We've agreed to sign Max O'Leary (apparently) on loan from Bristol City but as Frank Fielding is currently injured, the move won't be completed until he is back. Any Solihull fans out there know if he's any good?

Swindon fans, what’s Reice Charles Cook like? We’ve got him on trial

I'll try not to sound like a rival fan just poo pooing ex players so here goes.

Started off quite well, seemed quite a confident keeper etc but then threw a last minute equaliser into the goal against Lincoln and then just seemed to go to pot and would regularly make mistakes. His kicking was pretty good, at Stevenage in what was probably the worst game I saw last season he was regularly providing a threat to the local aeroplanes launching the balls miles up into the air.

I guess he's a fairly mediocre keeper if he has confidence and seems a decent enough guy.

I only glanced your badge and presumed you were a Macclesfield fan. You were in the play-off final last season, why are you scrabbling around taking crap like this on trial?
It’s been a disappointing summer to be honest. Started off promising when Askey’s first signing was highly rated Fejiri Okenabirhie from Dagenham. Signed some right shite though.

We’ve gone from Dean Henderson to Steve Arnold. Junior Brown to Ryan Haynes. Alex Rodman to Alex Gillead. We haven’t even replaced one of our best players in Abu Ogogo yet but we do have Doug Loft on trial

All we need now is to lose Nolan or/and Toto then we’re in the shit.

We've taken Rhys Taylor back on a years deal. If he sheds some timber and fucks the constant tweeting about gambling on horses then there's a decent keeper in there.

Tell me about it :lac:

Looks like we’re signing Josh Laurent from Wigan for an undisclosed fee. Spent time with you lot last season, any good?

He's not great by any imagination. Still not sure what sort of midfielder he is. Doesn't get forward enough and can't really tackle. I mean he was in a bad environment with us so maybe around a good setup you might be able to see his positives. I just hope he isn't a first teamer otherwise your midfield will be overrun

We’ve decided against signing Rory McKeown despite doing ok with us on trial and coming across to Ireland with the squad. Surprised at that but Aspin is going to his Gateshead roots and wants wing backs rather than full backs so has decided to strengthen elsewhere.

McKeown appears to be on the bench for Macclesfield Town tonignt, wish him luck... let’s hope it doesn’t bite us on the arse like last season when we decided Neil Eardley wasn’t worth a contract after a trial!

We've got about half a dozen full backs, strange move if we spend more budget on another one when we've only got two centre midfielders in the squad and one of them is 15 year old youth team product Danny Whitaker.

For any opposition fans wanting to know about recent ex-Bury players they’ve signed just ignore our opinion. Not because it’s bad, but the club is ran so badly/set up so poorly that it’s not an accurate reflection of a players ability really.

Lots of good players mysteriously turned shit for us and for no one else. Can’t be coincidence.

We’ve signed a couple of loan players, striker Yates from Rovrum and midfielder Slater from Sheffield Utd.

Least excited I’ve ever been about an upcoming season, can only see us struggling and Sheridan leaving after a few months. I’ve no idea where the goals will come from in this current squad. I can’t see us going down but doubt we’ll trouble the top half all season.

The reason I can see us going down is because despite having a pitiful attack last season, with Clint Hill we had a solid defence. Now he’s gone I can see it being back to the season before of leaking goals for fun, getting absolutely raped down the sides and having a soft centre, but only this time no Ibehre, Adams and Wyke etc to bail us out at the other end.

So unless this new striker can somehow turn into a goal machine, I think we’ll concede bucket loads of goals while not scoring any at the other end.

I was reasonably pleased with the Sheridan appointment, but I was expecting him to do more to improve the squad. So far he hasn’t, we have no wide players at all, a lack of creativity in the final third, a woeful set of forwards and a lack of leaders at the back. But to be fair to JS he probably hasn’t been allowed to bring the players that he wants by the c***s at the top running the club into the ground.

The fact we’re signing 18yr old kids on loan (as good as they might end up) to fill the gaping holes in our squad smacks to me of a board that wouldn’t be that disappointed if the club did go into non league.

If Toums is anything like the player we had last year Swindon have done a good bit of business. He started off a bit defensive for us, but by the end was moving a bit more forward and started to get goals. he was bossing games with his footballing brain.

The only question mark I have is his wages. What tempted him to Codland was obviously a lot more than we could afford, so why has he dropped down a league only six months later?
