stayed I wouldn't have complained now he's gone not fussed.

His stats look decent but with all due respect we see the chances he misses rather than just the ones he converts and for me the misses where a huge worry.

Stringy you're an off the wall kind of guy and it's funny but telling them he is fast is just a bit weird. He works incredibly hard but he is never going to leave someone for dead for pace.

On the Bishop front I have no objection to his age and think he is possibly the kind of player we have needed for a while. If we keep McDonald he can do all the running anyway.

Its a Lincoln v Grimsby forum with a Notts County signing every now and then.

It's also the John Fenty appreciation thread. Here is some more golden footage of Son of Cod 's hero. Nice banter with the staff as well, clearly well liked by all as you can tell.

Will someone please just make a decent confirmed signing to end these two former non-league clubs arguing over next to nothing!

We can’t be expected to keep this thread going on the transfer front alone surely?

Lincoln are about to sign Akinola, apparently.

Maybe Stringy is just saying he’s fast compared to Shola ?! He looks a unit , so i’ll take ‘mobile big man’.

From the descriptions I’m getting we’ve signed him for his hold up/link up play , with Dennis buzzing around him (I hope he’s at least nippy?!). Hemmings isn’t going to score too many , is gonna miss plenty but will create for others.

From a Stags point of view , it all depends on who you replace him with I guess. Find better , then it’s a good non-signing. Doesn’t sound or look like Angol is a forward you can rely on to put in a shift and be effective over a full season

Off the wall? Please, I am as run of the mill as the next guy. I'm just happy to have an opinion that I've made all for myself, without it being obviously pro- everything Mansfield Town like most of our lot. If that makes me eccentric then so be it, I prefer to call it independent thought.

He might not be lightening but he could have the beating of most L2 centre halves in a foot race, let's face it. He does come deeper rather than sitting on the shoulder of the last man though.

To be fair compared to Stead and Shola he's positively rapid. He'll never run away from someone though (in the good way)

It's a big season for Angol a lot of people forget he is still only 23 but he has definitely got to step up now if he is going to make a go at it. He is quick (and yes quicker than Hemmings) can be strong and has some strike on him.

In fact Angol is the kid who was really good when you where playing at school but didn't realise his best attributes and wanted to play a different way. If he realises what he is best at and applies himself he will be some player but that's a big IF

I do actually know you so you can drop the run of the mill stuff haha.

Definitely off the wall with Hemmings though I don't remember him winning a single foot race last season.

Bald men and combs spring to mind here, mind this all started after our signing of Andrade, probably a good idea if we don't make any more or this thread will explode!

He's a quality winger for this level, had 10 goals and 10 assists by January, but after pushing the ref against Chesterfield and missing the Man U cup game he lost form completely and struggled to impact games, losing his place to Jordan Green.

Nothing at our end but that's because no one has a clue whats going on at the club. He does have a release clause, which Bristol Rovers met in January but he turned them down, and he would favour a move north, closer to Manchester.

If someone was signing Hemmings for his pace, i'd suggest they've not done their homework, or accidently watched him running on fast-forward

I think that's a good trait to have, I was like you on the Flitcroft front for instance, so much so that Martin threatened to ban me from Stagsnet for calling him Shitcroft and constantly reminding those who wanted him in that he hadn't won in 6 home games, against the likes of (sorry, no offence meant to any of the following fans) Crewe, Port Vale and Crawley, which, with respect should have been 3 wins, instead he got 2 and got whalloped by Crewe.

If you've got the facts to back up your points, which you often do, then there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a differing opinion from the rest.

Hemmings was always going to be a divisive decision - the 6 of us at the cricket the other weekend were 3 keep him and 3 let him go, and we had a proper argument over it too. The only thing we need to do now is actually go and get someone better, and only time will tell on that front

We really need a quality winger. Hoping we go for him.

Why, does Adam live in or near Manchester? If that’s fact , what’s your source ?

Well if he signs for Mansfield but wants to be closer to Manchester maybe he could crash at Adam Stag's house?

If he could drive me over faster, then sure lol. Anyone told him that Mansfield to Manchester is a bitch in the car over the peaks!

You, Swindon and a couple of other clubs were rumoured to be after him in January as well.

I expect him to leave as he's not overly happy IMO. He's undoubtedly a talented player and on his day can be a match winner, however like a lot of players of his type he's also a mardy bugger at times. The red card against Chesterfield which caused him to miss the Man Utd game is a case in point. He didn't get straight back into the team after his suspension finished either.

We'll sell him for a ridiculously small fee because that's what we do.

We're announcing our 3 signing today, all signs point to Harry Davis. Knowing Jolley it'll end up being somebody nobody has mentioned previously.

Quelle surprise, not one of you contest my point after the evidence provided. Well I'll be damned your honour.

Court adjourned, Fish, SOC and Paul you're all on bail, sentencing will be May 2019...likelihood is you'll be going down:fart:
What evidence is this? A thread on The Fishy? Like I said further up, I'm more than willing to go over some of the finer details if you are willing to engage in a rational conversation regarding this (even though we have done so several times before) but I genuinely don't think you have it in you.
Well everyone already knew that, I mean just look at this video. There's only one John Fenty.

A momentary blip of madness from about 10 fans, fuelled by relegation survival. From a decade ago. Fenty was still not liked back then, but less so in comparison to now.
