Also now signed Ben Stephens from Stratford (all the big boys for us!). 25 goals in 42 starts last season and recently been in the V9 academy. Only 20 years so potentially one for the future.

If they offer 100k he’d be gone surely as they’d offer more wages? That said Smodzics linked too which surely would involve a big fee as he was linked with Championship sides last year.

We won't sell a key player to a side in League Two at all. If it was a league higher and the big guns in League One could multiply his wages fourfold or more then I can see it. But he's on a very good wage here anyway and is one of our highest earners. I can't remember the last time Tranmere bid a six figure fee for someone anyway...

Ordinarily, I'd have said Posh is the best chance of us making some additional money off the sell on clause but Fatty Fatty Toad Boy doesn't have a great track record at developing youngsters. Dembele is way off the standard of their usual lower/non league catches.

Peterborough's Chairman on Twitter saying he's a player that every club in the top half of League 1 wanted to sign, what a crock of shit.

Off to Lincoln isn’t he? I guess it’s some sort of weird revenge for Whitehouse. If he does go to you, he was shit anyway and we’ll find an upgrade.
Is he?

Not seen anything that Jimmy Walker is/has left.

They've spent some serious cash this summer already. Evans must have dirt on every chairman in the FL

Evans has just recycled the money he has got for Miller from Vale

Mate come on, Dembele has definitely shown his potential in that Grimsby shirt. He’s a very, very promising player who struggled in your team that was having the worst run of form through any team in the division had all season. He was also out injured for a while with a back problem too wasn’t he?

Grimsby fans were buzzing over Dembele first half of the season before he got injured. Easily the best player we faced last season and Peterborough will I imagine bring him on with their record of development.

Clearly full of potential and has talent.

Exactly they were all raving about him. All acting like they don't care now haha so childish it's embarrassing. Good luck to the lad looks a great prospect.

No ones denying Dembele's talent or potential and if he was the same player from the start of last season then I'd be gutted he's leaving, but the second half of the season it was so obvious that he didn't want to be here that I'm genuinely glad he's gone and delighted with a 6 figure fee for him as with that attitude he would have been no good to us this season, not being arsed and then leaving on a free at the end of the season. He will probably go on and thrive at Peterborough which I hope he does as we will have a sell on fee, but in terms of this deal we've ended up with a very good one in my opinion.

I made the below post at the end of August last season, turned out to be true

Plus from what I've seen for Dembele so far he doesn't seem all that, looks good with us but that's not difficult I struggle to see him impressing in some of the top sides in this league from what I've seen (yes I missed Chesterfield but as SoC said even Bore had an amazing debut). He will probably remain our best player this season and for me that is depressing!

No ones actually read the posts we’ve previously written about Dembele then?

As I’ve said a few times, for the first few months, he was very good getting 4 goals and a couple of assists. We knew then that he’d go onto play at a higher level. But since getting injured in January, he found it very hard to get his form back and he was terrible whenever he played since and contributed nothing. He didn’t paint himself in the best light when, as we were hurtling down the table, he basically said he had Premier League interest in January, and he made it obvious he wouldn’t be staying at the end of the season.

If Posh can improve his end product and get him playing like he was pre-Christmas, he’ll be a very fine player one day. His biggest hurdle is his mentality; if you watched his involvement at the end of the season, you will see what we mean.

No sour grapes from me. He’s gone, we have some money for him and the squad isn’t really affected.

Hardly surprising. All it takes is one misguided Port Vale fan and the floodgates open with the usual suspects, as per usual.

Surprised Cook got another league club to be honest, a technically proficient player but he doest really do anything, and has no real position. Hes not good enough to be a striker, not quick enough for a winger or really skillful or capable pass wise to play as 10 and he is certainly not a centre mid as we tried him. Harsh perhaps but a total nothing player. Must have something as NJ loved him for some reason.

Felt for him at the end as he was clearly broken confidence wise, had 1 last chance (ironically against Grimsby) and ended up trying a bit too hard and getting sent off never to be seen again.

Even at the last game of the season the applause when his name was read out was noticeably muted. Really should have gone after the Blackpool debacle.

Newport have signed Keanu Marsh-Brown on a 2 year deal.

Good player if you mollycoddle him, but more likely he'll just sulk and throw tantrums.

Yeah we won’t be signing Bowery. An ex footballer on our forum who has got a lot right in the past is suggesting we’ve made a six figure bid for Danny Rowe at Fylde. He was the best player in that division I seen last season. He also said we were never after Baxter because of his attitude.

Good signing then  #operationsurvival
Doesn't sound like a great signing, does it? Jolley has said he has brought him in with the idea of playing him as a forward though, so at least there is some kind of plan in place. Whether or not that will prove to a terrible plan or not remains to be seen. We can only wait and see, hopefully he'll be able to realise some of this apparent potential. A Luton side going for promotion isn't always the best place to flourish and he obviously had something about him at some point to get a move there.
