The point is that Flitcroft has driven away one of your better players and has now told him to stay away from the club. He’s a maniac.

You are literally pretending to know the full situation just to have a dig at him, it's weird.

I'm not going to defend Flitcroft man-management skills, we know they are terrible due to the Paul Anderson situation but the Danny Rose situation goes so more deeper than two people not liking each other.

Presumably you won't be upping your bid for Danny Rowe? On the figures the Fylde chairman mentioned, he'd be well outside our price range.

I don't think we've bid for him at all, unless I've missed something completely.

David Cotterill was training with us earlier in the week, but rumours he'll be signing with Lincoln. What a signing he would be.
Absolutely no mention of Cotterill here, but having looked at the Oldham supporter on Twitter reckoning it's happening, I'm always sceptical over people who have about 20 followers and are providing sources from Lincoln when he's name has never been mentioned!

Would also be a surprise because we've been after a left sided wide player all pre-season because we don't have one, so I can't see that changing at last minute.

At least the club will get some good money in for him.

I’ve always believed good man-management skills are imperative for successful management of a team/club.

Jon Palmer has just put out that AFC Fylde are believed to have rejected a £150,000 bid from Cheltenham for Rowe.

I’m led to believe he’ll be confirmed to Latics by early next week. I hope so as he’d be a cracking signing for this level.

Has anyone at Mansfield got any info on these rumours we’re after Lee Angol?
The figures I’ve heard for supposed transfer fee and wages make me very sceptical that we would spend that sort of cash (I’ve heard minimum 100k fee and 4K per week wages), and i’d be surprised if Fenty would spend that on one player so I expect it’s yet another bullshit rumour.

Fresh rumours he’s off today, not even on the bench also.

Basically our only backup striker is a youth graduate currently!!!

Strong rumours that we’re signing Angol which would be a huge surprise.

Wonder if he’s the mystery striker we are bidding for?

UTS had quoted something which is partially true, which is an improvement on the standard quote which is completely factually incorrect

Flitcroft confirms Mansfield have accepted a bid from Grimsby for Angol.

Can Grimsby afford £100k?

Either way, I like Angol, he’s annoying and wil lsometimes just go missing, but there’s just something about him.

Mananged correctly, there’s a good footballer in there, its just about finding him.

It's a risk for both clubs, might not be for Mansfield depending on the fee/clauses.

One good season at L2 and Angol will probably be worth £500,000, but can he do it? He's got loads and loads of potential, I think being the star man and getting minutes (never had that at Mansfield) and it could click for him.

Not sure a team with Grimsbys quality will help though.

We seriously need a striker now, after Walker and Davies (both Superb today) we only have a young lad.

Adam I think £100k is the minimum. Apparently he's mulling over the move though.

We’ve just sold Dembele for 6 figures so I’d imagine this will go a long way towards paying for it.

If I were you I’d be happy, was fond of him and will be sad to see him go.

AS said, one of those lads that’s will have a cracker one week and will do nothing at all the week week after.

He’ll need a manager who will put his arm around him and pay him praise though, if you’re manager Is a fan of “tough love” you won’t recieve much back

I think the fee is going to be similar to what we paid (£150,000) plus his wages which are probably around £3k.

Do Grimsby pay anyone that much? I can't see him taking a pay cut to go.

I doubt we do but we desperately need him after today so break the bank I say. :£

If you’ve got a creative midfielder/S who will feed him the ball youve a decent forward.
If you lump the ball upfield and think he’s going to chase it down and run here there and everywhere you’re going to get little return.

Danny Rose
Danny Rose has dropped a bollock with the transfer request. Should have just kept his head down and got on with it. There's a real chance he might be left in limbo until at least January now and that ruins the love of the game for us all.

OH DANNY ROSE!

Jon Palmer has just put out that AFC Fylde are believed to have rejected a £150,000 bid from Cheltenham for Rowe.

I saw it at 2pm yesterday - looks like the Fylde chairman put it in the public domain yesterday and JP is reporting it from there.

Have to admit I'm completely surprised by this move - I don't think anything will come of it though, we're not going to pay what we consider to be over the odds for a player with no FL experience.

Watch us go in with a £250k bid now

It's looking like if Angol does leave to join up at Grimsby, which is still up in the air although we will likely find out tomorrow, he's going to be doing it reluctantly.

Danny Rose valuation has still not been met, and for anybody interested, Go to about 4.30 and Flitcroft goes in a lot of detail about the Danny Rose situation.

I doubt we can afford Angol wages. Surely not great for Mansfield if he doesn't go now though, knowing he's not wanted but stuck there.

A valuation has been met, he is not on the transfer list or anything. If Rose leaves he will be our 3rd choice striker and definitely get plenty of minutes.

I don't want him to leave, transfer window shuts soon. Many on stagsnet will disagree but either Angol or Rose going without a replacement makes Mansfield short up top if they want to challenge for the top three.

To be fair, this closing of the transfer window early doesn't stop teams getting round it by just loaning players out instead. Can still loan players in/out between Friday and the end of August and just have a clause that agrees to a permanent transfer come one of the next 2 windows.
