Last season we could’ve filled half this team ourselves.

Neal Bishop has taught me to not judge a player by his age. Best midfielder i've seen at our place for years.

Given he’s supposedly one of Rochdales highest earners; someone that’s 10 years younger.

Mellon and Palios make a big deal out of continuity within the squad, not going to get any from a signing like this and if it’s a short term signing, is he really going to blow the division away?

Anthony Kay has been generally excellent for us at 36 in midfield if struggling for a winger strangely against Lincoln we played Danny Pugh at 36... a lost 6-2!

He can and mainly is a centre back but useless there now so we shoved him in midfield as an enforcer type.

Interesting one. I kind of get the feeling that Taylor will let Holmes leave when his deal’s up.

He’s a classy player, no doubt, as you could see from his strike Vs Yeovil on Boxing Day but his injury record is poor. He must have missed an average of 15 games per season since signing and he’s now into his 30s. As you say he’s a local lad so this may have some legs and it would be a good signing all in all.
