We've been linked on a Exeter page on Twitter with Lee Holmes.

Would be a decent signing and was born locally to us. Not sure where he'd fit in mind.

If what I've heard is true about Holmes' contract, then don't think he's going anywhere. Signed a 5 year deal at the beginning of last season, think he'll then retire. Has moved his wife and kids down here, has set up his business too.

Was it really a five year deal? That sounds excessively long and we dont normally dish out anything over 3 years even to the younger players.

I can't see this happening, would be a real change in direction. Holmes is still a very decent winger but I'd be surprised if we let him go to another L2 club while under contract unless they are offering ££££ for him.

Scunthorpe have apparently had a £200k bid turned down for our young CB George Edmundson.

Multiply by 5 lads and we might start talking.
I'd honestly sell for £500k and a sell-on. I think his ceiling for improvement might be too low to be worth much more. We got about that much for James Tarkowski, and I knew he was destined for the top. George is good and will have a good career, but he's not at that level.

We've got several players on trial at the moment (don't know who), and a slightly longer list of players made available for transfer. Campbell looking to make his mark on the squad in the next couple of weeks.
Where you seen/heard this?

No idea on who is on trial or who is on the list of players on the transfer list?

Ah yes, forgot about his business venture. I’ve heard he and his family love Devon so would be surprised if he left. However, a 5 year deal? Don’t believe that for a minute...

We're being linked with Shawn McCoulsky of Bristol City, striker who was on loan at Newport last season, currently on loan at Southend.

Stockley should sign for his new club tomorrow. I’m hearing it’s defo not a L2 team, so happily that rules out MK!

We’re also close on signing one more, apparently.

Just saw Northampton sold Kevin van Veen to Scunthorpe a year after signing him.

Always thought it was a weird signing when it happened last year. Scunthorpe were in the playoff places and Northampton were heading towards League Two. Can only mean Northampton had a ridiculous wage budget or something which makes the whole bottom four in League One last season going down to this level quite something...

He’s always been absolutely useless against us over the years but must have something to offer. Strange one that.

First signing for us Tiny MacMahon right back from Oxford.
32 year old and not played much this season but has to be better than our non existent cover in that position.

A Scunny fan on the League One forum thought they were in for him. Sounds like a good signing particularly in your predicament.

Seen that on twitter but thought it was a joke account?

Not quite sure what Tranmerewhite is expecting. I'd be happy with Perkins, experienced pro who seems to have had a fall out with Keith Hill.
I have always been impressed by Perkins and think this would be a good signing. We are crying out for a genuine footballer in midfield, who can see a pass and create, and you don't lose those attributes with age. Banks is the only creative midfielder we have and we need more options in the middle of the pitch.

I think that team could do well in League Two. I don't think they'd beat us but I reckon they could beat at least County this season (sorry County). Maybe move up the table, how would they get on at Yeovil or Cheltenham or somewhere like that?

You're probably right, a Notts mate sent it to me and I didn't check it's authenticity.
That's me done as a journalist.

Apparently one of 2 signings Scunthorpe will be announcing in the next 24 hours.

We need to be camped on this thread this month the amount of players we need and need to get rid of

At the time, the Scunny media reckoned he was offered something silly like £5k a week and that aside, wasn't really keen on the move.

No idea on who is on trial or who is on the list of players on the transfer list?

No names for trialists (6 of them), apparently they are tall. The people listed (8 or 9) are mostly people you'd expect/be happy to see go. Not sure if them being on trial means they are without a club at the moment or not.

Yeah it's not bad actually, most the players in would be decent additions to most squads in the division I reckon. Obviously not walking into any team, but I'm sure the likes of Bishop and Collins are great to have around the youngsters. It's quite difficult to say how they'd do. They'd be quite solid and savvy but obviously lack pace despite what that video of Ellison kicking off about his FIFA stats says.

Cant see him going at all particularly with Ogbene going back.

He never wanted to join us it was obvious. Jimmy floyd clearly offered a huge chunk in wages and it seems he was clearly our biggest earner. Our wage bill was massive as we had some random Chinese investment (clearly dodgy as no longer involved) but the fact we went down was a farce from all parties involved.
