Absolutely gutted by this move. Unless we sign adequate replacements we will be fighting relegation next season.
Seems like he has only gone for the money and isn't a proper chap after all.

Apparently the League One loan is the return of Louis Dodds. Was a great player for us for a long long time and great joker in the dressing room, if costing us little it isn't a bad deal for us.

I'm hoping that this is just a rumour. Our recruitment seems to have tailed off after a promising start.

We will see... Strikers I guess are the hardest to get over the line hence the difficulty getting them done at the moment.

Pretty happy with signing Moore-Taylor - when I knew Tisdale was coming, he was one of three players from Exeter I was hoping he would be going back in for.

Can understand why Exeter fans are fucked off about it though - that contract stipulation is mad.

Let’s not panic here. Ok so it’s a big blow, JMT is very good but we’re yet to see who Taylor brings in and we may yet be pleasantly surprised.

He does have fitness issues and over the past two seasons he’s missed approximately 35-40 games through injury, which we managed to cope with.

It’s a fresh start at the club and Taylor said he doesn’t want players who don’t want to be here. I think we will be fine, perhaps finishing somewhere in mid table at the worst...We still have some excellent players for this level.

Don’t forget, last summer we lost Watkins and Wheeler along with Ampadu and still got 80 points.

Excellent signing on a free, but it is a worry that our first choice CB pairing will both have high injury risks... anyway a nice start to the window and there's better to come from what I've been hearing.
Any rumours on any of our other players signing for you?

I have a horrible feeling you will go in for Boateng or Pym.

Boateng has been mentioned a few times, but if it's happening it isn't close. I doubt we'll go in for Pym unless we can sell either Nicholls or Sietsma although I'd prefer him to come in.
Stockley is one most of the fans want, and there's conflicting reports on whether he has some form of clause in his contract. Someone is telling me he does, an Exeter fan on twitter is saying he doesn't.

I'm really quite uncomfortable that the manager of another League Two club knows all of our contracts and presumably the deals that would take that person away. So he says to Winkleman "I know player x will sign for you for 3k a week or whatever." Not right is it

Chris Dagnall signs for Bury...

Another questionable signing.

32 years old and only managed 7 last season. We are going to have a very old squad at this rate and Lowe is just signing ex-Crewe players so far.

31 year old Nicky Adams, 29 year old Byron Moore and 32 year old Chris Dagnall in the same side as 35 year old Jermaine Beckford...

Get some youngsters in rather than wasting good wages on old players.

It's what happens when a manager that has been there for so long moves on. We had a similar situation when Karl Robinson joined Charlton

Well if Stockley does have a similar contract clause and he goes to you for nothing, I would probably implode.

I would be amazed if he did have such a clause but after today who knows. JMT was probably valued around the £500k mark but Stockley would be double that and we cannot lose him for nowt.

Someone has said they saw Stockley at the stadium with JMT today, but they're not 100% it was him and JMT would have been finalised yesterday so I doubt the legitimacy of that. He won't come here unless another deal has fallen through/we're managing to get him on a very, very cheap transfer fee

Think it's very unlikely we will sign Stockley - like a lot of Exeter fans have said, he would cost a hefty fee. Our club record signing was Kieran Agard for anywhere between £400k-£800k in League One. Can't see us paying more than that for Stockley when we're in League Two and working with tighter margins.

Boateng I think is far more likely if we are to go for any more Exeter players.

Agard was around £250k-£300k

Meh. Had him and Timi Elsnik on loan last season. Can’t remember Gordon doing much. Elsnik was superb for a while and then just did nothing after picking up a relatively minor injury. Put it this way I wouldn’t particularly want Gordon back.

Suppose he’d be a winger type but seemed incapable of beating his man very often. Delivery poor.

JMT can fuck off. Massively overrated. Storey looked significantly better and he's always fucking injured.

I'm pissed about the contract but at least we aren't spunking wages on someone who doesn't want to play for us.

I see Lowe is copying Port Vale's scouting system by simply signing former Crewe Alex players.

Dagnall is a strange one. First half of the 16-17 season, he barely scored, then bagged 12 in the 2nd half to finish with 17. Pretty good total that. Last season he got moved around a lot to accomodate Chris Porter, played out wide and in midfield a bit for some reason, despite our manager calling him the Michael Owen of League Two. I think if you can keep him fit, you've got a decent enough player. One that should score you 10-15 with the right support and service. But if his injury problems persist, you may have issues.

Tighter margins? LOL. Come of it, JMT signed because you can pay significantly more than we can, and that's despite our recent millions making us one of the higher payers. And Tis has gone there due to promises of big budgets. He won't hesitate to make a punt if he thinks Stockley will take the bait.

Moore Taylor is a big loss for a club like ours. If he avoids injury he will do well at MK. He is a bit injury prone but when fit is excellent at this level. He is being called Judas etc by some Exeter fans but that's football. As I understand it his original contract would have ended this summer and he could have walked for nothing. We did the correct thing by trying to extend, but it was always going to be difficult, as other clubs were definitely interested. We get him signed up but have to agree to a clause where he walks if we miss out on promotion, and if we don't agree he doesn't sign. Not much we can do about that. Lots of fanny about Tis deliberately agreeing the clause with ulterior motives, and Tis and JMT deliberately trying to lose the play off final so this move could happen.......all fanny, but certainly adds a bit of bitterness to the people who wanted Tis to leave anyway. We will probably lose one or two others, but we are not Barcelona, and shit happens at this level. Our rookie manager may just surprise a few people and will have a few bob to get the people he wants UTC

I meant tighter margins as in, if we barely paid £500k for Agard in League One, we aren't going to pay more than that in Leauge Two and Stockley would probably cost more. Also we will be paying less in wages. Think we were averaging around £3.5-£4k per week or something in L1, which will be a fair bit lower in L2.
