Sneaky playoff push from you lot, I reckon. How long is Richards out for?

I think both Woollery and Richards are out until September. Richards has knackered his shoulder which is a recurring theme with our strikers as Luke Norris had shoulder injuries last season and Charlie Austin also back in the day

All gone very quiet down our way.

We’re still 3-4 players light and I know that Taylor has said he will looks to further use the loan market but with just over 2 weeks to go I hope we can make some more additions soon.

Think we need cover at RB and CB. Plus we could do with another midfielder and definitely another winger.

We are done for permanent signings now. I think so too, excellent first 11 and good competition.
Maybe a loan left which I hope is Bennet.
Very happy with the squad. Just hope with the pace we now have we use it better.

I just hope the fabs averaged patience. No supporter can claim it’s not been a good ore season in the Transfer market, fully backed by the Chairman. But good on paper to good on pitch can take time. If come January we aren’t up in the mix then Nolan has no excuse and most of the blame will rightly be at his door which he surely knows anyway.

Exciting times ahead. Let’s see where we are after 10 league games with this impressive squad for the basement division

We haven't signed him, he chose to come on trial with us.

Tbf, there's little difference between that and Grimsby fans reckoning no-one at Lincoln rated Jon Nolan when they clearly did.

Behave yourself!

Don't bring me into yours and Impish's squabble!
Forgot to reply to this, was obviously not including you in my earlier comments. You are the glue that holds this farce of a place together.

I didn't really realise that was a thing about Nolan either? I seem to remember you and the Wrexham fans saying he had a poor attitude but clearly had a bit about him. The Stockport lot slammed him though.

Nottinghamshire clubs fans are not known for their patience.

For me, last year was a freak. We got there by being organised and for the first few months by teams not picking up Grant. We then tried to change how we played mid season to combat the loss of Yates and it went a bit tits up for a while.

This year I'd be happy for us to challenge again. I do think Nolan is a good manager, even if he does randomly fall out with players.

I'm happy with how we play. It's league two not the champions league. I do worry if we start poorly how quickly fans will be on the managers back

Bit of an odd one that. How do you rate him?
I really hope he has a chance at EFL level, he has been incredible for us. I am surprised no one has come in for him sooner as he has been top quality for several seasons.

I am not 100% if he is good enough for that level but I really hope he is because he deserves it.

We massively need to replace Danny Whitehead- heard last night that we're looking at Jamey Osbourne from Solihull.

Before he signed for Grimsby, he did have a trial with Crewe and have heard similar stories as to why he wasn't signed up. Again though, by all accounts Yates worked really well with him at the end of last season so if anybody is going to get the best out of him, Mark Yates will.

He's alright. Wasn't flat out terrible in many games for us, but also didn't have many standout moments either. He can put in a decent cross every now and again, but a lot of his deliveries would sail over the ball despite him being in a good position. His defending is also suspect at times. Can't say I was disappointed to see him go, very average L2 defender.

Can only really echo what JJ1532 said really, very inconsistent defender but his pace does usually get him out of jail for bad defending. Will put a one decent cross in per game, and cable of getting a couple of assists, it's an odd one because he would work really well as a wing-full back if he was part of 5 defenders.

Quite happy with Vincelot !

There is a chance I saw him playing for his first club in France. I watched them a couple of times when he was there but not speaking Frankish I couldn't understand the tannoy announcements and never bothered with a programme.

If Vincelot scores the goal to clinch Crawley the title their fans can say:

"Thanks a lot, Vin-ce-lot" :fl::fl:

No? :(

If he has an okay game, nothing special but certainly not terrible, they will call him Vinceabit.

Vincelot is a good signing for this level, a bit past it now but I’d be happy if I were a Crawley fan, far far better than that con man of a footballer Poleon anyway. I also see you’ve signed Fil Morais who for L2 is a really good player - someone with a trick, decent crosser and pops up with the odd goal, to his credit he’s a consistent player for someone who plays that ‘tricky winger’ role.

Toumani Diagouraga's a good signing for Swindon. He always seemed to be a stand-out performer whenever he came up against us for Hereford and Posh (maybe Brentford once or twice, too).

As for us, sounds like we're close with three more.

Crawley also sign Felipe Morais. Played 30 odd times in the championship last season. Think they could be ones to watch this season.

Oldham have signed left back Andrew Taylor, last at Blackpool. Useful signing, he's played nearly all his career a level above, we needed some veteran experience, and it frees up Rob Hunt to play his natural right back position.

Interestingly a few of our fans didn't realise Hunt has been playing as a square peg in a round hole since he signed for us, because he's good with both feet. But I think he'll excel in League 2, and we'll do well to keep hold of him.

I think we look really good defensively now, quite good in midfield. The maverick Placide in goal could go one way or the other... as long as we're on top in games he's like having a playmaker behind the defence, but we did let in a *lot* of goals last season.

Hopefully we find someone to get us the goals we'll need, but good strikers don't grow on trees.

Two top signings for Crawley and a good addition from Swindon.

Can Crawley also have an official going for it klaxon??

Morais could be a good 'un but a three year deal for a 32 year old!

That's probably why he has signed for us instead of a bigger club on a one or two year deal.

I reckon we might try to ship out a couple of midfielders now. Off the top of my head we have..
Jim Smith
Dan Bulman
Josh Payne
Mark Randall
George Francomb
Joe Galach
Anthony Nathaniel-Grant
And now Vincelot and Morais and a couple of others who can play there.

I'm sure I've missed someone

We also have Milsom and Whelpdale on trial and they are being bigged up by Kewell

Everton, Burnley, Brighton and Leeds said to be trailing our defender Tom Hamer, who signed his first pro deal back in March. ((Link))

We didn't always seem to get the best deals for our players under the previous owner, it remains to be seen how high any bid would need to go to test the mettle of our new one.
