Fleetwood have confirmed they've received a bid for a player currently out on loan. They've a few players out on loan, but of them Nadesan is probably the stand-out performer so it's likely to be for him. One other's at Wrexham and one at Crawley so don't know how they're doing but the other one, Sowerby, is with us and while he's been good and we're wanting to extend his loan I can't imagine people are trying to sign him.

I wonder if it's someone in this division with a need for a striker and money to burn *cough FGR cough* though it could potentially be just us making a cheeky offer which is unlikely to come anywhere near Fleetwood's valuing of him, but nothing ventured...
Given how he tore us a new one earlier in the season, I'd not rule us out of bidding for Nadesan. We have the Green cash and wages to spend.

Preston won the race for Stockley apparently.

Rumoured buy-out of 750k. Exeter have got some superb fees over the past couple of years, puts us to shame. We got 400k for Dongda He from Wolves in the summer, and 140k from Liverpool for a lad a couple of years back, but that’s it in recent memory.

We've done well over the last couple of years selling players on at about £1m all in, although the likes of Raggett, Woodyard and Waterfall all had release clauses, so we got decent fees but probably not quite enough.

Although if they want £700k, as mentioned above, then that's way out of our reach.

Both Exeter and ourselves have had offers accepted for Bowman. The Motherwell chairman has commented that he has been offered wages 'we could not compete with', which suggests he is going to Exeter rather than us unfortunately.
Difference being, at Exeter he’s there to replace Stockley at Tranmere it’d be as squad rotation.

Is Nadesan any good? Seen us linked with him a few times recently.
He's very promising, not the finished article... but for a club down here an excellent forward to have. Lethal against opposition who try to defend high up the pitch. As Gijsbert says above, tore Lincoln a new one, handed Oldham's arse to them a few times on Saturday too.

We’ve appointed Greg Abbott as Director of Football Operations. I know he was a useless manager, but what was his recruitment like?

I’ve been told again today that Bowman is definitely signing for us. The fact his fiancée is from Torquay has been the deciding factor. Plus, as you say, he will get straight into the first team to replace Stockley so that must be tempting.

Can’t say I’ve ever seen him play. He may well be decent but we’d never get anyone remotely close to Stockley’s ability so hope our fans aren’t too harsh on him if he doesn’t score as often!

I’m trying to think of our biggest fee in the past 10 years - Luke O’Neill for £250/£300k maybe back in the conference to Burnley.

CJ could go by the summer for our record fee at this rate though.

Good for 15 goals in a good league two team like Exeter, not a 25 goal striker like Stockley.

Bowman is nowhere near as good as Stockley imo. Always struck me as a work horse/target man guy but I may be wrong on that.

Hit and miss. He discovered the likes of Nahki Wells and Paddy Madden, then released them. Loves a tricky little player, think the combined weight of every player he ever signed for us was a couple pounds shy of Anthony Gerrard. I remember Chris Chantler with fondness, God only knows how he'd have dealt with the massive forwards who have featured in this division of late. John Parkin would have had him as a half-time snack.

Surprised he hasn't been given the opportunity to go back into management though. After two years as assistant manager that saw us pushing for promotion, he managed us for 5 years in League One. The middle three of which we were a pretty solid mid-table team, reached two JPT finals, winning one. It was a pretty good division back then too, the likes of Swansea, Leeds, Forest, both Sheffields, Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Wolves, Norwich, Leicester and Charlton being among our opponents. It was definitely time for him to go by the time he did get sacked but his record isn't really one of a 'useless manager'.

We're apparently signing Ricardo German a youngster from Hendon, and maybe on loan, Conor Coventry from West Ham

Apparently we've got 20 year old Coventry left back Chris Camwell on trial, with a view to a permanent deal in January.

Buying our way out of trouble.

He looked quite tall on Boxing day, maybe we'll stick him in for Smith as target man. There is a bit of history of goalkeepers scoring at Carlisle after all.
